In Germany we make "Pflaumenkuchen" on a baking sheet. Plums are layered across the dough. It is best when eaten right out of the oven. I do miss the German bakery goods. Greetings from Chicago Illinois. 😊

Suggestion: Try using a battery powered leaf blower for easier porch and step cleaning.
Love the look of the plum cake. Wonder if you could use peaches or apricots with that same simple batter. Maybe a little brandy as flavoring instead of vanilla extract 🍑

I received a shipment of Hale Empress Plums and decided to try making your Plum Cake. It was so good I made another one. The plums were better in your cake than raw out of hand. I absolutely love your channel, Kevin. I try many of your recipes. I used to have an old house and loved doing all the things you do- although never as well as you do it. I live in southern Pennsylvania, and the trees have not started the shed their leaves here yet. Today it rained for the first time in two weeks, our grass is brown and dried out. Beautiful cake, will give it a try. I just made a zucchini chocolate cake to die for from Baker by Nature. Unusual music when baking, almost Halloween like. No autumn in Colville, but I love Fall so looking forward to it and the decorations to welcome in the season.

The Plum cake looks like a fine dessert for Fall. Due to very dry hot weather in Eastern Washington the dried leaves have fallen. Not to despair, my trees have plenty of green ones to still turn the harvest Fall colors.

Kevin, each time I see your grand front porch, it calls to me for seasonal flowers!! My porch is covered with Fall colors including mums, pansies, violas, my summer Kimberly ferns beside the double doors, along with summer hanging ferns! I will definitely make the plum cake!

You can blow the leaves off of your porch in a snap! I look forward to your tea sandwich video….Still hoping on how to make the cold brew coffee…Still VERY hot out here in the desert southwest!
Locust trees are turning yellow and dropping leaves, but they're always first here.
However, our hot weather has turned to warm weather with a breeze that enjoyed tossing leaves I swept right back where they'd been....I'll wait a bit.

I’m in south central Florida on the east coast, and it’s endless summer here (except for about 2 weeks in December-January). I like watching your videos because it brings back childhood memories of living in the northeast. The plum cake looks incredible! I am tempted to make a GF version of this.

This cake looks amazing. I am 30 miles west of D.C and our leaves have been falling for two weeks. We are in a drought so I think that is contributing to the early shed
Yes, Autumn is beginning in small ways to announce its arrival. Here in north Alabama we are having cool nights and mornings, but still some warm highs in the middle of the day. Thanks again Kevin for all these amazing videos!!
Autumn is early in the Pacific NW too. Although we have fewer leaves in autumn, we get another “fall” in spring when the old needles fall from the evergreens after the new needles are grown .

We love plums and your cake looks scrumptious. It looks very moist and I bet it would be great with some whipped cream. We like to stew them, skin included, no sugar added and purée them. Really good with Greek yogurt. Thanks Kevin🙏❤️
