Yo! Nice Setup, the difference is unbelievable! About the programmer.. Do you have to buy one specifically for the bike you own or are they universal and you tune it to your bike?
That megabomb looks very nice! I was seriously contemplating it...read a bit saying that there is barely any performance difference than with the powerbomb....but damn it looks good!
I wish I could tell you exactly how much horsepower my bike is making now, but I have no way of knowing since there is no local shop near me with a dyno. I would think it would be similar to this guy's, "HighFive" as he's called on the page, results: www.wrrdualsport.com/tech-guide/dynotesting/71-dyno2 He has a similar exhaust setup, FMF fuel programmer and open air box door. His WR went from 22hp and 14ft-lbs of torque to 26.8hp and 17ft-lbs of torque. So, with this setup your looking at a ~4.5 hp gain and ~3ft-lbs gain. Which is impressive, since that's roughly between a 20-22% gain in power. I haven't had any trouble out of it since I installed the kit, except for the factory FMF programmer settings. They were a little off, because at a certain RPM the throttle would cut out. I did a little research and found that it was a quick fix by adjusting a few levels on the fuel programmer (and a few experimental adjustments of my own). She runs absolutely solid. I have almost 10,000 on the odometer now, and have no issues (but I also treat her very well). No repairs so far, and no need to adjust the valves yet. Overall this has added great throttle response on the bottom end, midrange has changed a little bit, and top end has increased ~5mph faster. Hope this helps!
SpicyPickle ok thank you very much for info, I think that you did a good job with those mods, its a very good idea to have a dual sport bike with a big reliability and power like in WR 250 F, ok maybe R model is a little bit more heavy but you dont have to make so much repairs like in F and other enduro models. I hope that in 2016 Yamaha gonna make some new model of WR 250 R because i am afraid to buy this bike now because they are producing this model from 2008 and they havent change anything yet except printing details... so maybe they finally gonna make some new model soon, I hope.... If not, I gonna buy this model and make the same mods like you and change headlight from WR250F 2015.
Thanks and I know how you feel about trying to wait for something newer to come along. I'm currently looking at the FZ-09's right now, but I also want to wait and see if yamaha fixes the few problems that everyone seems to have with fueling issues and suspension. If not, I believe I still want to get the bike and fix the problems myself, because the engines is supposed to be phenomenal. Thanks again Grzesiek
Hey David, I saw your message the other day and was going to check exactly what I had it set on after work and message you back (because I'm not quite sure at the moment), but I'm also half a tard and forgot, sorry! BUT I also have it setup with the air box door off right now. I have to change the settings when the door is back on. I'm sure you have had issues with the throttle cutting out with the settings FMF gives you, right? Just asking, because the settings that came with the instructions were not correct when I first installed mine and I had to mess with it myself, along with researching online. I'll try to get back with you on my settings as soon as possible.
Ok, sorry I'm just getting back with you. I run: Green Mode - 3 Yellow Mode - 2 Red Mode - 0.5 Green/Blue Mode - 8 Yellow/Blue Mode - 7 Red/Blue Mode - 4 I usually have my air box door off, but it seems to run ok for me with the door on and off with these settings. I've only had it hiccup 1 or 2 times in the last 5000 miles with these settings and the door off. I also saw where a guy on a forum I found had pretty good luck with the following: Green Mode - 3 Yellow Mode - 5.5 Red Mode - 0.5 Green/Blue Mode - 8 Yellow/Blue Mode - 4 Red/Blue Mode - 4.5 I had to play around for a while to find what was about right for mine. I hope this helps and good luck!
I wish I had some hard numbers for you, but I don't. I did the upgrade mostly for when I'm riding through traffic. I want to be heard, since everyone and their mother seems to be texting while driving these days. Louder exhaust gives me a little extra added security. The sound is beautiful with an open air box and K&N (which by the way, I actually saw a decrease in top speed with the K&N before the exhaust install). As far as power increase? Yes, there is a bit of an increase down low, so acceleration has improved. Mid-range is about the same. Top end...really not much of a change there, although it gets to the top end a little quicker. I did run the bike a little more rich the other day and was able to reach 101mph on the interstate, BUT I was fully tucked AND was in that sweet spot coming up behind an 18-wheeler that cut away all wind resistance. I know this may not really answer your question, because I know when I was looking I wanted numbers. I can tell you though that it does make the bike more fun!
JacobMcShane thank you for the reply the low end is what the WR needs I just got a crazy deal on a Graves Motorsports Exhaust System. will make a vid of it wen its on.. Stock exhaust sound is just crap .. also restrictive.
have an FMF slip on pipe with stock heater just curious if other have issues with the pipe running super hot, if i keep my legs in it literally will burn my legs to the point i have to hold my knee and leg out away from the pipe and only takes 5 minutes to get to that temp. anyone else have a similar issue? What can I do thx
I put the FMF programmer on last if that's what you are asking about. Had to tweak with the levels a bit, but it's best to use it to make sure air/fuel mixture is correct after putting on the exhaust.
Dude it sounds like a mx bike with the full kit installed! Fuckin awesome!

is it possible to run the stock exhaust guarded with that pipe? great video!

I love it...but sadly it doesn't have that nice, pretty, right out of the box glow anymore.
all I want is the slip on so the bike sounds deeper, what else do I need to do? remove the EXUP, AIS? usure any help is appreciated
What is happening with engine after those modifications? You need to make some repairs more often than in stock condition? How many HP you have now?

SpicyPickle Your welcome:) Take care and have a good trips and adventures on your bike!!!

no top speed increase? not even the exhaust?
How much better is the bike now ?

DIEGO FRANCO Why don't you just heat wrap it and make a heat shield
Did you leave the side of the airbox off like that?
Only when I'm on road. When I plan to hit gravel and the trails, I put the door back on.
But it's LOUD this way. I can't ride without earplugs long distance. Great audible protection from surrounding traffic though.
Daaaang
wtf what is that last kit u put at the exhaust how does it do ?

It sounds like a Selkath with the slip on lol
Close the airbox door for the proper sound ya muppet
douche comment
スリップオン❓😄
渡辺翔悟 号フルエキゾースト システムです。 (No, it's the full exhaust system)
なんかい聞いてもめっちゃいい音ですね♪
パワー上がりましたか?
