A few tidbits not covered in this video:
    1) As a boy, King used to run around with a white boy his own age. One day when he went to the boy's house asking for him, his mom called off their friendship saying that he was black and her son was white. That was one of King's first real experiences with racism.
    2) King is a graduate of Morehouse College, having gained admission while still attending Booker T. Washington High School (which not only did he not formally graduate from but was also able to skip grades 9 and 12.)
    3) Portions of his doctoral dissertation while studying at Boston University were determined to have been plagiarized. However, his Ph.D has never been revoked due to the unplagiarized parts being good enough to stand out on its own.
    4) King was a great fan of the original Star Trek. One day while partaking in an NAACP event, Nichelle Nichols, who played Uhura, had a significant conversation with the good doctor himself where he convinced her to stay on the show because of the importance of her character and how African-Americans could be seen as equals in some way. She would up staying through the show's run and for many more years to come.

I stood literally feet from where he was when he was assassinated. It was an exceptionally...emotional I guess is the best way I can describe it? experience for me. I know there’s a chance this may unfortunately be true. But I’m inclined to believe that they released what best fit their agenda, especially thinking about the recent BLM movement. People already don’t want to listen to black voices, so it’s a huge blow when one of the most influential and trusted figures in their fight for justice is suddenly made suspect. And this wouldn’t be the first time the FBI has made activists out to be monsters.

Plenty of "good" people in history and present have bad parts too.
Example I love the actor Gary Cooper. He typically played the "good guy" in movies. He cheated on his wife for years and when he got his mistress pregnant made her get an abortion. Still love his movies, but I accept he was very flawed on his personal life.

To this day his speeches make the hairs on my arms rise and my heart swell... and even knowing about his marital indiscretions, I think of all the good works he had done. And think "many other great men of history haven't been husbands"... But this was the first time I heard that MLK was in the presence of a rape, allowed and/or encouraged such actions against a rape victim, it left me agape and not wanting to wait until 2027. I need to know now, or I don't ever want to know... I am sincerely sorry for what happened to any and all victims, but I've lost so many heroes that kept me inspired throughout my youth in Chicago, I hate to lose 1 more, one whose words and recounting of his life, allowed me to gain the friendship of so many black people.
I rather not know his sins.

Today, it's Fishkill Correctional Facility, but the buildings that made up Matteawan are still standing. You can see it as you drive by I-84! Could you at some time cover J. Paul Getty? Christopher Plummer really hit a home run with his portrayal of him in "All the Money in the World." I didn't know until after he passed away that he won an Oscar for best supporting actor for that role! What a testament to his talent! Also, the crew had to reshoot all scenes that originally had Kevin Spacey with Christopher Plummer in the month before the movie's theatrical release! That is one of the most appropriately named movies I've seen. He, LITERALLY had all the money in the world being the world's richest person in 1973. He FIGURATIVELY had all the money in the world to get his grandson freed. The movie's title also provides us with a PROFOUND message: All the money in the world can NOT buy you happiness.
