It’s a massive improvement! The only real complaints I have are the nerfed ranges (especially on trumpet) and the weird dynamic boosts on shorter notes. The latter seems like a kink that’ll get worked out with a future update, but I’m also hoping for a dedicated DCI/marching pack with a more comprehensive range and list of instruments (namely baritone and euphonium).
The MuseSound brass is a huge improvement. It captures the timbre across the dynamic range really well. The brass slurring is also insanely good, even if it does have an occasional bump and clip. Thanks for the demo.
Actually I'd say Musescore 3 has the edge when it comes to dynamics. Many instruments such as trombones and suspended cymbal are not consistent and do not crescendo/decrescendo at the same time as other instruments. But it is still in beta so I'm hoping it will be improved soon
@@therealnocommonsense I see what you mean. I’m a trumpet player and it just felt like in 3 the trumpet didn’t really change all the much in terms of volume.
Honestly i feel musesounds brass is better equipped for orchestral brass than marching band or dci. If i were to guess, theyre probably gonna make a “musesounds marching brass pack” of some kind
rhythmically musescore 3 is way better, but musesounds has a much more realistic sound in all the instruments as well as a better dynamic range. A little disappointed on the trumpet and trombone sounds although the horn and tuba are awesome.
Trombones and Horns have very similar tones in my experience, and MuseScore 4’s Horn sound is incredible. So if you’re going for that beefy trombone sound you can substitute it with the Horn
The brass is amazing, but the strings are so rhythmically inaccurate, they don’t keep up with faster notes so I have to use the basic for the piece I’m working on
4 understands a lot of the technicality better when it comes to dynamics and articulations, but it terms of sound it sounds awful in my opinion. Especially with some of the higher pitches instruments, they just sound like they are in a tunnel the whole time and the whiny sounding tone mixed with the reverb just doesn't do it for me. Ill stick with the musescore 3 voices until the newer ones sound better.
What do you think about Musesounds?
Muse is great, started using it last week!!
The saxophone sound is such an improvement, this is coming from a sax quartet arranger

Too concert-style
i really dislike it. honestly i think ill continue using musescore 3

@@therealnocommonsense True, sometimes the playback is different to the actual notation of the dynamics. It causes a lot of issues for me

yeah they don't have options for bugles as of now. they could also add higher range for lead trumpets and solos
The crescendo in the beginning was way more dramatic in the muse 4 software

for some reason musescore loaded the musescore 3 trumpet and trombone and not the muse sounds version

Huge improvement.
I feel like a mix of both would be cool--- one of each sound per instrument
Maybe this is just me, but only the mellophone sounds different. It sounds more like a horn then it did previously
bro you are deaf
Thats because it is a horn
I can see what you’re saying but the trombone stuff sounds so so much better
0:28 omg it's the dark knight theme
Thats a very very large difference
Just wow
It's glorious
they need to fix the articulations and the dynamics
The difference is astounding....

Agreed. I only use Musescore 4 for slow pieces, the engine currently can't run technical passages.
wait how did you get it to play those notes outside of the instruments "range"? it didnt work when i tried it i thought
you have to edit the instruments notes by double clicking on the name
What is this from?
It's original
@@therealnocommonsense wow I was thinking “this sounds amazing what corps is this lol”
No 3rd low brass part is playing anything below F in the staff at ff … esp a low Bnat or G bottom line
Bro the trombone sound in ms4 is so bad, it doesn’t understand that mf and f aren’t completely different
Bluh
blah blah blah musescore 4 is better yeah. anyways that writing is supreme i would love to hear that in dci, props to you
