    I apparently failed to film filling it. It is filled with half a bag of rubber mulch. Bags were like $6.00 at Home Depot. All together I have just under $100.00 into this build, though I did have some of the steel already.

      I’m wanting to make a bullet trap to help function tests guns when working on them. Our closest land to go shoot is 30 minutes away and makes it hard to adjust and test things. Is there any reason you used the rubber mulch over sand? And did you fill it pretty much full with mulch?

      @@smokedcandy a few reasons, it’s cheap about 6 bucks for a bag and I used about 3/4. It’s way less messy and it seems to be just as effective if not more so in stopping bullets. I am very happy with it.

      Thanks for the quick reply. I’ll look into using that. We have lots of left over steel 55 gal drums and I’m debating whether to use one of those or make one like you did

      @@smokedcandy no problem. I went with the tube because I know the bullet would go through it. The military uses the 50 gallon drums but they also keep all the area around it cleared. I would say use your best judgement. I’m happy with the one I made. Let me know if you need anything else.

      @@codyjenn8785 I certainly try. The commercial versions of this product are like $1500-$5000. I have about $100 invested into this. I hope it will get lots and lots of use in the future.

    Do you think you are using the entire length of the tube steel? Or could it be reduced to take the awkwardness out of long rifles.

    • @tradesmanfirearms
      @tradesmanfirearms  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No I don’t think I’m using it all. I think I could get away with making it about a foot shorter, but that’s purely speculation. As it sits I wouldn’t be afraid to fire very large calibers into it.

    This video is about 4 months old now, how has it worked out for you in the last quarter of year in use? I like the simple design (material cost), a bit on the side of it being great for pistols but maybe needs a steeper angle for rifles?

    • @tradesmanfirearms
      @tradesmanfirearms  ปีที่แล้ว

      It works great for everything I’ve used it for. You’re correct that a rifles tend to be a little more awkward but still very usable. It’s fantastic for pistols. I have yet to use a real long barrels but no issues with standard length stuff. I have noticed no degradation of the material inside or the chamber.

    How deep did you fill it?
