    This Anker X1 SOLIX is an interesting product getting into built-in systems. This is just an introduction & sneak peak inside the devices. If you would like to see a full install or have other thoughts be sure to comment below. You can get more info and a quote if you are interested at: ankerfast.club/SCWithX1

    You can check these out all you want in North America, but they aren't available. Anker likes to advertise their products about a year before you can buy them. The big drawback with this product is that it is AC coupled only. That means that if you want to attach solar, you have to buy an inverter/charge controller as well as the panels.

      About 75% of the time hard hats are required it is to protect from smacking your head on something, not to protect from falling objects. They protect from you hitting something, not necessarily for something hitting you. Another sizable percentage is for a combination of making you more visible and more “official” so you don’t get bothered by people asking if you’re allowed to be doing what you’re doing.

    They're going to have to rethink this. Few people who would want this would be OK with paying an Anker-chosen electrician to install it. They can say it's because they're special, but that's not a positive thing.

    Thanks Chris. Good to know it's out there. I follow the old saying, don't buy the first model year. I'd also want to see a long term use review before buying. I'v seen Tesla Power Wall reviews about just using the Power Wall not line power. The Tesla didn't last very long for a small So Cal family, 1100 sqft house with car charger. Limitations arrgg.

      This can be wise, as you know I show a lot of Ecoflow products and currently that's what have in my own house. They are now on their 3rd generation. It's exciting to see Anker getting into this space and this product may end up fantastic but as you say only time can tell that. But I didn't want to not show this and check it out with the opportunity. But the system has been returned to them.

      I don't mind the certified installer requirement since I'd never be the one to install it, but, yeah, it would be nice if they at least said each battery pack costs $x and the minimum configuration with the following items will cost $y. I’ve been debating whole house power to get coupled with my solar.
    I want to be 100% self sustainable if needed, and the only way to avoid blackouts is home battery units.
    Our electric rates here are dumb (no metered rates) and solar obviously gets sold to the utility at a “lower” rate than what we buy for. (We sell to them at 50-60% of our buy cost from utility)
    I’ve been hoping something “cheaper” comes that will cover my house and future proof me for EV (yes I’m one of those people).

      So I have the Solix f3800, and it can work without internet because it would switch off WiFi to Bluetooth.
      This issue continues to be that ONLY ONE USER CAN SIGN IN AT A TIME! It’s incredibly annoying because if The Missus wants to check the battery state, it signs me out.
      Also, it lacks some features that the competitors already have. Granted firmware updates *could* bring those features in, but that’s only a “could”.
      I see no reason why this would be any different. I’m sure the hardware is going to be fine (my F3800 is great) but I can guarantee the app/software control is going to be lacking.

    At one minute and twenty six seconds, you show a “WLAN/4G” bung, presumably to connect an external antenna or something, but I was wondering if it has any actual Ethernet connections, as I hate WiFi. At the 1:34 second mark, you show a bunch of RJ45 plugs, but I suspect they for a CANbus of sorts between battery modules, rather than Ethernet.
    When they initially were talking about this thing, my only recommendation to them was to see if they could make the inverter modules 8kW instead of 6kW each, to remain competitive with Powerwall 3, as the PW3 is the standard to beat for commercial options outside of the DIY stuff of the likes of the EG4 stuff.

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think this model will only support WiFi at this time, yes you are correct the RJ45s are only for inerconnects. While I am glad that Anker is getting into the whole house space, I totally agree that the specs could have been higher. I am also not a fan of the unpublished pricing since it difficult to know the true installed costs. It will be a tough sell for most people, maybe Anker is trying to move too quickly.

    The pricing is nearly 1000$ per kwh for low consumer end products.
    That is absolute insanity.
    There are plenty of Chinese suppliers with extensive documentation and certification selling for the range of 200-300$ / kwh
    there are even Mexican suppliers for that price.
    and there are even independent companies in Texas doing it between 300-400$/kwh.
    Nothing in this product range in my opinion justifies the pricing. The home battery industry has been preyed on and abused by marketeers for too long..
    The fact you can buy a Tesla electric vehicle and use that as a home battery, with higher capacity, cheaper than some of their models is absolutely insanity
    They have some amazing products, but the home battery series are just not some of them.

      It does not "create" electricity. That electricity must come from solar panels, wind turbines, or from plugs into city power when that is available. Save money? If you buy the system to use in emergencies, saving money is not your primary goal. Storing and providing/utilizing stored power as needed is the purpose.

    • @WilliamMurphy-b6v
      @WilliamMurphy-b6v หลายเดือนก่อน

      @oscarcorral1428 I think the idea of saving money comes from places where utilities charge different rates for different times during the day. Under that system, you could charge your batteries from solar or even city power during the cheapest period and then use that power from the batteries during the most expensive period charged by the utility. Seems like a great idea, but the cost of a whole-house power banks (battery) may make the payback take too long. Too many variables to discuss in one video or in this comment. Among them are: Differences in rates charged by the electric utility in your area depending on timebof day. The amount of power you must need to use during the higher cost times of day. The cost of your power bank and panels (if you charged by solar). The lifetime of your power bank (and panels, if applicable). Whether or not you could simply shift some electrical use to a cheaper time of day instead of using a lot of electricity at peak times. You would have to take a very close look at your own area, the cost patterns offered by your own utility, and your own specific electric-usage patterns (and how willing or able to change those patterns you might be). Quite complex. My bet, if I was a betting man, is that the VERY high cost of electrical storage units (battery/"generators") might make a payback too far into the future for the scheme to work economically for most folks. Hope this helps clarify things for you.

      In europe one piece(5kw) cost only 1450€. You can stack 6(30kw) and of these you can connect also 6 !!(so 6×5=30 times 6 = 180kw )
      Its also tested in temps between -20° and +50° celcius.

    Such a joke and likely stupidly expensive. No one should buy this. Go to Signature Solar first if you don't want to DIY the go DIY.

    Whatever, these products are a dime a dozen and there are about 30 different manufacturers to choose from now.
