  • Are you including a trash can rollout in your new kitchen build? This video demonstrates how I build a high quality trash can rollout utilizing soft-close hardware. This method is far superior to factory rollout kits that are available.

Good morning Wes, I have learned a ton from watching your videos and in fact built a custom over range microwave cabinet based upon your video.
I’m beginning to design my lower cabinets for my condo and the wife wants a double trash can rollout such as the one you built in this video.
Can you provide me with the width, depth and height of the trash cans (8.75 gallon?) as well as the width and height of your actual drawer to fit those trash cans?
Thank you and I hope you’re having an amazing weekend.

Hi...glad you have been able to benefit from the videos ! I suggest purchasing your trash cans first, the 8 gallon size is typical of what I use. I make my trash can roll out cabinet 18" wide (16.5 opening frameless style cabinet). The height of my opening is 22 3/4, with a 5 1/2 drawer opening above. I hope this helps with your construction, if you have more questions, please let me know. Wes

What do you do for finishing the edge of the plywood? Leave it raw, wipe on poly or iron on edge banding?

Hi...I typically leave the edge raw, just sanded smooth.
You could rub some Watco wax on it if you wanted. Thanks for watching.
