It's so good to see someone share the outdoors with their dog. I had 14 years of enjoyment like that with mine. He preferred my wool blankets and quilt to his own bed, though. No fun when he was damp or wet. Nor did he agree that the pile of kindling was for MY use. He'd transfer them piece by piece to "his" preferred spot and lay a foreleg over them. I'd tease them from his "protection" for the fire, and he'd be horrified. What is wrong with you??? Why are you burning sticks??? Laugh a minute. Excellent video, thanks.
Great video and very jealous of the weather- nothing but rain in Ireland!!!! I think this has to have been your best production to date. With your Osprey pack, don’t forget the Almighty guarantee that comes with it. If the pack gets damaged Osprey will repair or replace the pack for free. All you have to do is pay for the postage. I have just got my Aether 65 back and it is like new again.
Really enjoyed this ! ive been looking more and more into bushcraft camping this winter and this ticked all the boxes. The weather and light was amazing for shooting the video !
Beautiful scenery. Very cosy in the tent I bet. Great to see you and Darach again. Look forward to your next. From a very sunny and warm 30C Perth west australia. Hope you enjoy the festive season, good food, a few friends and perhaps a nip or 2🥃❤
Brilliant, Rothiemurchus is an amazing place to spend a few nights, and you couldn’t of asked for better conditions. Great video mate, liking the new tent!
thanks so much for the calming beautiful drone shots/music and details about your lovely quality new tent etc...fab vid.....i hve just progressed to a one tigris tarp and wee nice quality wee firebox/grill ..enjoyed some hot dogs and rolls n butter and some pure rain water from the sides of the tarp (thou had it on a slight slope /note to self lol for cooking).....for a wee rainy day camp and my old wproof tarp n coat n fleece to keep warmer.
Sublime location in superb weather conditions, Sam. Keen to hear you say Mhurchais as evidence of your Caledonian authenticity, but I must have missed it. Judging by better-known Gaelic names, I expect there'll have been a v at the start and an -ish at the end, with a violently rolled r and throat-clearing ch in the middle. Was actually waylaid by the absolutely mesmerising drone shots. In fact, you must by now have enough footage to make a self-standing video collage of Highland forests (or lack of them) from the air. Music-enhanced, of course. With the main topographical features captioned. And free of bla-bla-bla! Easy to tell I've never produced anything like this myself, isn't it? The work you put in is very much appreciated and enjoyed, though. As the folk below demonstrate. Well, all except the muttonhead - but you despatch him effectively ...
Great video. You definitely look your happiest in this weather. The tent looked fab, really like how it opened up on the side too. Would like to see it on a ridge line. May hold its shape better. Thankyou.
Relly want to try with my little dog was up killin for 5 months we lovd it walking down woods across from us but relly wat to try this in winter our home is the most loveliest in the world 🌎 thank you for showing this stay safe old Scottish lady 😅 all best letitia 😊
What a beautiful place! Thank you for enduring the cold temperatures so we could enjoy the beautiful scenery! The walk you took us on really displayed the beauty of green and white contrasts. The music you chose for that part was so lovely!! We're still waiting for winter proper here so we really enjoyed yours! Thanks again - from Michigan USA!
Just a beautiful video! Edited so nicely. Gorgeous forest blanketed with snow and your setup was great. Been watching your videos for awhile now and I always enjoy them. I love your pup too. Drone footage was excellent. Thank you for the hard work you've put into the channel. Take care and look forward to more videos. 💯👍🐾🏕️🌳🌲
No words can describe just how beautiful that place is. one of your best videos yet! I've not long been in from work, had to watch lol. Thank you for sharing ☺
Very versatile tent luxury camp but in this weather beats huddled into sleeping bag by 5pm 😂I'm new but finding processing wood very relaxing rather than hardwork and the campfire brings out the inner child in us all calming relaxing and tranquil great vid jotted down dog gear to order as gets cramped me and 2 bull terriers in sleeping bag😂
Nice one mate cracking camp and location. Thats my dream location there or glen feshie is on my list to go. Good looking hot tent i would love to do it saving up for one so hopefully next year. Great vid mate ATB.sam
Awesome winter camp. Cold weather camping is always better with a hot blooded fur buddy to snuggle up to. I am sure you gave him some of that steak ....
What a magical trip! Seen this tent elsewhere, looks like a really good option for a short walk in. What sleeping bag you using for the dog? Our lab is lean and really feels the cold.
Wow that was gorgeous, thank you for the amazing drone footage. Darach is adorable hiding in the blankets and following you like a shadow 😊 Could I ask.. is Rata Mhurchais another name for the area?
Thank you 😄👍🏻 pleased with the bag, very warm for little weight and no cold spots anywhere. It's not the most spacious though a little on the narrow side once completely zipped up.
Really great video. Just discovered your channel and you have a new subscriber! Can I ask about the Harris sleeping bag for darroch ? What size do you use for him ?
@@HighlandWoodsman thanks for the info. I have a golden retriever called Angus who will be about the same size. I’m going to pick up one of these for him. So good that we can support a small Scottish company!

Yeah it's just no fun without some kind of campfire or woodstove to focus on at this time of year 😄👍🏻
Hi pal awesome video. Only thing missing is first aid for you and dog. Very helpful video.
Thanks so much for watching! I didn't show it but I did mention I had a first aid kit in the top pouch of my bag 👍🏻

Thanks so much for watching, glad I was able to get it fixed!
Great video. A pleasure to watch. Beautiful drone views.
I was wondering, how long of a hike in to your spot? Thanks
Thanks so much for watching Kerry, it was about 7km walk in.
Brilliant video mate , what’s the jacket you were wearing ? Keep the good work up n look forward to your next video, take care Danny 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks so much Danny 👍🏻 this jacket is the Pilgrim Anorak from Giena Tactics.
Awesome intro. 👌
It's fun flying the drone 😄
Wow amazing footage... New subscriber.. ATB Chris.
Thanks so much Chris 👍🏻
Spot on👍
Thank you 👍🏻
Cracking video as always. Thanks. Just out of interest how much did all that gear weigh and how far did you have to hike with that on your back?
Thanks so much for watching! It was about 15kg on my back and a couple more for the woodstove and I walked in for about 7km 👍🏻
Looks amazing with the snow there ❄️
It's not Sweden but it was ok! 😄
Brilliant 👍👍do you have a link for the hoodie your wearing ?
Just found you, great video, just subscribed, regards Dave
Thanks so much Dave 👍🏻

When the fire goes out and your going to bed, do you close the front valve air thing? Thanks
Not all the way or the fire won't have enough air to keep burning but I'll reduce it as much as possible for a slow burn.
What are the estate regulations for fires and burning of wood?
I'm guessing you are referring to Rothiemurchus Estate. I'm not on their ground but as with most private estates they try to discourage people having fires but it shouldn't be a problem if you are following SOAC.
