I'm glad they're working to improve musescore even though it's free, but I feel like every other instrument improved much more than the brass did. In my experience, the new brass only really works in a concert orchestra setting when blending with other instruments, but never when exposed. It's not versatile enough for multiple genres yet.
Um writing for marching band basically died. MDL drum line is gone and the MS Basic Drumline is trash and now mellophone defaults to trombone sounds unless you decide to use the horn sound.
its a real bummer how limited the trumpet range is. it only goes to i think Eb and doesnt even go down to f# i think it only goes down to Ab or G for some reason
It's because the samples are from a C trumpet which only goes down to a G# on a Bb trumpet (concert F#). The muse sounds are based on a more orchestral sound, where you more commonly see C trumpets than Bb trumpets.
what are you using for the baritone sound out of curiosity, french horn? Ive been writing in musesounds and have even posted some of my stuff and am not sure what sound to use for euphonium/baritone.
I just use the trombones a3 soundfont. I think the cimbasso sounds more like a baritone, but volume wise it's pretty weak. The trombone doesn't sound too much like a baritone, but it's the best i have. I hope really more sounds are added in the future.
Sounds like you need to turn the bitrate up or something, since I hear some clipping. You'll get a much cleaner sound, but idk off the top of my head how to do it. It's in like the setting or properties or something, I also had that issue
I think it's a result of my volume being too loud. It doesnt do that when I turn the volume down. I have my volume all the way up just so I can blow my ears out.
Is this based off the Bluecoats arrangement? Believe it or not, I recognized it and I gotta say, soundfonts are getting impressive. At first I thought you just used their audio. (Original vid here?: th-cam.com/video/YyzzG5MTMyM/w-d-xo.html)
Yeah musescore 4 soundfonts are really impressive, but they are really scuffed, especially when it comes to dynamics, ms4 has only been released for a couple of weeks now, and im sure they will fix things over time.
@@chipsleftwing export in mp3, because live rendering of muse sound is sometimes buggy. And I can hear in your video that the sound is not as it should be
If you really want the video too, you could synchronize this video with the sound file you exported in a video editing programm. After that, you can mute the sound of this video and export the video again.

Percussion: Am i a joke to you?
@@hallvardolai EXACTLY! As always, us percussionists are left in the dark. I honestly prefer ms basic percussion lmao
It’s free 🤷🏼♂️
MDL is fucking based. Waiting for that to get an overhaul.

Honestly i feel theyre gonna release a musesounds marching band/dci pack at some point
In terms of the new musesounds, yeah, but you can always switch it to MSbasic in the mixer to get those notes again
@@J-Crash of which is horrible sound quality compared to the horrifically buggy although good sounding musesounds

@@steverman2312 they're releasing a marching perc soundfont soon
That was pretty epic, I loved the last chord, it sounds like a pipe organ
its so good, the only complaint i have is that the trumpet has no high range lol
Yeah it literally won't met me play the last note
Lmao it also sounds like it’s struggling with lower notes
Great, love the arrangement! Which sounds are those?

@@discordfilelimitistoosmall7482 agreed I honestly cant believe the lower flutes made it in before the lower clarinets and euphonium.
I usually use tuba
@@gmanhoffman5219 the tuba range can’t support the euphonium parts any more :(
ffff on contrabass 🤣
I'm a tuba player, so I'm a little biased. shhhh

I think this is just lack of CPU power trying tovupdate the screencand play the samples, if its exported that audio will probably be OK

Remember when Musescore didn't require a subscription to get midis?
Pepperidge Farm remembers
I tried using musescore but whenever I click play nothing happens
The only thing is makes the mellos louder they own this part in the show
when i use muse sounds it can't handle low notes like at all
i really like the new sounds, but the articulations and sample changes with dynamics are still way to buggy for it to be practical
how does it sound soo good? is there an add on or smth??
Nah thats just how it sounds. I prefer to stick to ms3 though because ms4 is really janky and doesn't have drumline soundfonts yet.
Musescore has done so much to improve, but they still have to fix a lot more to make me want to go back from Finale
Can you publish the musescore file? That I can try it by myself ;)
It's unfortunate that brass only really works well in classical settings. As a brass band and jazz composer it isn't doing much for me.

Quite underrated
why should anyone have to use triple forte
just export your file in an audio file, the quality will be better
please elaborate? genuine question here I'm trying to get things sounding better
@@chipsleftwing export in mp3, because live rendering of muse sound is sometimes buggy. And I can hear in your video that the sound is not as it should be

The start does sound like swan from aot
bro this broke my phones speaker
Sounds better than God’s hornline
I held out the penultimate note for one measure to long don't mention it
Bluecoats 2011!!!
Musesounds is a 4/10 at best. It sounds fine and is free, but instrument balancing, range, and dynamic control have been completely ruined.
Yeah i stick to ms3
no trombon :(
post the musescore link
i don't publish my work to musescore.
