I highly recommend this lecture for those who are struggling with legal writing in law school, especial if you are an ESL student. Excellent lecture. Easy to understand. Being a foreign born, I especially appreciate how the lecturer's pace of speech and clear pronunciation! I wish I watched this video while I was still in law school. Also ALL the video's posted are extremely helpful for the law students and non-U.S trained attorneys.

Thanks for your kind words. I've gotten helpful comments from instructors, too. One instructor suggested adding key facts from the case to the case chart. It's a good point. However, often for a law school memo, I find it sufficient to just make any important point regarding facts in a "notes section". Different people have different approaches. People seem to agree that "noticing" is key and I think it is an important skill for language learners - - including slow learners like me! I plan to post Part II soon.

This is a really great video for understanding how to draft a memorandum of law, you go through the process step by step and everything is explained in a clear manner.

@@USLawEssentials How about discussing legal consequences the former President might face for provoking the crowd to break the law by attacking the US capital. Any responsibility on his part at all?

Hi. Recently two civil litigations were filed against the former president that rely on 42 USC 1985. I introduce that law here: th-cam.com/video/5uwQs2CEqHU/w-d-xo.html

The video is about organizing a memo. The strategies I present are effective. Other professors might have different preferences and students should be guided by the person grading them. In addition, the video is not for purposes of presenting all of the substantive law on challenges to jurors and I don't want anyone to be confused. Research will need to be more exhaustive than what is presented in this memo. You can compare this approach with people who put things on the internet and are supremely confident notwithstanding that they do not know what they are talking about.
