- This is a longer format, live build process video. I talk about what I'm doing. Sometimes at length. You have been forewarned. But… the stamps are a hoot and the die I'm using it really gorgeous. In the end, will it be a hot mess? Or something just shy of awesome? You decided. All card supplies linked below! There is about one minute of footage where weird control overlays show up. I would have used the white heat embossed sentiment in black and cut out the butterfly body in black so you have black in three places as a visual triangle. Fabulous video as always 👍🏼
I prefer the black border if you're going to stack the two sentiments. (This surprises me because I usually think all these black strips with white letters often don't add to the unity of the design, but the black stamping beneath it needs a friend.) I would have used the pink by itself placed almost an inch higher with the second sentiment on the inside, though. Going with the pink butterfly was definitely a better choice than the orange. Still a lovely card.
LOVE IT! You need to start making two cards so you don’t have to choose pink or black. I liked both; the black because it neutralized and separated the sentiment from what was going on in the card, and the pink, because it made the sentiment part of what was going on in the card. I saw that set at SSS and had to laugh. As the saying goes, “I resemble that remark”. Beautiful card!
I was pulling for the pink butterfly and sentiment panel! This is gorgeous, and I am so glad I watched. I love the way the inset pieces became so much more noticeable when the second cover panel was layered on. Would it have worked to layer the cover panels before adding the inset pieces? That is what I was expecting. Just wondering about the process. Thanks for another great video!
Totally could have done that, but… i felt it was easier to add them to layer one, because I would have to have my floral die panel layers lined up perfectly and this took some pressure off.
As an introvert, people I know would LOL if they got this card from me 😂. Super cute card!

Yes, Terry! Editing makes a huge difference. Even this video… the original time of the recording was 45 minutes. I trimmed out 15 of those minutes! And that took a bit of thought. Lol!
I get the impression that you always talk with yourself while crafting. Now I don't feel so crazy because I do the same. Great card!
Pretty much always. Drives the fam crazy because of the location of my craft room.I have to work hard to keep my thoughts to myself.
@@czdesign - My husband is now sharing my home office and had to get used to my constant talking to my computer. I'm self-employed so I tell him that I'm having a staff meeting. Love this card!!
Beautiful card, I loved the pink but I also loved the black, it gave it the feel of a 70’s coke ad....& I’m a 70’s fan. Flipper, Flipper, the king of the Ocean.............💛
I wanted you to put in pattern paper that tied all the colors together in that butterfly SO badly.... 😉
The card turned out beautiful regardless.

I love listening to your thought process as you design your card. I kinda talk to myself as well when I’m thinking out a card ....but I don’t sound as if I know what I’m talking about, lol. Thanks for sharing...and for showing that you too cover up some shmutz (is that actually a word 🤔) with sequins. 😎
I have always talked to myself as I worked. Loved the card but I kinda liked the sentiment in black better but to each their own... Yes I watched Flipper all the time when I was much younger. You know I do love your cards and enjoy watching you go through the process as you make them it is so much fun - THANK YOU so much
I liked both the pink and black for the sentiment, but I probably would’ve gone for the black. For those without the matching dies, I think stamping in black pigment ink and clear embossing powder would give a nice effect as well! Love the finished product. 🦋
I 'm a Minnesotan too` would love to run into you somewhere cuz you are a hoot! I found out how I roll when quarantine started because my life didn't change much .... till the holidays , birthdays, important days..........sheeesh

Your card is really lovely and I like the pink sentiment. It makes the card more fun and lighthearted to me. The black is beautiful as well but more formal. Oh, and I remember Flipper! Cute show. Jeannine

I would have gone with the hot pink too. The black was also very nice. I love that you show the thought process and dilemmas you toggled with to keep it real. So very relatable. Lovely card and fantastic stamp set. ❤️💕❤️it.

Love this card with the new panel die....(I love butterflies)! Fun to watch you put it together! I’m on the fence about the color for the die cut sentiment. All the colors worked, like the choices you ended up with, Cathy! 💌

Amazing card. I am not an embossing/diecut girl myself, but you make it look awesome! Oh and I totally agree on the pink sentiment.
I loved Flipper! Who doesn't remember Flipper she (I believe it was a she) is am American icon. Lovely card, you have more patience than me it would have taken me 3 days to piece it together. I am torn about the black versus the pink. The pink tied I to the other colors but the black really popped.

Cathy, I am not a fan of pink. Yet, I love this card! I love orange but the pink butterfly was the right choice. And I did like the pink sentiment over the black. I have a old similar butterfly die panel that I need to piece like you did. "I don't want to go outside. I don't want to live in the real world. I just want to live in my card." Again, you made me laugh out loud! I've got to stop watching your videos at work . . .
Love this card. I have several people I want that sentiment set for! I couldn't choose between the pink and the black, they both looked good and you had solid arguments for both!
Love that stamp set , I think it would be one of my most used . Lol . Shame I live in the UK , will struggle to be able to buy . . Not sure what colour sentiment I would use , they are both lovely . Thank you for sharing your complete process . X
Love to watch your process. Yes on the pink butterfly and solid green leaves. I might have tried the sentiment in the green but your choice was beautiful. I like to zoom craft with my friend so she can answer all those questions that you have. I struggle with die cut inlay. You made it look easy.
I prefer black on the sentiment. Continuity. But the pink is nice. A little risky for an introvert, but nice! Thanks Cathy.

I AM a introvert and don t like the sentiments to much..Introverts are not anti social.We Just appreciatie to be alone also a lot
I'm an introvert and I think they are funny. Introversion isn't based on being anti social. It's based on where you derive your energy. I need downtime to recharge.
I love the sentiments... not anti-social, just very choosy about who, where, when, and how long I interact with others...even those I love dearly. I know others will ‘get’ the inferences direct and indirect in the sentiments!

I love your card. Both the black and the pink sentiment work. Another option would be to use your sub sentiment on the inside of the card instead and just use the die cut one on the front.
My idea would be to ink background only behind the die placement and put die on top. And both sentiments stamped in black ink.

Highly unlikely at this point. Sometimes when stamps and dies sell out, if they are not big sellers, they get discontinued. So sorry!

I am taking lockdown better than most as an introvert, just means more crafting time! Only things I miss besides my kids are my stamping and ceramics clubs!

Yeah, my lifestyle has not changed much in the pandemic. It's easier for me to handle so I work to offer understanding to those who struggle with missing the social life.

When you were cleaning up the embossing powder before heating it, I found myself blowing on the screen. I feel like I was your helper. The card turned out gorgeous!

Did you know that butterflies are attracted to the same color flowers as their wings! So yes a pink butterfly is perfect with the pink flowers! Love this die and of course your card is very pretty! Thank you!

We are all introverts in our house to varying degrees. I have read some books on introverts to help me parent my son and they have helped me understand myself better as well. When I volunteer in our church nursery I try to help and encourage parents of introverted children. Introverts are fabulous, deep thinkers and should be more appreciated. Thanks for this stamp set. Great card.

If I made this design, I would have gone with the black sentiment. I think it’s a little more subdued, 🤔🤔🤔. Not any better , just a choice. I cannot relate to stay at home/ introvert. All this has mess has done is make me afraid & sad. I sooooooo miss getting out & doing stuff. I am tired of making cards & paper things. Never thought I would say that, but that’s where I am at.
