I drive a 1993 Surf which is the equivalent JDM 4Runner. It has the 2.4 ltr 2L-TE turbo diesel. Good engine but underpowered at 98 Hp only. Only 216.000 km. Will be doing wheel bearings soon so this video is very very useful. Many thanks for your efforts.
Got mine from Yota shop, they're great and finally found a good youtube channel to learn how to do work on my own truck correctly. I have a 1992 Pickup 4x4 with the 3vze, I use it as my daily and I love it!
91 3vze 3.slow, found her at a junk yard 6 months ago, 280,000 miles, minor rust (Midwest standards), changed ball joints, alternator, belts, a lot of wiring, working on wheel bearings and valve cover/gaskets.
Wish I would had found this vid last wknd fist deep into my first 4 runner brake job! Ready to remove bearing races. 95 on 33s no lift Thanks for the video and imma gonna hit it hard in the am
I like that you have me worrying about my 4 runner. I got hella civics. This is my first runner. I work on all my stuff. TH-cam certified honda mechanic.
I liked the general breakdown of how to work this exact job on this vehichle. However, I do wish there were a few more close ups as I personally was a bit confused about where the cone washers were and what they looked like. This was my first time working on the hubs, bearings, and CV Axles on my 1990 4Runner and this process was far different compared to every other vehichle I had owned before.
Not many second gen videos. My 95 4runner 3.slow has been getting some love as of late and some things require a special sequence so research has been needed.
@@StandardAmericanOutdoors 3.4 swap lol. That’s almost where I’m at, my 3.0 is tired. When I did the plugs and wires last week, cylinders 3&5 had oil on the threads and all of them had an ungodly amount of carbon and the tops of the pistons didn’t look great.
@@StandardAmericanOutdoors good idea. I plan on limping this tired thing to Utah this summer, and then hunting season starts. A big part of me wants to keep the 3.0 and have it machined up nice and pretty.
@@StandardAmericanOutdoors yea, I got the second gen to be a little bit different from all the 3rd gens out here. Original radiator, and I can tell it has overheated in the past and there’s a pinhole covered in JB weld, not done by me lol. I would love to get rid of the ifs because I am getting tired of replacing cv axles and I can’t afford RCV’s.
My blinkers stopped working on my 93 4 Runner and I bought a new flasher but I can't find it anywhere. My hazerd work and flash but no blinkers. Bulbs all flash with hazerds on. Awesome vids.
I got an 89 4runner made 11/88 and have a parts runner made 7/88 but spindles are different. would like to see a video on changing spindle and knuckle.
