Yes I would play this, considering"Castlevania II: Simon's Quest" is my favorite entry in the series, then again I am a huge Castlevania fan. Wish it was available physically for my DS or 3DS.

oh this look so good. I love the map visuals and phasing, and Simon casting his shadow on things that are near. Please! make that you keep all sub weapons at once, once you grab it.
As someone who played the original when it came out, my jaw dropped at that seamless day/night transition. Simon’s Quest is a fantastic game, but it has some incredibly antiquated mechanics that you’ve managed to update wonderfully while maintaining the spirit of the original. Absolutely amazing work!
IDK what this is, but it looks gorgeous, and I want to see more. Love the modernized 8-bit aesthetic with the voxels, lighting model, and parallax scrolling. Looks fantastic. Keep it up!

Simons Quest is my personal favorite out of the original trilogy and this is the best thing I’ve seen in a long time!!!!!! I love this! Those 3D effects for the stages and background is awesome!! I love how everything moves in real time when transitioning from wastelands to the villages! I can’t wait for this one! I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for this! Kudos 🫡
Huh. Pretty well-made, think the only thing I'd say is that I was half-expecting THOSE words to appear somewhere on here, like the bottom-left corner of the screen when the music dies down during the transition: just out-of-the-way but still there for those who appreciate them
What you've got so far look cool. And is a lot more than I expected the game would have right now (Sincerelly, I was expecting to have a few regions around the first town only). The boss fight makes my head scratch a bit, because it seems like you had quite a struggle to jump over its hammer at some moments. Also, it was funny how the music of the boss begun playing, then it stopped playing like "Alright, that's enough boss music for this showcase". I'm sure that's just a bug, but still funny.

One of the best games. If it's not a big ask, please do consider adding features/dialogue from bisqwit's retranslated patch (maybe as an optional thing?). It makes the game make more sense by retranslating the japanese dialogue.
I wonder if you should, just for the first Dracula Item, have it type out, "You now prossess the Rib of Dracula." Then backspace over prossess and type out possess and the rest.

I like the diorama and new areas. I do not care for the italic font. Also, there seems to be a mixture of hi res assets(trees) that don’t blend well with pixel art. 8/10
I couldn't get the original trees from the game work with the style whatsoever so I made do. I color swatched the trees to match the NES pallet. As far as the HUD, it's a placeholder until I get to it. I'm focusing on making the world map and optimizations right now.

@@FirstServeGaming this has always been one of my nearest games to my heart. The music, while very simplistic in all its 8-bit grandeur, is iconic and a wonderful masterpiece! I have seen too many fan-remakes that basically have limited creativity and all they're trying to do is steal a few moments. They manipulate a few things just so they can say "look what I did".. "look at me"... etc... meanwhile, they have zero talent, had no hand in the original creation of the game they barely altered (just for 'me points'), and well.... I wont go on. lol (you asked!) However, I would ike to point out, you KEPT the iconic music, though I noticed you also included some other renditions from other Castlevania games, so far, it looks like you're keeping the basics and not changing the basics, but you're adding fresh content but still keeping to the original theme, and the artwork and design, lighting, shading is very beautiful!

A lot to like there. Cant help but feel the camera is a little too panned out though. I remember the faxanadu remake did this and made it hard to focus
The only thing not from the original trilogy are the trees above ground because I couldn't get the originals to work. Other than those and the water, everything is from one of the first 3 games.
After playing Revamped, I'm much less inclined to pay any mind to remakes that seem to just toss a new coat of paint on classics, but I'll be honest, this actually looks pretty decent. If I ever play Simon's Quest I'll probably play this, I really love just how much the 2.5d shadows and parallax effects add to the atmosphere. I've actually tried playing SQ a few times over the last several decades, and it's always just a bit out of reach for me. I grew up in that era, but SQ just really suffers from blandness, brutal difficulty and horrible movement. This version actually looks faster and much more playable, even if the movement wasn't overhauled like in Revamped. My only cringe with what I've seen so far is the modern font. Retro games with streamlined HD mobile looking fonts are just an absolute no no for me and for many gamers in general. Look up just how mad people got about final fantasy pixel remaster fonts having taken so long to be reverted back to the original...people actually bought the games and didn't play them until the font was corrected, or they just modded them or found ways of installing the old fonts themselves on pc. I haven't actually played this version of SQ yet, so I'm just going off the video, but as long as it's got a high framerate and no tearing, it really does look excellent so far.

Being able to see so much around the player removes some of the suspense and claustrophobia that made the original games so great. It looks beautiful though!

It was actually the first (and my favorite, as well) game that I played when I got an NES for Christmas. It was something magical, for sure.

The 2.5D graphics are outstanding. But 10 hits to kill a skeleton? Please adjust the hit rate.
You're meant to not use the starting whip at that point. I just didn't start with it on this file. Plus at night time everything gets much stronger.

used the 3dsen to make this nicely done or 3d software none the less nice job
I'm using Unreal Engine 5. I took the original textures and sprites and together then into materials to use on 3d objects.
