  • Super excited that our brand new Vaderstad Seed Hawk drill showed up today. It's got tons of new features such as Sectional control, turn compensation, variable rate and scales. It's been a long time coming, and we're gonna have to wait 6 months before we can use it, but I'd rather have it in the yard than to be waiting for it to show up.
Let's take a sneak peek at it.

Looking good a nice addition to your farm, what are you anticipating for your acres per hr with it? With our 68ft bourgault im doing 34-35 acers an hour but 700 bushel tank so limits me there.

We tend to seed a little slower, 4-4.5mph for canola, 4.5-5 for pretty much everything else so that's about 30 in canola and 35 in wheat. we are not floating fertilizer anymore, now putting everything down the pipes, hoping to plant as many acres per day with this setup and 300-350 lbs down the pipe as we did with the previous drill with 100-150lbs down the pipe after floating 200 lbs.
Would love to average over a half section a day including fills and moves

Do yup have hills and water runs? And that cart doesn’t need a wedge kit. I have a 80 with a 980 for 3 years.

@dallasleduc7700 yep…. A few hills and water runs, and bluffs & sloughs to work around. Found out we didn’t need the wedge kit a couple of days after I filmed

That’s good. The cart stairs and the cross over are a problem in hills and water runs. You wouldn’t think it but in a left turn that runs into a waterrun they will hit. I can send you pics of what we did to ours to stop that. I hate cutting and welding on a new drill but it better then bent stairs
