"Need " ? The only people that "need" an e bike are old guys like me (78) and the injured and unfit . Maybe you meant should they have one just because they can ? I would say no . i won't say why . I'll just let the rest of the thread fight it out .😎
I started on training wheels Next bike was Schwinn with banana seat ,and high handlebars If I had a choice, I would not start my kid off with a eBike. If you start with a analog bike first, you can so much more appreciate an E. Bike later.
I didn't need or want an e-bike until I was 72. Specialized came out with the lighter mid-power Levo SL which made me come over to the dark side. On my second Levo SL now. Will be watching for what bike builders adopt the new ZF motor...
The whole water motor thing need to be push to the top of the list along with being able to service them just like every thing else on a bike. You get parts to rebuild, regrease everything else on bikes but, motors we aren't completely there yet. Also some of the seals aren't as good as the should be. Don't get me wrong overall they are ok to good but they are capable of better. It's time to step it up!
I purchased my grandson who had the time was three and now is turning four a estrider , cuz he wants to keep up with his grandpa on the trails. He has now learned to pedal his 16” wheel trek on the trails. Haulin ass
Regarding demand for eMtb! I have a friend who works in a Giant Bikes shop, he's told me over the last 3 years the demand for Ebikes has grown so much they now make up 75% of all bike sales in their shop!
Was this a show about e Mountain Bikes or a competition between two presenters to see who's the most sarcastic? 😂😂 It could've been serious but went very rapidly down hill! It gained pace in the latter half! 😂😂 Am I learning a lot about eMtbs? 50/50 at the moment but definitely entertained! 😂
I know Steve doesn’t worry about the weight thing, and to a certain extent he’s right. However, the more weight you have the more battery power you use therefore less range/time on bike. Obviously gradient/terrain, tyre pressure, headwinds play a part. Hopefully battery and motor technology will improve to give us a more consistent weight range for emtbs in the range of 18-22 kgs. I think that would be the ideal ‘sweet’ spot. Many emtbs are 26-27 kgs and I feel this is a bit too much. IMHO. Waterproofing is a major concern. Manufactures need to devote more to this area. Not just the motors but battery housings/covers, terminals etc. I've seen some poorly protected batteries. My own being a good example, not even a rubber seal around the cover. It's not good enough. We are being sold a "premium" product without the appropriate build quality.
Saw a preview of rich and Blake going to do an epic ride . Think you missed an opportunity . Remember the top gear show where they had to drive from German to Blackpool on one tank of fuel . Blake should have Been on an ebike just to see if he could make it . Perhaps turning it off at times . Would he win or even finish 🤔🤔
Great motor if you don’t get gen1. Fixed battery with no REX until end of this year( maybe, as promised for the last 2years) . New battery with more capacity on the horizon and a shitty controller. I don’t get it
@@embn I'm in south africa so we most likely Wil have to wait another year, hopefully the other companies also starts with the endru(170mm) med power bikes don't see it Alot
Using the term "analog" for a normal pedal bike is silly. In the sense of analog vs. digital, BOTH are types of electronics. The term "acoustic" is a much better analogy for full pedal bikes. Acoustic vs. electric, not analog vs. digital.
Do you think kids need eBikes? Let us know in the comments below!

Nope , they need the exercise, you seen kids lately 😂
They have as much of a right to an Ebike as us adults do.

One would assume manufacturers would tout the waterproofing of their motors....yet, they don't as a matter of practice....
How long into the show before canyon bikes get shoved down our throats, even sick of hearing the bloody name canyon now😂
CANYON

The Apennines are in Italy lads, all across the "boot" 😜
Apenninse are in Italy, starting in Ligury until Calabrie
You guys should do a cheap EMTB challenge. $1000 budget, put them to the test! Range, durability, weight, performance.
Looks very similar to canyon strive on
I still think I would miss the power of 85nm even with the lightness. We are so close to max power, minimal weight and maximum range.

The videos are very cool, but they would be great if they put subtitles in Spanish and enjoy your videos to the fullest! greetings from Spain

Why has that guy got his head on upside down?
why are mommy and daddy fighting?
Who's the mum in this scenario? 😂

Calling a traditional, unassisted bike "analogue" is stupid, it doesn't even match the definition of analogue. Why do these people use asinine names?
"Acoustic" is even stupider and makes even less sense
Seems I just lost interest in anything with a chain and a derailleur.

He is insufferable.
why don't you have 10x's more subs?
