I am an "amateur" not a pro, keep it in mind... ...If you are preparing for SHTF: get the most common caliber in YOUR area (my area is .308; northern Italy = 99% of the hunters have something in .308 but no one use 6,5 Creedmor because they prefer .243Win instead - more "reloading choices here" -). Also the Italian army use .308 (very important for SHTF scenario). For hunting, again, is "region specific": inside 500m (little over 500y) .308 is king but over that distance 6.5 Creedmor start to "retain more energy" (because the better ballistic). But again... There is some people that prefer THE HEAVIER .308 BULLET also on distance (for hunting purposes). For target shooting: 6.5 Creedmor all the way. I have the Tikka Tactical ADJ (same mec of the A1 on a different chassis "less tactical-less sniper oriented") in .308 (i like "long range shooting" but unfortunately there is noway for me to do it where i live; so 6.5Creed for me is "less appealing"... GREAT ROUND DOHH...).
Those aren't great groups at 100 meters with this rifle. I shoot Nosler black box and at 100, it makes ragged, 1 hole, 5 shot groups. I have never gotten good performance from federal in any rifle.
Ehhh, to me, it's just a copy of the Ruger precision rifle 6.5 Creedmore, only thing i can say for a dislike, is the trigger, but if you need a good gun in a pinch, this will do, Tikka are still an exceptional firearm.
sniperforce34 well you are free to your opinion. To me, there is no comparison really. The Ruger is a cheaper gun in the UK and that's fine, the Tikka is just nicer to use, i have reviewed 4 RPR's and Two TACs as well as bigger TRG A1 and M10 from the same Sako/Tikka stable so am quite familiar with the marque. There are countless other competing rifles but for UK shooters, US guns come in cheaper, but as weaker value in my opinion. i own NONE of these so have no axe to grind
@@chrisparkin431 i own the Ruger precision 6.5, its a good firearm, Tikka are good as well, i cant say nothing badly, other thenbi just dislike the trigger, i have a couple of friends who own Tikka rifles here in the States, and ive shot them, they are good, if the trigger on Tikka's precision rifle was without the creep motion in its trigger, id definitely say its good, Tikka run for about 1800.00 in the US, but the Ruger is the same at 1299.00. They are pricey but worth the money
Chris Parkin So why feet per seconds and micrometer set in inches? There are two kinds of people. Those that use the metric system, and those that have been to the moon lol. Rule Britannia mate.

Can you please tell me the name of that muzzle brake?
The Tikka comes with it
@@chrisparkin431 No it doesn't I just bought my tikka and yes it comes with a muzzle brake but its not what you have there. Can you please get me the name of it?
@@VladimirKolombet if you mean the sound moderator, it's a Stalon
@@chrisparkin431 Oh its is, a silencer, wow ok. Yeah that's going to be spendy. Thank you so much for your replies
Nice review. Liked, subscribed. Now the question is 6.5 or 308? :)
@@grappolidipalma I agree, plenty of 308 or 7.62 nato anywhere, and cheaper too!
308 will still be around LONG after 6.5 creedmoors gone.............270 wsm and 243 too.
Those aren't great groups at 100 meters with this rifle. I shoot Nosler black box and at 100, it makes ragged, 1 hole, 5 shot groups. I have never gotten good performance from federal in any rifle.
sexy sexy rifle
that is not 4mm of overtravel mr expert. that is pretravel. there is no overtravel on tikka. you are confusing the neophytes mr expert.
Tika or Teeka😂
Now that we have left the EU can we stop using metric :D
Weak eye dominant no, because Metric is logical and base ten functional.
Chris Parkin So why feet per seconds and micrometer set in inches? There are two kinds of people. Those that use the metric system, and those that have been to the moon lol. Rule Britannia mate.
Frank B. Albaijés quite simply because reloading manuals are set in those units and because I write for multiple markets internationally, no single answer works the best when it comes to reader sympathies.
@@chrisparkin431 I was only pulling your leg. Pounds confuse me as well, would make more sense if there was 12 pounds in a stone so we could devide by 2, 3 and 4 like inches to feet.
Weak eye dominant Holy cow, let’s keep the stones and hands to the barnyard. USCS got us to the moon and back. I believe the Russians were using something called “metric”, a Napoleonic system I’m told. Look what happened to the Soviets, not to mention Napoleon.
