But seriously, if you’ve tried fiverr and not found much success or just dislike how they operate or are just interested in some other ways of bringing in business as a freelancer then definitely check this video out, where I look at 8 ways freelancers can get new business.

Just got made a fiverr pro - took 3 years... made over 60k... yet hate every single aspect of fiver. Thankfully, its dying so time to find something else to do.

Agree 100% I’m a level 2 seller on Fiverr and that’s exactly how I feel… Can’t wait to get out of it and work my way into real freelancing

I love it. Been on fiverr for 2 years made great money and clients, but with the one sided review penalties and the fact that you get unofficially penalized for ANY metric dropping is just too annoying. Couple that with bottom feeders and scammers and the site is truly a race to the bottom.

Yes! I was doing well with the Early Payout option and suddenly they penalized me for I don't know why. I tried having a chat with fiverr's support, but they won't tell me because that info is not supposed to be disclosed with sellers.

I use to make thousands on Fiverr selling services I could copy/paste for multiple clients. Anytime someone wanted something new I would make it, then add it to my list of stuff.
I only had to make a unique thing once for each niche & it worked VERY well, it was piss easy. I only stopped after getting banned & not caring enough to do it again.
Now I just use Fiverr to find people to hire. Personally I hate the platform, I always try to take business off Fiverr as soon as possible because Fiverr's chat app sucks, & they don't support anonymous payment methods like Monero. Though I personally agree with most things Fiverr does, paying for a boosted listing seems perfectly fair, 20% cut, a bit excessive but its their service so if you don't like it, don't use it.
So while I agree with their business practices, it won't stop me from personally hating them as a company.

Thankfully you didn't pushed away the laptop from the table, Jim! Tension was building! :D
I am not sure how in these days Fiverr works, as I been there for awhile back in the days when... They introduced PRO's section and via custom interviewing you were able to appear among "pro's" in the field, handpicked. Think of it like "Premium" freelancers catalogue. Sounded worth trying to gain extra reach and attention at the time.
Did it worked out as described? Damn hell no :D As an additional problem to the platform itself, the users base using it... Forgive me for definition, but very often than not are... Well, lets say blind bargainers, as softly as I can name them. As a result, "clients" were browsing Pro's section and expected casual $5 pricing - EVEN THOUGH costs are listed as gigs - 9/10 situations. Thus, sometimes the platform itself can run into a loophole of cheapness, and whatever it tries to do - that sticker remains in most cases :))

Not you again 😂. thanks for the info, that’s interesting. I was just working with a guy who would put so much work into fiverr with 0 return. Obviously I’m not saying all freelancing sites should be avoided especially when you’re starting out there a good route in but from what I can see fiverr is just interested in buyers not sellers. I mean it’s called fiverr who do you think that’s benefiting 😂

agreed, lets start the revolution! Question is... what is the alternative? Maybe we create a crypto based freelancing system where all reviews and conversations are public including blackmail comments? (scratch that idea actually... but you get the idea.... just start coming up with ideas, post it here :))

"Your" client is Fiverr's customer, not your customer. The sooner you realize that the better. They obviously want to be the Amazon of freelancing (even Fiverr's choice badge is awkwardly similar to Amazon's choice). It doesn't mean you can't use the platform to your advantage.
