  • In this video on ‪@offroad801‬ I'll be highlighting my trekking adventure in Canyons of the Ancients. A continuation of our incredible time spent here in the Four Corners Region - American Southwest. With rich well-preserved Ancestral evidence, of the Native American culture, all around us. It's undoubtedly one of the best kept secrets. I found a past ancient life & ruins, hiding in the alcoves - for approx. 1000 yrs. (no one knows FOR SURE) Trekking through Native American villages was fun too. Again - we've been humbled and are extremely grateful for this experience. Best part is, we get to share it with YOU! Hope you enjoy this one, and all of our videos.

What a beautiful place, its hard to imagine it bustling with activity and voices on the wind with the smells of burning juniper and venison!

I agree. So beautiful 😍. It really helps to imagine how many people were here. By the sheer numbers of ruins in every direction. I was shocked 😲. We stayed in this area for a while. But there's still so many ruins I didn't have time to see. Can't wait to get back there. Thanks for watching 👀.

I think I'm in love with the 4 corners area. The Mustangs are an awesome bonus 😎.

Yes Baby Mustang...stay with Mummy 🙏
Too many baby animals not paying attention to the dangers this time of year 😔.
Some of those ruins look like they've been restored... with mud infills.
That's great to avoid further collapse where possible.
Lots to see on that 3 mile trail 👌
Thanks Curtis and Chantel...and Connie, for keeping our intrepid explorers fed 😁👌

So many babies in the spring 😍. I agree. A lot of the ruins look like they have had some help. I'm glad you spotted the differences. I don't know how many have been fixed. But it seems like most of them have been preserved. At least a little bit. Witch is awesome. It's so amazing to see all the ruins. Connie makes the best zucchini bread 🍞 😋 👌 🙌 👏.

      @@offroad801 😋👌.
Living in a city, we get lots of pigeons...and a baby one had plonked itself down in the centre of a road junction with traffic that travels in 5 different directions.
Somehow, we all managed to avoid that bird, but the little sod would not fly away 🤣.
I went through that junction a couple of hours later, and fortunately it hadn't got itself squished 🙏✌️...it was probably in the middle of another road causing mayhem 🤭☺️

at -15:40 there is a rock by a tree that looks like it was a big ball of yarn at some point (on the premiere, I clicked on it just as it was ending so I got on the premiere video)(Just after you said, "hopefully the next stop is some ruins, lets go"

Awesome. We see different things in the rocks all the time.
I'm glad you tried. Sometimes the chat has problems. I even get kicked out sometimes.
So we just back out and try again. Most of the time that works.
Hopefully next Friday you can get in the chat 🙏. Thanks for watching 👀 👍

Enjoyable vid, thanks for presenting it. Question: In all of the previous videos by others doing much the same as yourself, the rocks used in the various constructions look to have ben selected in random sizes and shapes. The stones in this Park look to have been "dressed" into almost squared shapes. Any comment in the Parks to if these were shaped? Different culture? Perhaps later culture, moving past irregular material?

I've been learning as much as I can while I'm here. Sounds like there are 4 different styles in this area. Most of these seem to be the Mesa Verde style. But I can also see some of them have been repaired too. There wasn't any clear information about how much has been rebuilt. Clearly, there are some differences. I know that the narrative of the Navajo compared to ours is a little different 🤔. So I might read in between the lines a little.
