Keanu Reeves is next level - not only for the acting commitment, but he's also one of the NICEST people in Hollywood. He flies commercial, talks to fans, one time a small flight was cancelled and he paid for a shuttle bus for the rest of the passengers and rode with them to get to their destination. He never says "I don't have time" and always takes pictures and is welcoming. He lives like a normal person and that makes him even more endearing. What a legend.
He also donated his earnings from The matrix 2 and 3 to Leukemia Research because his sister had Leukemia IIRC. That's a huge donation! I also read that he will just ride the subway with no security.
It’s actors like these I respect that they put in so much work and effort to their character. Henry Cavill is a fan of the Witcher and he honored the character and Peter Jackson respect Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings
Henry and Keanu are the best. Henry basically walked into the studio and said please let me audition. They hadn't thought of him but he is such a huge fan of the Witcher games and books he said he basically would have fone it for free for the chance to play geralt
Being around firearms my whole life, and doing competitive shooting, it's obvious that Keanu put a lot of time and work in to his practice/training. Keanu and Tom Cruise seem like the only two real action stars left in Hollywood that really go next-level to up their own game to serve the movie the best.
The "Two to the body, one to the head" is a shooting drill known as the Mozambique Drill. It's supposed to simulate two shots to the upper center chest and an evaluation to see if the threat has stopped. If not, a third round is fired to the cranial vault. It's a very common drill to see incorporated into IDPA (possibly USPSA also) competitions.
This and the fact that they actively show John and other characters reloading their guns in the movies is why I love John Wick. A gun combat expert did an analysis that I saw awhile and pointed out the reload thing, that many films and TV never show it. Now I'm always looking for it.
Yeah a common cinema flaw is guns have near infinite ammo. BUT after it was pointed out a lot over the years more movies seem to count the rounds a bit more but it does still happen. lol
Such a difference in 35 years -- You want to be John Wick, I wanted to be Ted Theodore Logan, and I am sure millions wanted to be Neo -- the fact that he has transcended generations (and still looks relatively the same) is pretty amazing :)
This is part of why I love Keanu Reeves. He is so real and actually learns the skills/things he does in movies. I think it makes the action 10 times better to have it be realistic. And the fact that he is just a cool guy.
Said it before, but. It's kind of funny that the nicest person in Hollywood is also the most deadly. Kidding of course. But if real shit broke out somewhere, I wana be on team Reeves. Just saying.
Keanu Reeves and Tom Cruise are easily the most dedicated action stars of modern cinema. If you think this is crazy, Tom Cruise put himself and his costars of Top Gun Maverick through months of pilot training so that they could properly react while they were in the jets. And the Mission Impossible movies are basically just Tom's excuse to do whatever batshit insane thing he happens to think of on the day.
I remember them talking about desperately trying to get Tom Cruise to get a stunt double early on the mission impossible series. I think theres a few times he gave up the reins, but far less that 95% of actors out there.
@@goldenhate6649 In Mission Impossible 3 the producers wanted Tom to have a stunt double, but he refused. So he just decided to produce the movie himself, and since he was now the boss no one could tell him to get a stunt double.
It IS a whole other level... that's a skills training centre, not your usual range. Pretty wild when your job basically means you have to train as an assassin, and develop your skills to the highest level...
I've seen videos where police officers and military guys actually complimented his technique and training. Not only his firing and accuracy, but his draw skill. Was just cool to see professionals take notice.
Two in the chest one in the head is called a "Mozambique". Like a SEAL once said, "sometimes, it's winning hearts and minds, sometimes it's two in the heart, one in the mind"
I've shot 3 gun! Reeves would easily shoot in the top 10 of pretty much any local competition. The biggest issue of shooting 3 gun is its an ALL day thing. Get there at 8am for the shooters meeting and be there until 6pm. No breaks for lunch or any of that, just eat between shooting and resetting the courses. I've since switched to shooting Steel Challenge (which has been called the drag racing of competitive shooting). Course are much more simple, uses less ammunition, and still gives you the rush of competitive shooting.
Keanu Reeves is literally next level. He’ll go to the extreme to master his craft and it paid off. Keanu is the best actor I’ve seen and I love his movie. The man is literally the character he’s playing. He make his character very believable and real. It is amazing to watch and amazing. Keanu is one of one and there will never be another one like him
The best part, which I don't think I heard from what you showed here, is that Keanu actually beat one or more of the records that *Taran* set for shooting.
when I first saw this I saw a man who was tired of hearing praise and wanted some critique. Perfectionist or not, he wanted to improve beyond where he was and to do that he needs to acknowledge where he has room to make changes. Impressive as his skills are, I almost felt bad that he is trying to say no I messed up here and his cheer squad is just there saying he's perfect.
I hate this feeling. It’s like a form of loneliness or isolation. I’ll be sitting their telling my dad or my uncle or one of my friends about what I’m doing on my permaculture farm and I explain things that I’m trying to do and it’s like talking to a wall because none of them know what I’m talking about or they give me some type of generic advice that makes me think they weren’t even listening and I’m just wasting my breath and probably annoying them while they smile, agree to ANYTHING I say, and nod along like they understand. It’s like telling someone that’s clueless about cars how you want to build a diesel race engine and then you explain to them how the engine works for 30mins and then their advice is to make sure to put gas it… but it’s a diesel… F*ck my life…
Keanu is incredible. He is the picture of what actors should be. I hope to meet him one day so I can tell him face to face that he is my favorite actor of all time. He is also the last actor who's home you want to break into because he has been developing these skills for so many years that he is a literal deadly force. The man may be the most friendly person in Hollywood... but damned if I'm ever going to piss him off. I won't kill his dog. That's for damn sure.
Wouldn't matter. If you did some how piss him off, he's just going to walk away. He very much has the mentality of a martial arts master, best way to win is not fight in the first place. He would just remove himself from the situation, politely, and you probably wouldn't know he was ticked. Yes, he could, but it wouldn't be worth all the aggravation after the fact.
I've had a crush on Keanu Reeves as my "one" since 1989 with "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure." At that time - everyone made fun of his acting skills. His voice has little inflection and seemed monotone in every film. I didn't care - he was soooooooo handsome. Even when I got married, I told my husband to deal with it, Keanu was not going away. 🤣 I met him by chance in 1992. I was 22 yrs old & sitting in this hippie restaurant in my college town here of Gainesville, Florida at a bar counter with the circle seats that spinning cause it's irresistible. Well, I was spinning. Keanu & River Phoenix sat on each side of me. River, we all knew because he lived with his family 10 minute away. His siblings Leaf (Joaquin Phoenix), Liberty, & Summer were always downtown also. The restaurant was vegan & we all ordered huevos rancheros. I hung on Keanu's every word and every movement he made - while trying not to make it obvious. 😬 I was dying inside. HE WAS SO FUNNY & KIND! There was a big Presidential rally with Bill Clinton on our campus, University of Florida 🐊, they said they were going to & asked if I wanted to go & hang out. It was one of the best days in my whole life even though I was a member of the young Republican Club at the University. 🤣 Now, he's known as the nicest guy ever (along with my favorite in music Dave Grohl) and I'M SO GLAD everyone loves him like I do (although he's still mine 😉🤣).
@Alex Hefner, this was exciting to see!! Thanks for sharing Keanu Reeves’s training on making the formation and quick-handling that he utilizes for becoming John Wick! So cool! Also, I liked your positive, influential message at the end of the video. And that included, “gosh darnit,” on motivating yourself and finding positive, inspirational things. Haha 😂
It's amazing how much he's able to take in and learn and have so many new skills he can soak up. He really reminds me of that Neo character from the Matrix!
One of my all time fav actors and humans on this planet! He is simply awesome. So humble you would never know he was a A-lister cause he doesn't act like one at all! He just cares so much for people around him. I love almost every movie Reeves has been in he gives 300% to every roll! Canada's best export hands down lol!
Keanu is the man! I hear and resonate with you Alex, when you say about going all in on whatever it is you do. I need more of that in my life actually- too often I don't give it 110%, and I really should. This kind of video is inspiring!
The best thing about these videos of Keanu at the range other than his excellent performance is seeing just how plainly he wishes the gun-range-girls would stop fawning over him.
Keanu is different. He’s an awesome actor he gives 110% all the time. He’s very humble and down to earth. And he’s Canadian, just thought I’d add that in there cause a lot of people probably don’t know
Keanu doesn't do a lot of films, but when he does, he goes the extra mile and i fully respect him for that. He could've used a stunt double and call it a day but he decided to train hard to get those skills and that's what makes these films so great.
What is that Jordan Peterson says? “ if your gonna be a dishwasher, make sure that you’re the best damn dishwasher that you can be.”… or something like that… Perfection is noticed…
All heart, he has always seemed to really care about people, his profession, his hobbies and I have always had a lot of respect for him, even back when he was “cheesy”. I believe he is an amazing individual and if I miss judge him he is a much better actor than I thought lol❤️
Let’s also note that he started his martial arts and weapons training for The Matrix. The footage from that training was pretty cool as well. Back in the days when you had to buy the dvd to get the special features that came along with the movie.
When Keanu reloads the shotgun - it's a DOUBLE reload, two cartriges at the same time, I now understand that is very skilled and hard to do. Impressive!
Man, it’s nuts to think that Keanu Reeves literally has all of the skills of John Wick, like he could actually do this stuff to someone in real life, him and Tom Cruise’s pure dedication to their craft is absolutely insane and I respect the hell out of them
I shoot a ton and it is way more engaging to shoot at steels, since you get that instant feedback. You should see if you can find a range that has steel plates and give it a shot. Way way more fun and you won't want to shoot at paper anymore
Nicest guy on the planet. Can also dismantle you with weapons or without. Gotta love it. I've done some three gun stuff, but my times were never really great. I was raised hunting and fishing, so I'm accurate, just not the quickest. All in all, I'll take it. I also constantly train the two and one method.
This is actually the reason some people dislike certain actors that always play themselves. It’s a lot more authentic when you’re real, but anyone can be themselves. That’s the difference between some actors. People like Tom Cruise, Jackie Chan, and Keanu not only become what the role is, they become something that’s genuinely impressive for the role.
Makes me think of how Tom Cruise was actually flying ridiculous stunts in a chopper and for Maverick learning to fly a jet and being able to when filming while in the back seat keep it together during filming without throwing up or passing out. This is method to the core and it shows. LOVE IT!
Two shots to the chest (center of mass), one to the head is known as a Mozambique drill. It's taught in close-quarters combat training. Usually two shots to the center of mass (double-tap) will stop an opponent, but the shot to the head pretty much absolutely guarantees that the opponent is no longer an active participant in the fight.
This kind of training is why the John Wick movies are the real live action version of Cowboy Bebop & Keanu Reeves is the real live action version of Spike Speigle
@7:20 The 2 to the chest, and 1 to the head is what is known as the Mozambique technique or failure to stop drill. It came about during the Mozambique wars in the 60s. A mericnary shot a guy in the chest twice, and he was still charging at him. He then placed a 3rd round in his head, immediately stopping the threat. Other military units around the world have adopted it, as well as some SWAT units.
Keanu Reeves is a golden retviever in human form who can play wolf when needed. Words can not describe how much I love him. ALSO, to think that John Wick went on a murdering rampage after they killed his puppy? Relateable.
People dog reaction channels but I love them, if it wasn't for your reaction to this video of Keanu, I'd never see it. Reaction channels are helping expose people to new music and random clips. I dig it.
7:14 - That's known as the Mozambique Drill (or Failure Drill, apparently). Two to the body, one to the head. I'm unsure how wide spread the technique is in actual use, but it's pretty popular for shooting drills and in fiction (games and movies) because it looks cool as hell.
Alex, fun fact: Taran Butler is also the owner of Taran Tactical. He not only trained all the actors in proper gun usage, clearing and gun play; he also provided the majority of the weapons through his company and even made some for the movie that are now available to the public. Without Taran Butler and his company, John Wick would not be the movie it is. Without Keanu there would never be the John Wick we know and love.
Agreed 100%
You said nicest in hollywood, bit I think it's fair to say he is one of the nicest people on earth.
He also donated his earnings from The matrix 2 and 3 to Leukemia Research because his sister had Leukemia IIRC. That's a huge donation! I also read that he will just ride the subway with no security.
Well said.
As always.
In basically every single video ever made.
Yup! Everything I have ever seen, or heard about him out in the real world he has been a very humble, and down to earth guy.
At 7:28 when hes reloading the shotgun, he actually reloads 4 shells, 2 sets double stacked, very impressive move!

This is what makes him an amazing actor, he properly becomes the character. Helps that Keanu is a living legend
Outside of John Wick, Keanu Reeves is a gun enthusiast. He is simply amazing when it comes to guns and is very competitive.
Keanu is an actor of focus, commitment, and sheer frakkin' will.
This and the fact that they actively show John and other characters reloading their guns in the movies is why I love John Wick. A gun combat expert did an analysis that I saw awhile and pointed out the reload thing, that many films and TV never show it. Now I'm always looking for it.
Or you have actors dumping hundreds of rounds out of a 30 round mag and I'm sitting in the theater like RELOAD ALREADY
Yeah a common cinema flaw is guns have near infinite ammo. BUT after it was pointed out a lot over the years more movies seem to count the rounds a bit more but it does still happen. lol

@7:20
The 2 to the chest, and 1 to the head is what is known as the Mozambique technique or failure to stop drill. It came about during the Mozambique wars in the 60s. A mericnary shot a guy in the chest twice, and he was still charging at him. He then placed a 3rd round in his head, immediately stopping the threat.
Other military units around the world have adopted it, as well as some SWAT units.
The "Two to the Chest, One to the Head" is called a Mozambique Drill. It was developed for military personnel, not police.
What's up Alex!! Hope you're having a great day, nice video.👍
I dig it.
Two in the chest and one to the head is the Mozambique technique
This is why I love Keanu Reeves. The actor behind the character is a great human being.
He also seems like a genuine person unlike a lot of Hollywood actors
7:14 - That's known as the Mozambique Drill (or Failure Drill, apparently). Two to the body, one to the head. I'm unsure how wide spread the technique is in actual use, but it's pretty popular for shooting drills and in fiction (games and movies) because it looks cool as hell.
I love the stacked speed loading of the shotty.
great reaction as all of yours are
Keanu Reaves, Shemar Moore (Swat), Chris Pine, Jon Bernthal (OPunisher), etc. All trained at Taran Tactical for the roles they played
Used to do a ton of weapons training, pistol, and 3 gun comps. So much fun!
He wasn’t the best actor imo but the goat for actors, the work ethic, his respect for fans. I love Keanu.
Hard to believe that he's almost 60, still looks around 35.
Just what I was hoping for!
HE'S NEO!! NUFF SAID💜
