Hello. Thank you so much for subscribing to our channel. We are posting year two of our visit to Picacho Recreation Area on Sunday June 9th, 2024. Yes, we saw three employees and two camp hosts in the month of March when we were there. The campground is less busy in Summer months.

If you work in Death Valley (respect !!), then you'll know what to do with the heat. We love visiting Death Valley. Getting a flat tire is common going in or leaving Picacho Recreation area. Safe travel.
Alabama Hills is cool, but overrated. It’s always crowded. Picacho is much better. Secluded, and because it’s a stretch, uncrowded. (I read something that said Picacho is one of California’s least used state parks.)
It must be because is not easy to get to it. It's so beautiful once you make it there. Even though we got a flat tire leaving Picacho at our 2023 visit. We are going back for more in 2024. Be sure to come back for the video in late Spring. Note !! must only go to Pichaco Recreation Area from Yuma, AZ. It's safest !! The road from other direction is not safe, almost unpassable.
@@tdadventures I'm from San Diego and am familiar with all the approaches to Picacho. Going via Indian Pass is amazing, but you have to have a vehicle that can do it.

It must be because is not easy to get to it. It's so beautiful once you make it there. Even though we got a flat tire leaving Picacho at our 2023 visit. We are going back for more in 2024. Be sure to come back for the video in late Spring. Note !! must only go to Pichaco Recreation Area from Yuma, AZ. It's safest !! The road from other direction is not safe, almost unpassable.

I'm from San Diego and am familiar with all the approaches to Picacho. Going via Indian Pass is amazing, but you have to have a vehicle that can do it.
