very true. even more so when you think about FDR, who was in a wheelchair his entire presidency and never shown in it. always behind a table or sitting in a chair.
I sure wish he could have lived longer and given her and Philip time to enjoy a less pressured life that they were thrown into so suddenly. She really was a great and classy Monarch.
Yes even 6 months or 15 months might have made all the difference, especially to Philip and his naval career. There would probably have been a lot smaller gap between Anne and Andrew.RIP King George VI, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
@patroberts5449 it is true and they knew that they were in the presence of the future Queen, it's in Kenya history books along with England, have a blessed New Year 🤗♥️🙏🕯️🕊️✝️
I have read conflicting reports including that Bobo Macdonald had forgotten to pack one. I think the most likely reason that no black dress was available was because most of luggage had already been loaded onto the Gothic on which they would sail to the Pacific
It was so powerful to see the journalists lower their cameras out of respect for the Queen's grief. You'll almost never see that in this day and age.

They have turned into the bottom feeding paparazzi.

a lot of us wish he could have lived longer, but unfortunately he smoked too much which affected his health

My mother always remembered the announcement of the King's death at the morning school assembly.
It's so beautiful that the tribe of Kenya paid their respects as the queen to be was led away, beautifully done 🤗♥️🙏🕯️🕊️✝️
it sure is, they showed her the utmost love and respect

@ Thank you for clarifying the event because it is extremely touching and he is such a noble Chieftain and it says a lot about both the cultures.
I suspect it was pressure from GB.
Or ignorance of the crimes of perfidious albion.
Clare was impeccable in this role.
Rest in peace King George
Her reign began in the top of a tree.
This scene makes me cry every time. And real life, when we were shown aborigines watching Princess Diana’s funeral on a Jumbotron in the outback……..😭
This was a poignant moment marking the death of King Georg von Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and the ascension on Elizabeth von Saxe-Coburg-Gotha,
😢😢😢😢
Where they flying the Queen's standard on the car? They had one of those but forgot a black dress?

What is it that the young man on the tarmac is chanting?
I wish I could know, too.
