Very true. I still do almost all of my shopping at the municipal market and tiendas close to home. I do notice that Walmarts chicken doesn’t taste like bleach though and is delicious so that’s worth it to me lol
Awesome!! That’s a great location… I love the shrimp tempura and tuna tacos at Ceviche Corazón nearby! Yea, the empanada/cheap restaurant is on 86 and 30th. The haircut spots are up on 30th between 76th and 86th on the west side of the street. I like the one that says “Josue” in front… just had him to my haircut and beard and I can’t believe how much precision, time and effort he put into it! Thanks for checking out the video my friend 🏝️😎🇲🇽🍻
LOl, I'm in my 50s, I could carry that water but I think I would pay for delivery as I have done my share of carrying, thanks for thinking of us old people:)
This is a hell of a GREAT video and that is what we are looking for, even though we go to playa we have a big family and places to eat cheap are always appreciated. Congrats you got a new subscriber
I’ve been in a relationship here so haven’t dated but it seems like a great seen with tons of singles. Lots of very good looking people here in great shape. I would say if you’re fit, and speak some Spanish, you’ll probably do very well. Thanks for watching 😎🇲🇽🏝️
Hey!! I met u a few days ago over here by 88 u were walking to la 30..(older white looking lady remember?) Anyway like I'd told u I've been here since 2020 and hell yeah u can live here really well on a budget if u know how to do it...been doin it for yrs now...(Been living in different parts of Mexico since 2017)❤❤❤...see ya around the neighborhood!!😎
Great to meet you and hear from you Carol!! Thanks for sharing here on the channel! I found your story to be inspirational for sure as you’ve been in Playa for quite a while and seem to be loving it and we live in the same neighborhood! Thanks for watching 🏝️😎🇲🇽
Hi...I'm a new subscriber...just curious about how long have you been living in Playa? How long did it take you to learn the language? I'm thinking about moving to Mexico...I'm living in NYC now but definitely thinking about it!!!
Hey Jaya! Thanks for checking out the channel! I spent 3 years learning the language. Been in Playa 6 months. Was in Ecuador and Jalisco before that. Lots of time to work on my Spanish 😜
Well, I will say the Bonafont water is a little “softer” and more enjoyable than the reverse osmosis… but still not worth paying 5x more. I was also paying $50mx for the Bonafont every 2-3 days and it was really adding up. Never too late to switch and save some pesos though! Thanks for checking out the video 😎
Hey Catie! Sadly, I don’t know any specific barbers personally over there but I’ve seen that there are quite a few in the area that seem to have nice shops. Let us know if you find a good one!
lol, chicken empanadas? Where does she get her chicken? Local restaurants I’m sure will rather cook local chickens that been hand raised by the locals.
There's a massive Walmart in the center of Playa Del Carmen, and many locations in CDMX which we use if we cannot find what we need elsewhere. Thanks for checking out the video :)
Yep, that’s definitely a big one. I’m fluent and it helps me save on a daily basis but also helped big time when negotiating my lease on my apartment. Thanks for watching
Sup Mike! I still keep a home base there but am taking a break for now due to some harassment from the local PD. Exploring CDMX right now. Thanks for checking out my channel bro 😎 🏝️🇲🇽
@@theropemonster Yessir every other week too lol In Magnolia TX north of Houston. Also I take my 2 boys once a month. Holy crap I pay my barbers bills 😂
In MA Great Clips, usually one of the cheapest places is $23 for haircut and $10 extra for beard trim. This is usually people who just got their license & their first job in the field.
My girlfriend does ok here so I would say yes.. but with the same typical cautions as anywhere in Latin America (i.e. belongings in front pockets or fanny pack, not holding IPhone out where it can be grabbed etc.). Speaking Spanish is also a help for sure in this particular neighborhood. Thanks for watching!
Good tips, but would cheap living not be easier in say, Chetumal, or Progreso, or Campeche? Anywhere where there are fewer tourists driving up prices...
Howdy Jim, great question and thanks for watching! I would say with 100% certainty that you could live in those places (or almost anywhere else in Mexico) for less… I thought it would be a fun challenge though to live on $900/month in “the most popular and expensive” destination in Mexico and actually live well. Tulum, Puerto Vallarta, San Miguel de Allende are some of the only places in MX I can think of that might be more expensive at this point than PDC. Thanks again for stopping in, my friend. All the best
I got a haircut in Cancun last year. The place had great reviews. Got haircut, beard trim, style & full razor shave. I paid $20USD INCLUDING a generous tip. The person gave me his name & told me to ask for him next time I'm in town. Place was indoor & had cold A/C running. Even offered me a cold beer after the hot towel on my face. They also helped me exchange some USD for a better rate compared to cambio nearby.
Much appreciated Adam I’ll go check it out for sure! I was just actually in the process of planning a ceviche video and it sounds like I might have a new spot to include! Thanks for watching
Just wanted to say I been watching all your videos bro. love your content. I plan on moving to playa in the next few months. But like you I'm trying to do it on a budget. There are so many people saying it's not possible anymore. Watching your videos gives me hope that we can still live in playa on a budget. Just a suggestion, the videos I see doing the best, Are rental prices. And if possible try to post regularly, daily or every other day. Keep up the good work 💪
It’s definitely still possible! Learning Spanish is a huge x-factor in getting better prices on apartments and opening up more opportunities as well. Thanks for the kind words and the feedback my friend! I’ll definitely be producing more content regarding rents as we get more into low season. All the best to you on your move!
Great content and even better food, now I'm hungry for caldo de camarones y albóndigas. Thanks for showing the menu. The water tip is good also. Keep the stuff coming my friend 😎
So glad you got to try that place Jenny!! Can’t believe how delicious everything is there compared to the other “similar” places in the area. Thanks for watching!
The food affordability and quality of food in Mexico is astounding , PDC is amazing , wish I spent more time there when i visited a few weeks ago
Thanks. Great Presentation
So interesting, thank you 😁
My pleasure! Thanks for watching 😎
Walmart destroys small businesses….even here in US. Avoid them. Also you don’t know how they handle chickens.
Very true. I still do almost all of my shopping at the municipal market and tiendas close to home.

Could you tell us roughly around what avenue are these location ? Like 88? 68?
I'll be on the 58 and quinta in November. 😅😊

Haha agreed! I carry it most days but sometimes the delivery is nice, as I too have done enough carrying in my life 🥲
This is a hell of a GREAT video and that is what we are looking for, even though we go to playa we have a big family and places to eat cheap are always appreciated. Congrats you got a new subscriber
Much appreciated Bry!! 🏝️😎❤️
You can get the water garafonds delivered. 150 pesos for 5
How is dating there compare to USA. I retire next year and looking to for a long vacation somewhere.

No way!! I've been paying 150 pesos for 3 garrafones all these years!! Bonafont, the same marca you are carrying. Am I getting ripped off or.....

Do you happen to recommend any barbers closer to 42nd? Off of 5th of course. Your videos are so helpful, Renzos was great!
Hey Catie! Sadly, I don’t know any specific barbers personally over there but I’ve seen that there are quite a few in the area that seem to have nice shops. Let us know if you find a good one!
Good video, I watched it all. thanks for food tips. always on lookout for good grub. peace brother
Thanks my friend, much appreciated! ❤️🇲🇽

Yea I’m quite sure I’ve never seen her at Walmart buying chicken 🤣. Thanks for checking out the video!
Where do you go to a Walmart living in Mexico
There's a massive Walmart in the center of Playa Del Carmen, and many locations in CDMX which we use if we cannot find what we need elsewhere. Thanks for checking out the video :)
I was livin' just around the corner where You are now about 4 years ago
Nice! How did you like it? Ever any safety issues, annoying street dogs? How much was your rent if I may ask? Thanks for watching 😎🏝️❤️🇲🇽
How do you know when they last changed the filter at the street water dispenser?
Amazing question. It's hard to be sure but I've seen them there servicing that one frequently.
Another tip…learn to speak Spanish.
Yep, that’s definitely a big one. I’m fluent and it helps me save on a daily basis but also helped big time when negotiating my lease on my apartment. Thanks for watching
Great video my friend
Thanks for watching Dev!! 😎🏝️

Is it safe to stay and walk in these areas as a solo female tourist?
Traveler?
