You brought up some very valid points. TY. I heard Riddler covers had issues with bolt spacing (having a hard time getting the socket on the bolt). Yours look like they are down for whatever you throw at them.
Many axles like 10-bolt, 12-bolt, 14-bolt, 8.8, and Sterling have a fill plug on the housing; and on these, you are better off not getting a cover with a fill plug if you beat on your diff. Other axles, like most Dana's, need to be filled through the Diff cover, so your only remedy is to get a cover with the fill plug up high and recessed into the cover for protection.
I saw a trick on tv awhile back where you fill a plastic bag with diff oil and place it inside then bolt it up. Not sure if its a good or bad to have plastic bag part floating around in there or if it just gets grounded up to nothing. Just a thought on how to do it with out a fill bolt.
@@robstienn Been an offroad rumor for over 30 years, but have never seen it done. But I challenge you to put 3.5 quarts of thick gear oil into a bag and try to fit it into a set-up housing...bet it wont even fit.
Another great video. I appreciate your content and expertise.
Love the vids!

I never miss a desert dog vid! Best 4x4 show on YT
The right stuff is the shit. It’s thicker when you get the non aerosol can stuff too.
How would you put the diff fluid in if you do not have a fill plug?
