The middle section of the 2nd movement is one of my most favorite passages in all of Mozart. The piano playing triplets against the left hand; and the woodwinds becoming the principal accompaniment. it's so beautiful.
I have watched this video over and over again. This is what I consider a great piece of art. You can argue that Mozart is great, I agree with that. What you must recognize is this: a Shakespeare play is an interesting thing to read, but it touches your soul when you see it been performed by a genius actor. This genius in this case is Mister Christopher Park. Not only is wonderful to hear it, but you can perceive the master behind the piano seen it take control over it to transmit the emotions of this Mozart piece. It seems like he is talking directly to your soul. This is supreme music: the universal language of the soul. Few people in mankind history have master one art to be able to achieve this level of mastery. Wonderful! It is a privilege to be able to watch this over and over again!
Oh God! This is so gorgeous performance! Either orchestra or piano could play alone and it would still be nice music. The phrasing, and the cadenza alone deserved standing ovation! This is the finest music you can experience. Bravi!
I think you can say for sure that Mr. Park has no disdain for this concerto in any way, shape or form. A truly brilliant performance of this eternal masterpiece in the most literal sense of the word.
Whoever operated the camera is definetely in love with the pianist an the flute player! Marvelous concert, thanks to Paarvo Järvi and the RSO Frankfurt.
The pianist has such confidence as well as stamina; from his face expression i can feel that he is totally into it- the King of all piano concertos. Watching him is an experience indeed.
Wonderful! Thank you for sharing all that beauty and skill with us. Maestro Jarvi is surely one of the finest conductors in the world today. The pianist is superb.
This is a wonderful concerto, wonderfully performed with great pianistic and facial expression by Christopher Park and the FRSO. And I must mention too the facial expression and demeanor of flautist Clara Andrada, who, in the dozen or so videos I've seen where she has been in the orchestra, always shows her interest and involvement in all the music she's performing. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and her winning personality adds an extra dimension to the overall excellent performances by the orchestra.
Mozart would have enjoyed this. Park, Jarvi the principals of violin 1, f. horn. flute, oboe, bassoon,, cello, and every member of this wonderful orchestra is class and total enjoyment. Thanks.
The Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K. 466, was composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1785. The first performance took place at the Mehlgrube Casino in Vienna on 11 February 1785, with the composer as the soloist. ♥ What a fascinating orchestral dialogue and great praise to all who brought this to life again. Here the piano's clarity and ping is a key part of the dialogue. Bravo! Mozart's ability to balance structure and expressiveness, and to convey complex emotions through music, is considered a hallmark of classical music. He was a pioneer in bridging the gap between the Baroque and Classical eras. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

Hey, can someone please explain what hes doing around 11:00 in the solo part? Its totally different from Uchidas interpretation. Did he improvise, or are there multiple versions of the 1st movement
@@dfdhgtrss212 He actually wrote the cadenza himself. In the video description it says solokadenza: Christopher Park which means that it is his own. Its quite rare that we hear a performers own cadenza (compared to the 18th century at least) but I think this is a great example of one written today!

The delicate and at the same time clear touch of solo piano makes this perfectly composed concerto the more perfect.

Soooo gut. Danke.
Park did an excellent job, I like very much the way the piano sings and the controĺ of the keys colors

The cadenza in the first movement is brilliant
Great recording and performance!
A subtle touch on the piano and well composed masterpiece.. Love the expressions on the conductor.. Heheh
I think this is one of the most perfect recordings of any piece, ever.
well, it isn't... but still a good recording anyway
It's very nice the way he dialogues with the flute and oboe!
In this performance, Christopher Park becomes Mozart - absolutely magnificent!
I
Christopher's performance is polished and nuanced like no The only one worthy of Mozart's exacting and ethereal elegance.
Paavo Jarvi sound + Chris Park sound = heaven
Outstanding performance!!!
I. Allegro 0:50 (Christopher Park's cadenza 11:57)
II. Romanze 14:55
III. Allegro assai 24:02 (Joachim Volkmann's cadenza 29:34)
einfach großartig
The trumpet figure repeated at 31.10 is strong in this performance. It characterises the entire work.
Obrigado amigos e amigas musicistas!
He'll be playing with the Qatar Philharmonic orchestra same day as my birthday this year (piano concerto in a minor) can't wait
Superb !!!!!!!!!
Danke 🙏🏻
Wunderschön !!!!!!!
The final of 1th mvt is supernatural & the 2th mvt is deafening
Brilliant, perfect, ever-lasting
20:38 - 😁that smile 😊😊 I feel the same, the oboe sounds devine, yet cheeky

What cadenzas are these; They are suberb. I used to play this concerto with Beethoven's.
wonderful Mozart playing!! but is that a ringtone at the most quiet passage?! anyway, it seems like a funny musical reaction at 22:27 of Park...
German ochestras-the best in the world!
Mmmm
bravo

who's cadenza?
