Thanks for the review! My wife bought me this for Christmas and I wasn't sure if i liked it until your video showed me all of the packs capabilities. I honestly probably would have sent it back! Thanks again!

I just want to say - this one of the best reviews for a Hip Pack I've seen. Firstly - you actually have it on. So many reviews never show the pack when worn. And you deal with the net issue. Hip packs struggle to cater for the net. This appears to be one of the best solutions I've seen. Keen to get more thoughts from you on this. Is the net truly out of the way when stored? It still seems to stick out to the side - and would get caught on trees etc when pushing through the bush. Any additional comments appreciated. And thanks for the review.

I've tried virtually every method of net carry and you can never fully avoid the hanging up on brush problem. The best way I've learned to mitigate that issue is carrying my net in front of me or using the long handled option as a walking stick. That way I can see where the mesh is at and keep it away from snags. Other than that, you almost always will grab a stray branch or something. It is out of the way and comfortable when on the water, and that's the main thing. The slot is very comfortable and if you need to swap things to the other side the whole setup is easily changed as it is design to be ambidextrous! Thank you for the feedback and we are glad to hear you enjoyed the video! Thanks for posting this as I'm ditching my Patagonia Vest-Front-Sling because it just won't stay on my shoulder. Would be good to see how the other shoulder strap fitted on this hip pack. Perhaps you could do a little update about that please?

I am split between buying the guide hip pack vs the sling pack .
I mainly fish for great lakes steelheads using a centrepin setup generally 6-8 hr sessions with include hiking .
Ability to carry a longer bigger net is important for me as the 13.6 ft long and have a faster action similar to a Spey rod .
I am planning to carry a guide net , el jeffe or eljeffe grande net .

Joshua, that box is the "C&F Design Super-Small 10-Row Ultra-Lite Fly Box with Flip Page". We currently have these on order but they aren't back in stock just yet. I don't have the dimensions off hand but stay tuned and I will find out for you!

Would you say it’s waterproof or when you’re wading the waters going to be seeping through?

Good question. There is a TPU coating on the exterior pockets and the underside of the pack, which will make those areas waterproof. As a whole, the pack overall is water-resistant.
