Vaderstad 80' Seed Hawk air seeder. Planting in Canada 2022 with Versatile Tractor

Seeding during the late spring season of 2022 with our 80' seedhawk air seeder and its 980 bushel tow behind air cart. Pulling the unit is mainly our 610HP versatile 4wd tractor.

Great Video. . I play Farming Simulator 19 and that Vaderstad is in the simulator along with the larger Bourgaults. There is nothing small or subtle about Prairie farming and the size of our machinery. I am in Winterpeg ( Winnipeg ) home of Versatile and Mac Don.

Thanks! I often wonder where the line is for equipment to be "too big" since it is a lot for a new operator to learn compared to the smaller machines of years past

@@windmillfarms2845 I think there must be a practical limit to the size of seeders. Bourgault has a 100 foot drill and that is like turning a 10 story building. There must be a limit to the turning radius that is practical.
You see farms in Sask operating 4-6 huge FENDT 10T series combines so there is a demand for huge equipment but you have to be VERY smart to be able to finance it and make it pay for itself. Deere has a autonomous tractor but I doubt that will ever work well. Who is going to be there when a bearing seizes and something starts to smoke to stop the machine before the field burns down.

Did you find any difference in crop yield from a tow behind and a tow between commodity cart-?

not that we noticed. In my head i figured there might be some due to compaction, but if there was any, it was negligible.
