It is nice to see the trend for professionals to start posting videos has spread to the marine industry. I see you have just begun, and I expect your channel to grow exponentially, it will be fun to follow along! You've got excellent audio and easy dialogue. Lighting will always be an issue in a boat, you want diffuse lighting from a large source rather than point lighting. I love your decision to use plastic to keep it all clean. Don't be discouraged that your channel doesn't take off immediately, even now most of my viewers come from Google searches of the topic and title.

@@SJCompleteMarine a chest mount might work! I just know the pain of positioning flashlights juuuust right all too well 😂. Also, there's hats with LEDs in the brim now. Those could be handy maybe? Either way I'ma keep watching bro!

No, this engine has a starter. the 3YM30 does not have an adaptor to hand crank it. This engine must be started with an electric starter.

Great video. One thing to note, I've read that using the oil pump like that is not good for the engine because it creates a large vacuum inside the engine. On these engines, there is a small plug near the oil filter. If you remove that plug, you can fit the oil pump line down inside the engine. It's wider than the dipstick tube.

Good thought, I'm wondering where you found that info, as yanmar specifies to use the dipstick as the oil removal tool. Because these engines have a PCV also, there would be no vacuum as it will pull air through the pcv. If it did not have that, then I would be concerned about it pulling the crankshaft seals, but since yanmar designed it so well, There is no worry of any issues

@@SJCompleteMarine not sure... Maybe not specific to this engine. I'm a newbie so you definitely know more than me. I only learned about the other opening near the oil filter because the hose I have for my oil pump wouldn't fit down the dipstick tube and I don't have the attachment you have. Anyway, great video. Thanks for sharing.
