I hope they're able to smooth out the issues with the brass sounds before release. Dynamics are rough and you get those random harsh articulation spikes.
i figured out how to get rid of it a little bit. If you are just using the playback then turn your audio buffering all the way up. if you are gonna export it then turn the buffering all the way down. it makes it a little more bearable
Muse needs to release marching sounds. All brass sounds are extremely symphonic and warm, as if being played in a symphony setting in a concert hall. Would love more accurate sounds for the acoustics of marching ensembles
i hope they add some more sounds for mellos, contras/sousas, etc. a mellophone outside sounds a lot different than that french horn inside an auditorium
The first time I heard this, I thought "hmm this sounds like the brass in DCI" (I haven't read the "mellophone" written there 😂). Then I open your channel and see Carolina Crown transcription lol 😅😂 Thanks for this💛 I'm your new subs now😂
The thing that grinds my gears is when I tell brass forte and instead they get brighter. I have also had an issue with some note of the same dynamic being different volumes. I wish there was a way to toggle between dark and bright timbre.
@@ianbruns7103 Yeah, problem is I write for a marching band and they need forte but not with that super bright timbre that sounds like they are almost blasting. Also there are a lot of forte's in everything I import
It definitely sounds better in terms of tone quality but there’s still so many issues. And even some issues that didn’t occur in ms3. The other slap in the face with this update is they removed the marching percussion so people like me who write marching band shows have to stay on ms3. The orchestral side of things sounds very nice though which is why I’m sad they couldn’t make marching bands sound good.
I'm honestly surprised they released it the state it's currently in. Granted, this is all free and that certainly makes it all the more enticing; but it's unusable. I switched back to the old "bad" sounds just to have something remotely usable. The new sounds sound great on a sustained passage with no changes in dynamics or articulations. When there are however, be prepared for a feast of absolute shredding.
For me, the sounds have greatly improved since the making of this video. I’ve been working on a comp over the last few days and haven’t had many issues. There is still a lot more polishing to be done though

There are instrument updates almost every other day. I’ve noticed great improvements in the brass in particular these past few weeks

Yeah, this would be a cool addition! They probably won’t do it for a while though.
MuseScore will soon melt your face off.
Nice work, great piece to demonstrate the various brass sounds.
Thanks!!

Well, it needs development of course, nice sound btw, can't wait the finished product

Yeah, I also have those issues. I really hope they polish those details in the future. The sweet spot is keeping it under f

Totally get that, I’m in the same boat. I think that level of polishing will get there eventually. Maybe they’ll add a way to mess with the EQ
Musescore 4 is definitely very promising!
It seems much more polished than the version I tried a few weeks ago. I’m loving it!!
By the way it’s not VST! It’s a custom protocol

Sounds like a drum corps now! Might have to switch back to Musescore 😅
Whoa cool!
It's very cool! after years of mediocre playback, we finally get something quite good
@@ianbruns7103 and the best part... It's Free!
Why the auditorium soundfont?
my mello phone dosnt sound like that with the offical release im sad
If you change it to “French horns a6”, you’ll have it
I found that the range on certain instruments is vastly limited compared to the old version, kind of a bummer
No high f on the trumpet :/

brass sounded like cluster volume at the end not even gonna lie
Doesn’t normally sound that bad, audio got messed up a lil bit during exports
@@ianbruns7103 oh yeah I bet. Also ik this is kinda random to ask but could you help me compose this idea I have for the show planning meeting?
Sure! Dm me on GroupMe!

What muse sound did you use for the Baritone? I can’t find a setting.
For the baritone, I used either the trombone or French horn setting.
I think cimbasso on 127 is better imo for baritone
How do you get the mellophone sound?
It’s just the French horn a6 sound
I prefer Musescore 3 for the abundance of different sounds. I feel like I’m very limited on Musescore 4
Jeez - the jump from mf to f is like jumping from a spud gun to an apache helicopter. Why is there so much cuivré? Can that be turned down.
Not that I’ve found. The dynamic smoothing is non existent in that range
Sounds like a high school band if they didn't know what good tone was.
They still have a lot of work to do with it for sure
