    Awesome! Hey I use $1.25 phone screen protector from dollar tree. I size it up and draw it out on glass, then wrap it in cloth and use a hammer or something to hit the glass, there is a very thin clear film on the screen protector that keeps it held together. Then use scissors to cut out. This works great and I've done it many times

      Now that's cool! Thanks for sharing! Maybe my next abandoned car will get the phone protector treatment! 😁

    Man Bryan that looks perfect. I worked in a glass shop for 12 years and that is a perfect break for a windshield. Ron

    Wow! Thank you. This is so cool! I never would have thought to use this method. I'm looking to recreate a bullet hole that caused a crack across the entire windshield. I think, based on what you've shown here, I'll be able to accomplish that.

    Since you ended up with a hole through the windscreen, you need to put a few streaks of algal growth on the inside, and a puddle of water on the dashboard. Looks great so far. We had plenty of Mini's in New Zealand in the olden days, but most of them have rusted away by now. When you see a nice one driving around, it is such a great sight. It's hard to believe those of us in the British colonies survived driving around in such tiny cars. The original Mini would fit inside the new Mini's with space to spare.

    • @BGsModelWorkshop
      @BGsModelWorkshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point! Since I live in Arizona, I went with a desert theme. I did add a touch of moss to the window frames. That seemed like it grew there no matter where these cars are. ☺️ My sister had one of the BMW Mini's. It seemed small at first. Then at a car show we saw a proper mini and were blown away by just how small they really are. And I agree, we could have put one in her car easily! Thanks for watching!

    Minis, like all English cars, are notorious for rusting. Something about the carbon content of the steel IIRC.
    you can probably find that fine white sand at a model railroad supply. For laminated safety glass you could laminate microscope slide cover slips using double sided clear tape.

    • @BGsModelWorkshop
      @BGsModelWorkshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Very true, my dad had 3 Spitfires and an MG and we chased rust on all of them! Cool idea there.

    You might want to try white sillica sand which is used in plaster to add texture to plaster for skim coating certain areas sometimes you can find it at the depot in a plastic tub
