You are, far and away, one of the most entertaining presenters I’ve ever watched. I throughly enjoyed this video. Your video came up as a TH-cam recommendation so I just found your channel. I loved this video so much, I liked and subscribed. Keep being you! ❤️
It's a lit easier to position your cardstock on the uninked side and then close the folder. You can move it about until it's in the right position, whereas you have to position it perfectly first time on the inked side.
Oh my God yes!! I tried watercoloring three years ago at my first Stamp Junkies - Junkie Fest. I sucked. I couldn’t do it at all. I like to emboss images and then watercolor so I’d emboss a ton of images and just kept practicing. Today, I wouldn’t call myself a pro but I feel pretty good now and get compliments.... so yeah, I agree. I think ADD is easy to get with the tons of monthly releases and all the products that continually come out...
@@lianealbert7728 Hi I really like to do water colors. I was sixty when I took a watercolor class in Crescent City CA. My first main painting I gave to my wonderful husband. But what was so surprising we had to put a price on it. The teacher took it to a our door fair. We'll I didn't want to sell me but l still had to put a price like I was but also put not for sale to get a grade. When my teacher told me to put $450.00. I was in shock. Sorry I took so long but my husband is with Jesus now. It was one of the many wonderful moments we had together ❤
@@ritabrandow1318 And you gotta know he's beaming with pride for you, AND is delighted you care enough still to share such a beautiful memory with all of us! Be well.
I'm with you!!! I SO very much enjoy all the "how-to" vids, but, when it comes time to tap that one brain cell that was supposed to keep track of that "perfect for so-n-so" card, I draw a blank, and canNOT for the life of me compose one in time for "the event"!!!!!
Thanks for the laugh! I cracked up when you went to dip the fan brush into the empty jar! I love that you’re real and that you don’t take yourself too seriously and that you can enjoy the experimenting process which I tend to stress about. I enjoy a bit of bling but imho I loved that first card in its simplicity before the diamonds were added. Thanks for sharing your creativity and inspiration to play with our supplies. Have a great day! 🙂
I just started the video, but didn’t want to forget this suggestion at the end. When blending the colors with the brayer, blend the first two colors, roll off the brayer on a scratch paper (or right to the embossing folder), then blend the second & third color. This really helps to keep the bottom color from mixing with the rest. Now back to the video! 😀 Beautiful cards. I love how soft the color turned out on the first one. But both are just lovely.
Cathy: normally I don't watch videos with a lot of chattering in them, but you are so natural and you make me laugh. I love your ideas and thanks so much for just being you!
I try to keep the content mostly on task… the clips I film live are a bit different than the ones I do with a voice over. I have both on my channel. : )
I know you’ve been an artist/graphic designer for a long time but started making cards not too long ago. I love your enthusiasm in general but when you discover a new technique it’s sooooo contagious! Thank you❣️
I love inking my embossing plates. They make quick cards with minimal effort. I have 1, I use so often, that I had to get a 2nd of the same plate. Using one for dark colors another for light. It's addictive.
When I’m layering sentiments I put the glue on the top rather than the bottom. That way I’m not holding the wet piece and I don’t get glue all over my fingers.
I used to craft but just not much of a card person. You’ve inspired me to pull out my embossing cards again! Wish you were MY neighbor…your energy & positivity is contagious and very much needed in my life. Thank you! 🌻💗
I love the way you try different techniques on camera. You give me em encouragement that I don’t have to do everything perfectly. Your teaching is very refreshing. I, too, am obsessed with embossing folders!!!
New to your channel so hello and thank you! Thanks for videos that are ones that are not only easy to understand, but are ones that give a feel of sitting down with a friend making cards! You do a really great job. Thank you for doing these! ❤️🥰
Love these Cathy. As a maybe try idea… I take my roll offs ( that’s what I call the card stock pieces I clean my brayer off on …because I just can’t waste the ink) and I use a background stamp and layer it with black or a dark version of the colour blend. They are also great for die cutting with. Thanks for another great video !
I just love love your videos Cathy! Thanks for sharing! Beautiful embossing folder & beautiful card, that was my favorite color too. C-ya next video 👏🏻❤️
I've always loved using embossing folders and it's so exciting to see these 3D folders. They are awesome and even though I have a basket filled with folders, I can't resist some of these new ones. Both of your cards are beautiful but I always go for the softer colors, so the hugs card is my fave. Lol!
Hello from New Zealand. I am so glad that I found you. Who'd have thought there was more than one use for an embossing folder. Thank you so much for sharing. I shall watch your others too. I am now a subscriber.
Let's just do it! You're so positive and bring so much fun and joy into your videos Cathy. I could never figure out which side of the embossing folders they were talking about and you just solved the mystery. I didn't love or hate this folder when I saw it. I guess I was neutral. Seeing this video just put it in my cart! You rock!
Thank you so much Cathy, I really really enjoyed watching you create those gorgeous and amazing cards, and I really really love ❤️ the first one you did. Very very elegant and stunning too. I’m going to have a go at this. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Such pretty cards. I do love embossing folders especially the 3-D ones. I have two new ones out right now and am going to use this technique. I always enjoy your videos. Keep on keeping it real! We love you.
These are both pretty, but the light green with the Hugs really is so soft and pretty and elegant. I need to take another look at my embossing folders.
Cathy so am I. I could never have enough embossing folders . I did recently get some new embossing folders but can't use them yet. I recently moved my office from the down stairs to the up stairs onto our enclosed front porch. ounce then I can't find my plates for my spellbinding die cut. I still have big shot dir cut however the big shot is just was to small for some of my dies n imbossing folders. That imposing folder is beautiful. I think I already have that imposing folder. Oh Cathy. I love your embossing card. It’s so pretty. I have many myself. I really like the darker embossed card with the dark letter background. Thank you for sharing your ideas with us. ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Cathy, the water on the card stock prevents the card from tearing. The light spray of water allows the card to stretch a little and stops the tear. Sometimes the pressure of the machine can push the embossing folder through the card. The cards are both beautiful but I think I like the hugs background the best. Thanks Cathy. Hugs from Australia ❤️❤️🐨❤️❤️

OMG Cathy... you had me laughing and excited to dig out my own embossing folder collection throughout this! Love that you gave things a try to see how they turned out and just forget about it if you didn't like it (aka the pattern that transferred to your brayer that you then tried rolling off). Thank you for always being the most fun part of my day and always leaving me with a smile! (P.S. - yes, your neighbors *are* going to think you're way fancy if they see that GORGEOUS card... Great idea!
Just starting and you’re helping me soo much. Lots of ideas in my head now. 😊

Fabulous idea Kathleen. Thanks for sharing. I would also suggest spraying both sides of the paper with water. It gives you a much deeper image.
Sometimes I feel like I have crafting ADD. So your comment, “if you find a technique you like, stick with it” resonates!

@@valumen I know, right? Kathy looks totally glue free when she’s working and I get glue all over myself. This has helped a lot.
Great techniques Cathy!! Love your videos it’s always something that I can work on! These are beautiful! 😍
Are you saying you put glue on the top of the bottom layer?
@@doriskilbane6089 yes. That way you don’t handle the piece with glue on it.
Fingernail polish remover works great for getting sticky stuff off stuff.

Love the green! Not normally my go to color but that was perfect. As always, you rock! 💚
Oh thank you!
Love the tips. I think I sometimes overdo it with the brayer because my colors blend completely.
