Yamaha FZ-09 Top Speed with Flash Tune
I make a few runs with the newly flashed ecu. Flash-Tune allows for extremely detailed tuning and also has some pre-loaded maps with the software download. I decided to go with Flash-Tune's map. The only things I changed from the original Flash-Tune map was the fan temps and decel cut.
I still believe the FZ-09 is capable of 150 with lower humidity and colder temperatures and even more with a sprocket swap.

2015 Yamaha FZ-09 Akrapovic Exhaust Review
มุมมอง 3K9 ปีที่แล้ว
I talk a little bit about the reasons why I decided on the carbon fiber akrapovic over the titanium. I threw in a few sound bites of me riding one day trying to find the best spot to mount the microphone to get the best recording. All while trying to NOT get ran over! All rides were recorded with the baffle in. I'm currently riding with the baffle out and there is not a huge difference in sound...
2015 Yamaha FZ-09 Akrapovic Exhaust and Stock Exhaust
มุมมอง 33K9 ปีที่แล้ว
My FZ-09 exhaust note after the Akrapovic Carbon Fiber Exhaust install over the Christmas Holidays! The Sweet, Sweet sound of the Akrapovic is electric! It's made me ride the bike more and ride the bike harder (probably not a good thing)! The carbon fiber exhaust looks better than what I originally thought. I like the look of the Akrapovic Full Titanium Exhaust better, because it follows the or...

Yamaha WR250R Review, 0-60 time, top speed, wheelie, and comfort on the road.
มุมมอง 15K10 ปีที่แล้ว
Here I talk about the comfort, top speed, 0-60 time (then actually do a 0-60 later in the video), tires, almost murder a squirrel, and just the basic experience I've had with the bike so far. Bottom line, the bike IS FUN and at times I may speak as if it were otherwise, but I'm trying to be what I wanted people to be when I was doing my research on the bike...and that is honesty with little/no ...

My WR250R exhaust note before and after FMF Performance Kit. No WR's were harmed in the making of this vid. All starts and revs were done with a warm motor. I wouldn't dare rev her cold. FMF Performance Kit included: - FMF Q4 Exhaust - FMF MegaBomb Header - FMF EFI Programmer - Servo Eliminator Over all the kit has added some acceleration, but little to no top end gain. Overall I'm happy with t...

Thankyou sir. Better angles and a quicker video than most. Appreciate the info. Almost 7years later and ya video is still helping people! RSOT 🏍 MrFall >:)
How much do you weigh and what was in the backpack? I’m sure she was capable of going even faster
It won’t let me edit so I’ll reply to myself. I went 140 going down hill at the top of 5th. I’m sure if I hit 6th pinned i would went 150-155. I weigh 190 6’3”/6’4”.
Do you still have the bike? I noticed what town you are in. I ride up there every now and then.
Well on the rocket typically my balls are in my stomach so its not too bad. My meats real tough cuz I beat it a lot so I just lay on it.
It sounds like a Selkath with the slip on lol
Only 147mph? I was barely giving it and I hit 242 kmh (had lots left) and that's around 150mph... Did you tune ur bike?
Close the airbox door for the proper sound ya muppet
douche comment
your flash didn't jack the rpm up high enough? an did u install a bike side harness?
Stock pipe looks so ugly
Full exhaust or slip on?
Deve estar com Dbkiller, por isso está agudo. Não ficou legal.
I know it's an old ass vid but, mine has a dyno tune and I was able to hit 154. I also weigh 130lbs tho lol
Greatest Japanese 250 dual sport!! FMF system increases fuel cons + requires Power commander/Fuel programmer that are not cheap at all, so finally is it really worth it? Does additional power really change bike that much?
all I want is the slip on so the bike sounds deeper, what else do I need to do? remove the EXUP, AIS? usure any help is appreciated
What's the slowest speed you can go in 6th gear without putting strain on your engine and transmission?
I usually don't like to go below 48mph on 6th on my wr250r
What do you think about the low end power after you got the reflash?
Is the akrapovic titanium louder than the carbon or the opposite?
New Sub, great Vid. Female FZ-09 rider.
hahahahahahahaha hahahahahaha ladies ear muffs hahahahaha hahahahaha hahahahaha hahahahahaha fuck my face hahahahahaha geeze he was talking about his penis and testicles but didn't wanna offend any women who for some odd reason would be watching this video hahahhahahahahahahha
is it possible to run the stock exhaust guarded with that pipe? great video!
no top speed increase? not even the exhaust?
Yo! Nice Setup, the difference is unbelievable! About the programmer.. Do you have to buy one specifically for the bike you own or are they universal and you tune it to your bike?
have an FMF slip on pipe with stock heater just curious if other have issues with the pipe running super hot, if i keep my legs in it literally will burn my legs to the point i have to hold my knee and leg out away from the pipe and only takes 5 minutes to get to that temp. anyone else have a similar issue? What can I do thx
DIEGO FRANCO Why don't you just heat wrap it and make a heat shield
I like how he gets scared when he starts with the open header lol
Ive had mine at 153 redline in 5th never tried 6 ran outta room, check my fz 09 out
akrapovic has always the smooth and elegant sound :)
if the tire is rubbing off uneven then it's trash period
This video really helped me out by giving me a better idea how to prepare and get this done. So I want to add an additional tip for the next Joe on removing sparkplug caps/coils. These caps won't just pop out or come straight out. I also removed the bolts holding the radiator to lean it forward so I have more room to work. Then, I started left to right on cylinder 1. I began rotating the cap counter clockwise as if I was removing a bolt. To be able to do this, I had to loosen the bolt on the AIS plate cover to make a full rotation (this made me add graves block off plates). I repeated this action until the cap comes out. Repeated this for each cylinder.
Thank you sir very informative! Ride safe ride long godbless!
Gas quality and octane, ambient weather temps/pressure/humidity/wind, tire pressure, chain lube, engine oil viscosity and condition....all has a factor on what a bike will put out on any given day. Is your speedo calibrated to actual GPS?
I'm sorry. Did you just say it has just a wee bit more of power than the wr250?
It's funny how the programmer made it sound like a dog barking.
Laughed my ass off after reading this comment
whats the insurance like on them compared to say an R series, i know it would be different on age an a bunch of other things but im 19 almost 20 and i have a clean driving record.
Yeah, there are a lot of factors. I paid cash for the FZ, which really helps on insurance rates. I think it would have been a couple hundred dollars a month on insurance alone if I would have financed the bike. Right now I pay around $90 a month for both the WR and the FZ together. When I was 19-20ish, insurance alone would have cost me around $600, or more a month for an RR; even the 600 class bikes were that expensive. Now that I'm mid 20's my rates have become cheaper, but a financed bike still sucks on insurance cost. Try to pay cash for the bike you want and it will save you thousands, no joke.
Also, I switched over to Geico about a year ago and it literally cut my rate in half from what progressive was charging me.
With the same coverage I might add.
dat tank sticker tho..
That tank sticker now lives in a shallow grave.
Did you really use Turn signal at 147 Mph? Lol
Even at 147, I'm a courteous rider! Haha, I didn't even know I was doing that until I watched the vids back.
SpicyPickle Lol I guess it's just a Habit, not likely that a Corolla gonna be in your left lane passing you up.!😂
Yea but a R1 might
Jr p I know I’m super late with this but I just seen this video and I was definitely thinking the same thing lol
Daaaang
Ha, thanks! I flashed mine using the Flash Tune Bench ECU Flash Kit. It set me back about $450. I didn't want to send my ECU off and, for not much more, I get to tinker with it myself.
There are FZ-09 on youtube doing 170mph+ right now. They dont talk about sprockets just ecu flash and full exhaust systems. Is that really the case or is there more too it like sprocket changes ?
@@mathias6423 i call BS on a FZ09 doing 170+ The aerodynamics of a naked bike just won't let it happen unless you have a massive power increase like a strong turbo setup. If top speed is your thing get a different bike
I bought a zzr 1400, thank you for your fast reply anyways.
Thats BS. I have seen the MT10SP doing 170 on here
with the right tune an extra rpm.....right fueling it will to do it......
hey, thats cool how at 147mph you still use your turn signal, just hold on to that bar who flashed your esu? got to do it on mine
By adding the aftermarket exhaust did you have to do anything to the fuel? I know the bike is fuel injected, but was curious if the bike will automatically adjust for the aftermarket exhaust kit. Also did you put (or do you suggest) an upgraded intake?
I was told from the dealer that the bike's new map would adjust to aftermarket exhaust and that I wouldn't have to reprogram the ecu. I recently purchased a Flash-Tune kit and it woke the bike up a bit, so I'd say it still needs to be reprogrammed. My bike benefitted from doing so. I haven't done any intake mods. I personally will not do any "air box" mods either, due to the possibility of riding in wet conditions and potentially opening the air box to the elements doesn't sound like a good idea to me. I've also read mixed reviews on doing such, so that's another factor to weigh in.
I've done 156 on mine.
Nice! Maybe I'm just not giving it enough time to wind out.
+SpicyPickle or your's just has more top end. Have you done anything else to your bike?
+SpicyPickle m4 slip on and vcyclenut ecu flash, k&n filter.
Hey spicypickle sweeeeeet bike , I got my WR250r up to 100 mph ( downhill ) lol enjoy the video's,,,new subscriber ,,,LIKED ( thumbs up X2 )
Haha, you won't believe it but I got the WR to 106mph (which my speedo reads fast, so it's probably closer to yours at 100mph), but that was in the draft of an 18 wheeler that I caught just right before having to go around him. The conditions must have been perfect that morning. Thanks man! I'll try and get a new vid up quicker than this last time. I wanted to get a few more attempts at the top speed, but it just won't stop raining down here long enough to get the chance. Anyway, thanks again man. I appreciate it!
Hey buddy I just bought a wr250r and have been watching vids and found your channel enjoyed the ride and video ,,SUBBED ,,liked ( thumbs up X2 )
I appreciate that! Currently I'm trying to fix the WR back up. I took a spill a few months back and luckily it wasn't too much damage, but the speedo took the grunt of it all and that's a $300 part. It'll be a little longer before I do a vid with it again. I watched a few of your vids and you have the best terrain to run the WR. It looks beautiful up there! I subbed as well. Thanks again!
Hey, I just got myself the same bike, but in the charcoal... I heard you say you ordered a sport windshield? How do you like it? I just ordered one myself but it hasn't come in yet.
I liked it...I hated it...I liked it...but...then I hated it... I'd take it off, then put it back on. Take it off, then put it back on the next day...again. This has happened several times. The screen has slowly grown on me where the pros outweigh the cons though. I wasn't sure if I liked the looks at first and it does channel the wind towards your helmet when sitting fully upright, BUT it's nice to tuck behind when getting up to interstate speeds. The sport screen makes it look faster sitting still from the sides; at that angle it looks great. It's still a bit weird looking from the front though. When sitting on the bike, the windscreen makes the bike feel more proper and serious. I've recently flash tuned my bike and I'm really glad to have it...especially since I'm trying to achieve the glorious 150mph with stock sprockets and gearing. With that said, I kind of wish that I would have purchased the touring screen from Puig, since it's a couple of inches taller.
I was like wait. is that I49 lol and Lena? and highway 8? hahaha I'm from Cotile. my buddy lives on one of the roads you drove by lol small world
Haha, "what the hell?" I had a guy telling me the other day about riding the roads around Angola prison, so small world indeed!
how much does this bike cost, I really want this ad my first bike.
I payed $8500 taxes and all. If it's your first bike ever, I would suggest getting used to it in B mode. In fact, I would suggest B mode for the first 10,000 miles. I know that sounds crazy and it's just my two cents, but there needs to be a certain skill set developed before getting into the power(B mode is still a riot full throttle). I can also say that I have a friend that started off on an R1 and never laid it down, but then again he still had some experience on dirt bikes. It's all about the proper mindset, knowing what your limits are starting out and how you improve as you reach greater limits, and not letting your ego get the best of you. I didn't even let my girlfriend ride with me until I had 15,000 miles on a street bike. Again, it's just my two cents and you'll hear different things from different people. I hope I helped you out and didn't just ramble on. Good luck my friend and I hope you get one soon, because once you have one...you'll never want to get off!
I'd say...because this is why I did and I'm in the same boat as you....get a used bike first..something for you to just get used to the road with on a bike...it's much diffrent...then when you get more comfy with that used bike...sell it...and hopefully get 2k off your fz 09 ..that's what I'm in the process of doing...I have a gsx-s at the moment because it was my dad's bike and he upgraded and the 750 was all paid off so I took over that...but then
Your roads suck. Come to NC and I'll show you some twisties. Just bought my 2016 raven black a few weeks ago and have already done a mile long wheelie on it, where's your wheelie! Got enough road for it...
Haha, yes they do and just like our roads, I also suck at wheelies! I've probably done a mile of wheelies TOTAL! I'm like a cat man, I like to be on my feet! I was in NC a couple of years ago and it looked like it had some sweet riding potential.
Man! Ride with me long enough and you'll be wondering if you should've bought a unicycle instead of a motorcycle, I ask myself that often. :p Some of NC sucks too but there are definitely roads worthy of respect. Riding's all about exploring man so if you're ever in NC, look me up! Plenty of cool guys to ride with here.
+Nickel Reed haha, right! Sounds great man, I'll definitely keep that in mind. That's another problem here, all of my friends are getting old, getting married, popping out short versions, and it's like pulling teeth to get someone to ride anymore.
+SpicyPickle - I know exactly how you feel. Hard to get people up to ride around here so I have to go a little far out sometimes.
+Nickel Reed you really need to ride the main road to the front gate of ANGOLA prison - i actually think it is state hwy 666 but it is pretty good-lol
I just tilted the radiator forward and lowered it (three bolts) without opening the cooling system and disconnected the cooling fan connector. It took like an hour total, no mess no fuel spill etc. I did tape some cardboard on the radiator and front fender to prevent scratches.
I was swapping out with a K&N as well, so I just popped off the air box while I was there. I thought about that way before, but I was worried about clearance issues. I'm assuming you had no problem there? I didn't have a problem with the fuel tank. I had about half a tank of gas and only one drop leaked when unclipping the fuel line. I'm guessing the pressure wasn't great enough for the fuel to run out. This process took a little longer; about an hour and a half.
SpicyPickle Sorry, I wasn't trying to one-up you here. Reading back at what I wrote it sure comes off that way, but it wasn't my intention. Changing my spark plugs the way I did is only half the story. I try to avoid the tank because when I synchronized the throttle bodies months ago I put a small dent in the side of it. I went through a lot of trouble to protect the paint on the frame and tank but just after removing the protection for reassembly my hand slipped and the tank bumped the frame denting the right side. I was sick to my stomach over it. Fortunately I've since been able to remove the small dent completely the way the dent removal guys do on cars. I also recently bumped the mirror with my hand causing an Allen wrench to fall out of my hand and put a small chip in the paint on the fuel tank. To answer your question, no there weren't any issues with space or access through the front.
I didn't think you were being that way at all. I appreciate your impute! I'd still be trying to start a fire by rubbing two sticks together if I were that sensitive! Really sorry to hear about all of the trouble you've had. Have you baby proofed your house for yourself yet?! haha, just joking. That's usually my kind of luck, too. If it makes you feel any better, mine slipped off my kickstand in gravel about a month after getting it. Scratched the stator coil cover. I bought a new one a while back, just haven't put it on yet.
thanks man. I was going to try the same method. I'm also removing AIS since I'm already there. so there will be even more room to work.
Noob. Just caught up to the new exhaust vid. Sounds great! Want loud, take the DB killer out. Of course that'll help make you a cop magnet. Did the windscreen help? Couldn't see it that well. Looks too short? L8R.
I've been riding around here lately with the baffle out and it just makes it that much sexier! The windscreen and I have a relationship that grew. I would put it on the bike, then take it off. Put it on...take it off. At first we were distant and I didn't care for it, then it started to grow on me. Now, I'm starting to like the looks of the bike more with the windscreen. It is small and blocks minimal wind, but enough to get it off of my chest when highway riding. It's enough to tuck under when I "need" to get on it. I'm really considering a bench tuner at the moment. If I do make the purchase, there will be a video up soon after. Especially if it opens up the top speed to where I would like it to be. Thanks for the sub!
.....but...there may be no need to crack the top speed limiter on the FZ-09 if the MT-10 gets an FZ badge.
