This reminds me of a meal we fixed in the Boy Scouts. Sheet of foil, lay out a slice of bacon and wrap it around 1/3 pound of hamburger. Then add any veggies you want. I prefer potato cut like French Fries, green beans, onion slices and carrots. Season as you prefer. On the coals for 10 minutes per side. You are good to go. The bacon was for liquid to prevent burning. We called them “Anderson’s Specials” after Air Force Sgt. Andy Anderson who introduced them to us.
Blackie , Another Great quick meal when you are in the outdoors. I thought everybody likes Spam Animal it's the greatest game meat out there. I have eaten tons of Spam in the woods and field. Once again You Are The Master Woodsman and Bushcrafter, Thanks Again for Passing On The Knowledge.
Thank you Blackie. I can use this at home too. I can no longer stand to watch a stove, so this makes absolute sense. Bless you for all of your help to me and mine. Hugs, and prayers for you and yours.
Where can we get that camp craft zipper bag that the pathfinder skillet fits so very well? I am really enjoying this cooking series a lot. Thank You for teaching us Blackie !!!
@@BLACKIETHOMAS ours were pretty much ground beef, seasonings, onions, carrots, potatoes, and maybe some bell pepper. We wrapped them up and stuck them down in the coals for about 45 minutes to an hour. I recall the potatoes still being a little crunchy, but by the time the food was on the plate, we didn't care. LOL
Very nifty recipe and strategy! I add water to hamburgers in the pan for the same reason, it just takes a bit longer to cook, pretty sure one wouldn't want to use that water for potatoes though.
if you don't have instant mashed potatos but you got a bag of chips, scrunch down real fine and ad water to bag until it becomes mashed potato.if you have excess water in frying pan, toss the water squeeze out mashed potatos into warmed frying pan many flavours of chips that can be made into mashed potato
Looks good Blackie, though I cant help but think that spam should have been toasted over some coals before wrapping it up with the veggies. The maillard reaction is our friend when it comes to cooking meat. I might try that with teriyaki spam, onion, little garlic, and pineapple rings. Being outside certainly sharpens the appetite! 😁
I have never before thought of spam as an organized food... interesting. It would be interesting if they made canned duck, but I would get in trouble for naming it here....
Perfection! Simple and easy
Excellent video brother. Reminds me of the "hobo dinners" we use to teach in Scouts. Mrs. Blackie's vintage 🤪 Tupperware..🤔 brave man.. 😂🤣😂
Simple grub, efficiently cooked. I like it.
I could see pineapple working really well in this
I appreciate all the thought and time you invest in your vids.
Thanks, Blackie. I learned something today!
Awesome! Love me some Spam, Thanks for sharing 🤠
Yup, that's gonna be good. Thanks Mr Blackie 👌🤠👍

neat trick, it could be used with a zebra billy pot also. Thanks for the idea
Rice instead of potatoes with teriyaki spam would be good too and just as easy with quick rice.
remember my favorite food when we went camping, in scouts or just with the family, were hobo packs for dinner.
you can do so much with them it should be in every camp cooks bag of tricks

At 7:42 you claimed you were going to add water... "ALL THE WAY AROUND IT". But instant replay shows you ONLY put water on ONE SIDE of the pan.
And it FLOWS all around the pan
true i had trained the water to surround the meat on command lol
