I wonder if this whole scene is supposed to symbolize how civilizations rise but are inevitably destroyed by the flaws of human nature only to be rebuilt and be destroyed again.
What I find interesting is how The Last Man constantly sends Assassins down to destroy the desolate world without any changes other than different routes for the Assassins to take while the Dark Angel uses the grinded powder to create the Universe without changing anything, so both get the same results over and over. It's an eternal struggle
@@georgeofhamilton Time doesn't work down in the desolate world like it does above ground, in my interpretation. The Last Man never learns this, and the bombs will always fail. The Assassins never question their order or why or where their predecessors wind up, and never investigate the cause of each failed mission. If a truly unique and devoted assassin figured out why the bombs never go off, then they'll likely take initiative to detonate the bombs themselves before being taken. But that's not how it works in the end, and it's an endless cycle.
do you think the last man and the dark angel are rivals? hmm no actually i think they (nurses) cooperate like when an assassin dies they give the baby?.. the thing that cries to the dark figure
@justacat2 seeing as how the Dark Angel was struck down at the start of the movie when he stood upon the tower, it's safe to assume they are indeed rivals. Plus, why give a bomb to the Assassin if it's to "nurse"? Plus, the baby gets crushed to death so that's not exactly nursing.
My interpritation is that the black figure is the titular mad god (it or something like it appeared on the tower of bable in the intro) trying to discover why its creation has failed only to see that the failure is inherent to its designs. Reality built bybits hands will endlessly fall inti decay and horror, but the bombs finnaly detonate ending the eternal hellscape and oreventing the god from doing it all over again.

@slackingstacker I completely agree. There's a reoccurring theme with the attempt of making a better outcome without first changing enough variables. Just like with the last man sending down his assassins with the same bombs that never go off, expecting it to work eventually, but it never will. I feel like this is partially due to the fact that even with an army as big as what he possesses, it's never enough due to the fact nobody ever works together. There's no cooperation or teamwork. Everyone is alone and apathetic towards those around them. I find it all so fascinating and wonder how it would look if they would simply work together to achieve their goal. Im actually working on a huge stopmotion fan film revolving around the Mad God universe (official trailer can be found on my channel) where one of the assassins gets a different outcome, and it isn't such a convoluted and directionless plot. Granted, that gives it more of a majestic sick like beauty, but I'd like some more refinement to it's consistency 🙏
@@dankmotionsstudios5161 That is awesome stuff, how's that fan film coming along? It looks like Phil Tippet's gearing up to make some kind of spiritual successor to Mad God too with his new "Sentinel" film, the main character's design is nearly 1:1 with the Assassin

Its not due to "human nature" per se... But because of the poor design by a false creator.

I just don’t get how the bomb timer always fails for some reason.
@georgeofhamilton i blame whoever built the bombs because they could've tested the timers but they never did.
