This one actually looked salvageable. People in the States are buying up old mobile homes and 'caravans' (we call them campers) and re-doing them. I'm amazed at how much room this caravan had.
I agree; that would be paradise living for a homeless person. Oh well; they have a plan and working hard and getting there. Great job. I enjoy your videos. Thanks.
GIVEAWAY! As a big thank you to all of you for watching and supporting our renovation journey, we asked Reolink if we could have an extra Argus 3 pro security camera for you guys to WIN! Reolink! To Enter: Just let us know in the comments section here, where you’d use your security camera if you won! The Details: 1 x winner will be selected at random on the 30th October. The prize reolink.com/gb/product/argus-3-pro/ will be sent directly to the winner from Reolink.
I'm a mobile tyre fitter in Merseyside. We are the last house on our estate, at the end of a cul-de-sac, and recently at 4am in the morning we had a "character" knocking on our windows and door, trying to get in. I was awake downstairs (I have trouble sleeping some days) and heard a gentle knock on the window which frightened the life out of me. What was more scary was the fact this person then pulled our door handle down trying to get in. A neighbour who had returned from a late night out noticed someone coming from behind my van and walk to our house. She thought it was me returning from an emergency call-out, but it wasn't! It would be amazing if we had a security camera like the one you have, especially with the very loud alarm it has! The ability to talk via the camera is brilliant too, and the night-vision is an added bonus too!
We'd love one at the back of our home due to an increase in anti social behaviour and criminal damage to property. So far we've managed to deter these youths but neighbours haven't so it's only a matter of time. Frightening when you spend long periods on your own when partner is working. Great show by the way😍
Our workshop is near but not visible from our house and keeps getting broken into so a camera like this would give us peace of mind knowing we could see what is going on.
I’d install this overlooking our garden. We’ve got a neighbour that likes to come to our property to shout vile abuse at us and police have recommended we fit CCTV to gather evidence. This would be perfect.
I would use this at the back of my house we live in a city centre and get lots of people cutting through the back of our house we have 2 old ladies living on there own opposite and it would be nice just to be able to see what's going on and that they are also safe
Hi both, we are a mixed age couple who like yourselfs embarked on a life changing mission to improve our lifestyle and be closer to our grandchildren. Its great to see a young couple achieving so much and we appreciate the dedication and hard work you are putting into your dream whilst inspiring others. We are older and as a couple of dinosaurs have sadly only recorded our renovation through photographs. 5 years ago we bought a coal board house in South Wales and stripped it back to four walls and a roof and have now completed 95% of the renovation. We have been fortunate enough to have enjoyed off grid and camping holidays and have passed our love of the outdoors to our grandchildren, hence we have included an outdoor play area using all natural materials for our 2year old grandson, whilst our 8 & 11 year old grandson have an area where they learn bushcraft from grandad and enjoy a firepit, outdoor cooking, logging etc, both able to use and axe safely now. The iveaway camera would be an ideal addition to their outdoor area as we are close to the river and forest and enjoy a occasional siting of a fox, 2 owls, bats and who knows what else and it would be perfect for the children to have night vision filming to monitor activity whilst offering us the added security opportunity for our property. Once again for sharing your adventure with us and good luck for your future.
Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to comment to us. I hope you know what incredible grandparents you both are and how lucky your grandchildren are to have you! ❤ Your comment has made our night. Our nephews visited last month (they are 8 & 6) and when they left they asked if we would buy them an axe for Christmas! We loved how much they wanted to help! So much so that one of our nephews picked up a saw and said 'just give me something to cut, anything' 😂 they were ready to be put to work! Thanks so much for entering. The contest ends on the 30th of this month and a winner will be picked at random. I wish we could give EVERYONE a camera! Thank you so much for watching and entering. We really appreciate you x
A couple with an age difference, my husband if 18 years older than me. We have been very fortunate to have enjoyed 38 years together and have 3 wonderful sons.
Thank you for replying, your channel gives us something to look forward too. We hope your nephews enjoy the opportunity they have with you both and that they get an axe for xmas. When our 2 eldest grandsons were youger Grandad bought them "junior" penknives whilst on holiday in France (we take them every year to a campsite on the river Dordogne where they learn't to river swim) they spent their whole holiday whittling sticks, maki g little rafts and racing them, we had so much fun. Our son, their Daddy, upgraded the penknives this year whilst we were all on holiday as they have listened and learn't about safety and needed to move their skills on. Our youngest didn't want to miss the action although he's only 2 half years old so his Daddy collects twigs from the walnut trees with loose bark and gave him a butter knive to strip them, he is now quite an accomplished bark stripper! The 2 eldest ones have recently been helping Grandad strip bark from treetrunks and they are all going to make a ranch style porch for the house. It's very exciting & satisfying having all these little helpers and saves them from constant xbox use!!!!! Carry on the good work both and recruit your nephews as budding little labourers, they have a great opportunity to learn so many life skills and to have safety drilled into them without even realising it. Have fun.
my husband loves watching the birds we feed. Hes recently had major heart surgery which leaves him very fatigued. I would use the camera so he can still see the birds and garden. woukd be a great 50th birthday present for him. x
Thank you to everyone that entered our 2 giveaways which ended on the 30th! We announced the winners on our community page on our youtube, but for those that didn't see it, I've copied it here: Our winners were selected at random... The lucky two are: Steve who has won the Pole Saw & Lucy who has won the security Camera! Steve & Lucy, check your youtube notifications :) we have sent you instructions so you can claim your prizes! Thanks/Diolch for watching! For those that want daily updates and behind the scenes content follow us on Instagram instagram.com/camp_out_west
Wonderful to see your home taking shape. Must be so hard to have full time jobs and work on your land etc while providing you tube updates. Hope you have great success with everything as you are a really nice genuine couple who people can relate to and be inspired by. Keep up the amazing work
Oh Paul, thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to comment. It's been slow and steady progress but we are excited for weddings to slow down over winter so we can have some more time to spend on the land 😊 thanks again for taking the time to comment!
I love how you reduce/reuse/recycle everything you can. So many people think that they can't make a difference in saving our planet, but if everyone pitched in the way you two are doing, the difference CAN be felt! Keep up the great work!
Its really nice to see normal people doing this sort of thing. By normal, I don't mean it negatively, cause you guys are remarkable for doing this, but you're relatable. You make it seem like something achievable. So often I see tiny living people who are already well established. It's neat to see the process. Appreciate it.
Ann 🧡 thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to comment to us. I think it's easy to feel like things are out of reach ( I know we used to think like that and would talk ourselves out of things) so I'm so pleased we are showing people that this is achievable, even if you don't have a endless budget, you can make it work!
We have neighbours across the road that have questionable revenue streams that require the local police to visit occasionally… we really need to monitor these situations to keep our family and property safe. Thanks for sharing this new journey with us.
Your potential issue here is you may make yourself a target of a hate campaign, ie having a camera pointing that way. So be careful! But certainly up for you winning the camera :)
Sorry to hear that, hope you and your property is safe! We are spending new years eve catching up on our comments (we've got just over 2,000 to work through) Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
My elderly In-Laws just moved in with us. I'd love the camera, which will help give the peace of mind having left their home of 33 years. Love the channel. Good luck with your adventure.
We hope you and your in-laws had a lovely christmas together! We have 5 months off from tomorrow, so we can focus on camp out west and filming full time before weddings start again! Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
Sad to see people aren't respecting your home, hopefully this new set up deters further intrusions 🤞🏻 Thanks for letting us follow your journey, we're loving it 🙂 We'd use the camera to watch the local foxes 🦊
I love that you keep asking Jon of he is happy. ❤ I am from the United States. While watching I am enjoying the differences in names of things and salutations. For example we call caravans trailers or mobile homes. Maggy is a joy. This is a happy stumble upon.
The mower was a beast shame it broke. I live in a very urban area in the city and often have problems with people fly tipping in my back garden. Usually this is in the middle of the night when they think no one will be watching. One of these Reolink systems would be perfect, I am in.
Hmmmm! Something strangely satisfying about watching you destroy the caravan!😂 THB I thought the brush cutter did really well considering it had been standing for so long and the stuff it was clearing! Hope you get it running again soon! Can’t wait for the next episode!👍😊❤️
I love that you are trying to salvage where you can. It's so often you see people just toss things rather than try and repair. I am currently trying to fix my own home. If I had a camera like that I think I would put it near my front door as we have a very busy street and I would want to watch for package thieves.
I love to have finally found a small house build in the UK 🇬🇧. I love how you guys are doing everything yourselves, even smashing the old caravans up. The real link camera looks amazing I would love to use it to watch the wildlife in the garden ❤
Thanks so much Martyn! Now that I think about it, most tiny house build or homesteds we've seen on youtube has been based in Portugal, I guess that's because the land prices are cheaper over there. Thanks so much more watching & entering 😊❤
I built a steel framed van in 1969. The steel was 3/4"sq. When you start on the chassis, do the under floor works, the floor, the frame to line up with cupboards, glue the lining (we used coronite back then) with building adhesive and joining strips then fasten the cupboards from the outside, gas and wiring and finally the skin then the windows & vents. Make sure the frame is made to line up with the cupboards. Seal everything to keep the bugs out. Perhaps a cover or workshop before you start?😁
Loving the channel and all the destruction! Can’t wait to see the new build house go up. I’d use my camera to watch my gigantic German shepherd whilst I’m at work. Make sure he isn’t slacking protecting the house from all the cats 😂
The one caravan you destroyed actually looked OK,same as the wood. The floor could easily be replaced, but it also depends on the chassis. The wood ,can be used as kindling. Salvage what you can, everything comes in useful at some point.
Re: Bearing. If you've got a digital caliper you can get the measurements of the bearing if you take it off carefully. If you have the inner and outer measurements you won't need to buy one especially for your machine, one that will fit will do. This will help get the price down - starting around £3 on ebay. You'll find them listed by size on ebay. If the machine is imperial rather than metric sized (inches not mm) you may find that you'll need to get the size in fractions of an inch, if you haven't done this before. Also, there are going to be a lot of videos on youtube on how to fit bearings - if you freeze them overnight, it will contract in size, being a fraction smaller helps get it fitted into the outer housing and you may find that it fits the shaft well too. You'll probably need to wetsand the shaft to clean it and make it easier to fit. I don't know if the top or the bottom would come off easier - it may be better to hit it with penetrating fluid (possibly heat as well) to be able to dismantle it to get the bearing size. Knocking the bearing back into place is normally done with a socket that is the same size as the outer (avoid denting or damaging it) and using a washer with the same inner diameter as the bearing with something like a socket for a spark plug if you don't have one the right size. When you've done that reassembling with strong threadlocker because it will vibrate, will aid a good repair. Checking the balance of the blade may also be worthwhile - you may be able to take it off and put it on a pivoting balance to check the weight is the same on both sides - if it isn't, it won't spin without wearing the bearing further - this is why blades are replaced when they look ok, seem to perform well but can wear other components out. If you need to take a little weight off, using an angle grinder to sharpen the blade may be all you need to do. As for the electrics.... I'd put the camera near my back gate so I can watch my neighbours cats having a scrap...
Thanks Stephen, when I've got some time I will take the hub and blade assembly off to see the damage and measure up for the bearings as long as the shaft looks ok. I spoke to a guy randomly in a supermarket carpark the other day that had a scag 48 inch cut mower on his trailer, he's gave me a place about 40 mins from us he gets bearings from to go and checkout and also mentioned that tip of freezing the bearings before trying to fit them, I've got a big old vice so might be able to use that and the socket/hammer combo to get the bearings in, if that fails the mechanic we use for our vehicles is only 5 mins down the road and he has a hydraulic press. I need to ideally get a bunch of new nuts and bolts for the machine and go round it all and threadlock everything as quite a few things came loose whilst using it, think I was a bit to keen to get to work. Thanks for taking the time to comment and share your knowledge, much appreciated, thanks Stephen 🤙
@@joncampoutwest A couple of points might be worth mentioning - nylock nuts will stay on just as well as threadlocked and are probably preferred but are more expensive. Also, the service you had carried out wasn't cheap at £100 and maybe if you asked the mechanic who did it if they should have checked if there was any noise from the bearings. if it included a new carb, he probably gave you a really good deal. if you ask him politely if he can remember, he may or may not be able to assist - he may have done a great job and might not want to think it's his responsibility. You could review the video you've got - if you repeatedly hit divots you may want to change your style of mowing and possibly use a rake to check the surface with two of you working together. It may not have been the mowing angle and what the blade was hitting - when the new bearing goes on make sure the seals are covering the bearings because grit getting in is likely to be the cause of the problem and hopefully you won't have this again for a long time. A blob of grease on the underside of the bearing to take any debris flying up may not be a bad idea. The challenge of getting through the trees might appeal but there could be a greater chance of debris flying up and damaging the bearing seal. If you do any maintenance on it, there are mostly garden tractor type mower videos from the states or small deck mowers - not the type of mower that you have so a general maintenance video may get you a lot of views and a few quid from it - having some video of it in full working order with all the wires connected where they should be
So sorry to hear about the lowlifes who decided to disrespect you and your enterprise. But maybe they were looking to steal the aluminium, which you can either re-use or re-cycle. I once built a complete greenhouse and sets of cold frames from re-claimed windows.
Just found your channel and have subscribed! Having moved from Scotland during 2016 following a life changing health event (heart attack) I rode my motorcycle overland to Venice, caught a ferry to Patras in Greece, then onwards to near Athens to live with a woman I'd met three years previously on Facebook, you could call me the male equivalent of Shirley Valentine ! Sadly it didn't work out and I rode back to the UK. In December 2016 I bought a Park home on the banks of the River Avon in the Cotswolds, it had been empty for some time, I spent a year ripping out the interior, new carpets, decoration, paint, curtains, furniture etc etc. Including cleaning the exterior by hand. Also installed a wrap around timber verandah to enjoy the amazing view, 20 yards from the river !! I'd use the camera to enhance my security without having to use electricity, a great idea!! Thanks and best wishes for your project 👌
Thanks so much for the support Richard! Great to ready your story! Jon and I did our CBT bike tests in the summer and have a small cafe race style 125cc bike (Herald!) Hope you've been keeping warm in your Park home! Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
Hello! My partner and I have lived in a tiny home for just over 4 years now! We live on 4 acres of cleared land but in total there is 64 acres! (Land passed down from my partners family for generations.) I just binged all of your videos, and they are so inspiring as we would like to eventually add on to our tiny home to I suppose make it a tad bit less tiny as we both need full desk set ups for work. We would use the security camera to monitor a small portion of our huge property and it would be a great trial to see how they work and maybe order more! Love your content and I will be watching every video drop now. I’m hooked!! Thanks for creating and whether I win or not I think it’s absolutely amazing that you requested one as a giveaway, so thoughtful! You don’t see that much on TH-cam anymore!
Our property consists of a hill where the entire back side of the property is unmonitored. We’d place cameras back there, pointing across that portion of the property to monitor potential trespassers and predators. We’re surrounded by corn field, but people hunt there in the fall, and we’d like to make sure that hunters mind the boundaries.
I'd love a camera for the back garden, we could use it to monitor back gate as we've had people come into garden before, we could monitor kids playing, and night vision would be great for keeping an eye out for the family of hedgehogs that visit us after dark
I would use the camera, first, in the house to keep an eye on my loving pup Harley. She is sick and it would allow me to keep an eye on her when I’m at work and she is home alone. Then I would use it outside of my house toward the driveway because there has been some vehicles broken into in my neighborhood. I love watching all the renovations you are doing.
We are from Oklahoma USA. We just bought an acre with a very decayed trailer house (mobile home). We are not tearing it down, we are rebuilding it. Slowly, over probably a year. We are living in our rv (caravan) while we fix it up.
What I would love to do with it. I would give it to my nan someone have been going taking her package from her front door and this would help her a lot x
Like you we live in the sticks. We are both pensioners and sometimes have boy and girl racers coming down the road at mach 5. They sometimes don't get around the bend and crash through our gates or walls. It would be nice to have a witness for these times. Keep up the great work and videos.
We have land the same in wales with 2 derelict cottages on and static caravans we live to far away and it’s hard to upkeep/repair with the odd weekend so unfortunately we’re gonna have to sell after owning since 2008, so glad I found your channel as it reminds me so much of our place, our happy place 😊
I would love a camera. I look after a coloney of feral cats on an industrial unit, next to my house. They have a shed with beds in and are fed twice a day. It would be great to be able to keep an eye on them. :)
Hire a grillo ride on mower for the day. Then use the rough cut to keep on top of it. You will be there all week with the roughcut. Alternatively, go speak to a local farmer and see if he can cut it for you. That would be a lot cheaper.
Renovating a Traditional Irish Cottage in West Meath, Ireland. The Reolink Solar system would be ideal as we are offgrid and will be staying that way. Reolink would be perfect for both Security & Wildlife watching!
Wow I can’t believe the metal frame just rots like that. I’m in the US and our mobile homes and campers metal chassis’s never go bad like that. Usually the camper rots away because most have wood framing and not aluminum.
Just found your channel and watched all the videos as love to see people renovating especially when care is taken with recycling. After this last video I thought I would like to add my reason for being in the draw for the security cameras. It would be for my mum who has recently retired and lives by herself. She has had her car damaged twice as lives on a busy narrow street where parking is an issue for the elderly residents and has also had youths jumping over the wall which is shared with a church where they damaged garden items. I know it would make her feel more secure and myself too. Good luck to everyone who enters as I can imagine many people will have lots of good reasons to want them. Thank you for sharing your renovation journey, excited for you, all the best. Jennie 👍👍
Oh I'd love one of these cameras for my dog when we're out, he gets very anxious on his own and being able to talk to him and calm him down would be amazing.
Thanks for entering. We hope your dogs anxiety eases. We are spending new years eve catching up on our comments (we've got just over 2,000 to work through haha!) Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
That caravan/ mobile home looked like it was in good enough shape to use as a camp or craft/workshop. I was surprised when you colored it all up. I would use security cameras outdoors on my shed to see who keeps coming on my property when I leave for work, especially because I'm alone.
Thanks so much Andrew! Oh what dog to you have? Thanks for watching and entering! Our contest ends at the end of the 30th of October and we will contact you directly and announce in the video if you have won ☺️ Emilie & Jon
sad to see a nice size caravan go to such waste due to abandonment. but glad to see that you guys are recycling where you can. love the channel andd cant wait to watch future episodes. hope you guys are safe and well. current area have been getting break-ins. people unlocking doors with some masterkey and unknown to the residents taking stuff like electronics and e4ven car keys from peoples homes. id love to catch the slimey individuals that are doing this. more so recently. cause people are working hard to keep up with energy bills which gets worse if they also have to replace stolen electronics and/or an expensive car.... keep up the amazing content camp out west. roll on the next one
Thanks so much Vr. We were hoping someone would buy the caravans or even have them for free, but no one was interested due to the condition of them. Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
You pair really put in the work…I stumbled onto your last( I think ) video where you have built your glamping tent and your cabin.lots of other things as well. So it’s really good to see your progression to the latest…Thankyou for sharing🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Accidentally caught one of your videos. Love what you and the misses are doing.Your cutter is working really good, but have you considered hiring a forestry mulcher? It's really amazing how fast one these machines can clear land. Stomps, trees and brush.
Oh my gosh, I need one of these cameras for sure. We own a caravan on a site and I'm worried to death when we are not there! I don't care about winning I need one of these 🤣👍👌 spot on guys
I'd love a camera to take wild camping. Like the idea of them having a tree strap and night vision. Spent many nights out in the woodland and seeing what makes some of the noises at night would be very interesting.
Whoever sold you that touring caravan to stay in should be ashamed of themselves. The damp is the worst I have ever seen.. Where do you guys get the energy and motivation from. Totally mind blowing. Hugo and Rosie from Scotland.
I’m new to your channel and am enjoying all you are doing. I watch a lot of homesteader You Tubers in the US, Canada, Portugal, Ireland, and Wales. Can’t wait to see what you do next.
My mum's just been diagnosed with Dementia but still want's to live at home for as long as possible, this would be a tremendous way to keep an eye on her and help keep her safe.
I have been watching all of yals video's & have really enjoyed them also can't hardly wait to see yals new tiny home .May the good Lord bless u both & ur doggie .I love all animals .
Id love this pointing over my driveway! Its an old ex-council house with not enough power points so this is amazing with the solar! :D Enjoying the content, keep it up
It was a nice surprise to see this giveaway pop up. We love to follow you on your adventures! Please keep sharing these great video's! We could really use the Reolink security camera as our neighborhood has been declining these last couple of years and this would make us feel a lot safer.
Oh I would put the Reolink on our telephone pole as well, I would love to be able to have a view of our driveway and dirt road, especially since we live so far out in the country now! Love this channel, thank you for sharing :)
I live alone in a big house with a big garden, our family house where we grew up. In the garden is an old quince tree and every year I pick them and put them on the road side for people to buy them for a very moderate price. Last year somebody took the money out of the jar so I put strong tape around the top and the next day the whole jar was gone with the money of that day... I have just been picking the fruit today and it would be great if I could monitor the fruit buying from my phone, a lot of people really enjoy the quince as it is a rare fruit here, and picking them is physical a heavy job so getting this money stolen taken all the joy out of this .....
wow, it sounds magical where you grew up and live! I hope no one else has been stealing your fruit, so sorry to hear that! Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
I should also mention I bought a small travel trailer last year. I am want to go back home, PA, to be near my grandchildren. Im looking at a couple acres that have a well and septic and an old mobile home on it. I was thinking I can line in the my little camper while I try to do something with the chassis of the mobile home. I don't need a large space so I was thinking of having screened in porches on both ends of the chassis. I could use the camera there being this property is away from any population. It's on a road named Swamp Road! 🥴
It would give me great peace of mind to have a camera on my property to monitor the horses I look after, and protect all the equipment and tack! Some of it is irreplaceable medieval saddles etc!
Thanks so much! Hope you and your hedgehogs have had a lovely Christmas! We have 5 months off from tomorrow, so we can focus on camp out west and filming full time before weddings start again! Thanks for entering and sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
Thanks Michelle, this caravan needs to be removed as this where we are building our tiny house in its place (so we can have access to our sewers underneath) thankfully we have our shipping container for our tools etc which is nice and dry 🙂
Oh! I wonder if it's a mole? Our neighbour has been having the same problem, he's convinced it's a mole! Thanks for watching and entering Martin! Our contest ends at the end of the 30th of October and we will contact you directly and announce in the video if you have won ☺️ Emilie
You both are doing a great job clearing the land and left over caravans from your property. Sad that people feel free to trespass. Reolink has good reviews. We live in a 1960s ranch home in a township that has spotty police presence. We are in process of trying to save money for cameras after our car was stolen from our driveway. I think this would work well to cover the driveway and front of our house to help prevent it from happening again. Keep the great videos coming. :)
wow your ranch home sounds amazing! Sorry to hear about your car - we hope you had a lovely/safe christmas! We have 5 months off from tomorrow, so we can focus on camp out west and filming full time before weddings start again! Thanks for entering and sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
I would love a relink to keep an eye on my micro camper and to show my grandkids that there is wildlife in an urban setting as I regularly see foxes go by and a deer once. They would love that 😍
Martyn, we hope you had a lovely Christmas and your bike and dog are safe and sound while you were away :) We are spending new years eve catching up on our comments (we've got just over 2,000 to work through haha!) Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
Absolutely loving the videos guys, they are giving me so much inspiration 😁 if I won the giveaway, I would use the camera for security at my recently purchased field where my horses will live once their barn is built, probably mounted on the barn in order to view my gateway. I hope to live there in the coming year as well, so the more security I can get, the better! 🥰
Great video, ive been eagerly awaiting the next instalment. I would love to win the Riolink camera. We would install it on the wall of our garage to keep an eye on the back of our property which houses our beloved touring caravan. It would give us the added peace of mind that our caravan is just that little more secure and would deter potential thieves. Cant wait for the next instalment and look forward to the delivery of the chassis. 😊❤
You should be able to get a bearing for the cutter from a store that sells them all you need is the shaft and hole circumference to find the size bearing needed.
Love watching how your land is coming along Would love to win the security camera. We built our own camper van which is parked on our drive but it’s always a worry thinking someone might steal , It’s all the hours of dedicating in building something just to see it gone in a flash that is more heartbreaking Good luck in your new adventure will look forward to watching more of your build.
Would love a Reolink camera with solar panel to watch over our chickens so we’d have a better understanding of where predators are trying to get into their enclosure. Love your video series; look forward to more episodes.
I'd love the reolink camera. Would be a great addition to my new property I have just bought, especially since I will be renovating it and some extra eyes will always help.
You make it seem doable. I have wanted to get a security camera just wasn’t sure which to try. I would use it to watch my long driveway and all the deer and turkeys that come through.
I would use mine to cover my entrance as well to my home/ garden which has gates but unfortunately I live on a lane which doesn’t have any lighting down to me. It’s complete darkness. And its a distance from my house so I like the fact the camera is solar powered would be ideal. Many thanks Claire xx - keep up the good work absolutely loving the vlogs xx
hi guys its a shame you dont now someone with a tractor and see if they have a strimmer on the back that would make a big diffance you must have farmers around where you are its worth asking around cannot wait to see your dream home being built keep up the good work wish you all the best
Great show guys. I have a double garage well away from the house. I’d put my camera right at the apex of the roof so I could see who comes and goes It would be a great addition to the house
I'm really enjoying watching ur videos. If I were to have one of those cameras I would mount it towards my back fence. There r a bunch of ferral cats around our house and one of my dogs got a kitten last week. It was so sad so I have been trying everything to deter them from coming in the yard. Can't wait to watch more of ur videos. Rhonda
Your vision is really starting to take shape. Shame about the mower! Me and my partner have possessed some un registered land this summer and are still clearing it whilst securing the boundary's. The camera would be perfect with a solar panel to keep and eye whilst were not there.
I would use it to keep an eye on the side of our house. We've had tresspassers there, and since its beside our special needs son's bedroom more security would be a good thing! Thanks for doing this, great channel.

This one actually looked salvageable. People in the States are buying up old mobile homes and 'caravans' (we call them campers) and re-doing them. I'm amazed at how much room this caravan had.
They have a lot of space because they are designed not be moved regularly, those caravans are much smaller!
What's a mixed aged couple? What does it mean?
Dang it....another Lucy won! Congratulations other Lucy x
Sad to see people aren't respecting your home, hopefully this new set up deters further intrusions 🤞🏻
Thanks for letting us follow your journey, we're loving it 🙂
We'd use the camera to watch the local foxes 🦊
I love that you keep asking Jon of he is happy. ❤
I am from the United States.
Hmmmm! Something strangely satisfying about watching you destroy the caravan!😂
THB I thought the brush cutter did really well considering it had been standing for so long and the stuff it was clearing!
Hope you get it running again soon!
Can’t wait for the next episode!👍😊❤️
We were so gutted when it stopped working 😅 but excited to get it back up and running again! I think Jon enjoys smashing up the caravan too haha!
I agree, so many I watch are ppl living in Portugal, Spain or France, nice to see the UK for once.
Thanks so much Martyn! Now that I think about it, most tiny house build or homesteds we've seen on youtube has been based in Portugal, I guess that's because the land prices are cheaper over there. Thanks so much more watching & entering 😊❤
@@imeldadiaz4164 Thanks so much Imelda ❤
If you do any maintenance on it, there are mostly garden tractor type mower videos from the states or small deck mowers - not the type of mower that you have so a general maintenance video may get you a lot of views and a few quid from it - having some video of it in full working order with all the wires connected where they should be
I came here looking to see this comment, you sir are a good egg, please never change!
(Land passed down from my partners family for generations.)
I just binged all of your videos, and they are so inspiring as we would like to eventually add on to our tiny home to I suppose make it a tad bit less tiny as we both need full desk set ups for work.
I would use it in my motorhome. Being a solo, 70 year old traveller, security is paramount to me.
Thanks for entering! Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
I would use the camera to watch over my pride & joy campervan on the driveway. It looks super easy to setup and use.
Like you we live in the sticks. We are both pensioners and sometimes have boy and girl racers coming down the road at mach 5. They sometimes don't get around the bend and crash through our gates or walls. It would be nice to have a witness for these times. Keep up the great work and videos.
I would use it at my stables to keep a eye on the horses at night time to see what they get up to
I would use the camera to keep an eye on the car as we had our last one stolen, loving the vlogs! Very entertaining.
Them windows would make a great green house.
Hire a grillo ride on mower for the day. Then use the rough cut to keep on top of it. You will be there all week with the roughcut. Alternatively, go speak to a local farmer and see if he can cut it for you. That would be a lot cheaper.
No big deal you can order the part online or the place you went to will order it and fix it.
Renovating a Traditional Irish Cottage in West Meath, Ireland.
The Reolink Solar system would be ideal as we are offgrid and will be staying that way.
Reolink would be perfect for both Security & Wildlife watching!
Would absolutely love one of these cameras, to watch my off grid caravan. Would help give piece of mind for me and my dog
Good job on clearing the brush ,I would use the camera in the back garden to watch my dog
Thanks so much Andrew! Oh what dog to you have? Thanks for watching and entering! Our contest ends at the end of the 30th of October and we will contact you directly and announce in the video if you have won ☺️ Emilie & Jon
@@CampOutWest we have a 1year old spaniel
Incredible effort to get that demolished, fair play both. That's epic.
Thanks so much 😊😊
We would use the camera to keep an eye on Gladys our 22 year old camper 👍🏻🏴👍🏻
We love watching your progress keep up the great work 👍🏻🏴👍🏻
sad to see a nice size caravan go to such waste due to abandonment. but glad to see that you guys are recycling where you can. love the channel andd cant wait to watch future episodes. hope you guys are safe and well.
current area have been getting break-ins. people unlocking doors with some masterkey and unknown to the residents taking stuff like electronics and e4ven car keys from peoples homes. id love to catch the slimey individuals that are doing this. more so recently. cause people are working hard to keep up with energy bills which gets worse if they also have to replace stolen electronics and/or an expensive car....
keep up the amazing content camp out west. roll on the next one
Thanks so much Vr. We were hoping someone would buy the caravans or even have them for free, but no one was interested due to the condition of them. Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
@@CampOutWest happy new year to you both. Ill be keeping an eye on the next uploads
Bearings are always numbered on the case, for easy replacement.
Oh my gosh, I need one of these cameras for sure. We own a caravan on a site and I'm worried to death when we are not there! I don't care about winning I need one of these 🤣👍👌 spot on guys
I’d use in the garden overlooking a new workshop.
Definitely the front drive for the Reolink for me!
I'd use the camera in the garden to keep an eye on what the foxes and hedgehogs get up to!
I'd love a camera to take wild camping. Like the idea of them having a tree strap and night vision. Spent many nights out in the woodland and seeing what makes some of the noises at night would be very interesting.
Sounds amazing! Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
Great video! If i had a security camera, I’d use it on our family’s barn to make sure all our equipment is safe
Whoever sold you that touring caravan to stay in should be ashamed of themselves. The damp is the worst I have ever seen.. Where do you guys get the energy and motivation from. Totally mind blowing.
Hugo and Rosie from Scotland.
We were so gutted when we realised, but happy we were able to bring it back to life
I’m new to your channel and am enjoying all you are doing.
I would have used the best caravan for temporary storage....just for now 😊
I have been watching all of yals video's & have really enjoyed them also can't hardly wait to see yals new tiny home .May the good Lord bless u both & ur doggie .I love all animals .
Id love this pointing over my driveway! Its an old ex-council house with not enough power points so this is amazing with the solar! :D
Enjoying the content, keep it up
That bearing if you can find the number on it you should be able to source one on the net
This camera would be great in front of our warehouse, have had it broken into several times now. great video!
Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
Definitely would have the camera for back garden to keep an eye on the hedgehog 🦔 😊good work guys keep up hard work 👍👍

Can't help but feel, renting a ride on mower would have done the whole lot in a few hours. Keep up the hard work 💪
Jon can't WAIT until he becomes the owner of a ride on mower haha I can see it now, with Maggie sat on the back 😊
I'd use the Reolink in my workshop shed at the top of my garden. Thanks
That caravan would have made a nice work shop for a while while you are working on the land. Or possibly storage space for tools
Thanks Michelle, this caravan needs to be removed as this where we are building our tiny house in its place (so we can have access to our sewers underneath) thankfully we have our shipping container for our tools etc which is nice and dry 🙂
I would position it so I could look at my back garden and investigate what is digging up my lawn at night???
Might be a case for Mulder and Scully
Oh! I wonder if it's a mole? Our neighbour has been having the same problem, he's convinced it's a mole! Thanks for watching and entering Martin! Our contest ends at the end of the 30th of October and we will contact you directly and announce in the video if you have won ☺️ Emilie
Love that I found your channel! I would use a security camera for the front of our property!
Mabe when you build your home you can make a loft for more usable space on the ground floor.
I would love a relink to keep an eye on my micro camper and to show my grandkids that there is wildlife in an urban setting as I regularly see foxes go by and a deer once. They would love that 😍
Sounds magical sue!! Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
I would like to install in my mancave . As I’m working at sea I miss my bike collection and my dog !!! This camera would be so cool !!!!!
No problem look forward to next video ?? Keep up good work
I’d love to have one of these installed on our narrow boat! It would be great to help secure our boat when we are out on the canals.
Thanks Keith, there a bearing supplier near Swansea I'm going to go and se about some replacements so I can get back to clearing.
You are doing an awesome job! Thank you for taking us along on your journey.
I would use the security system to help protect my family.
Many thanks Claire xx
- keep up the good work absolutely loving the vlogs xx
Great too see your enthusiasm and hard work. I would put a Reolink camera to watch my workshop.
Keep up the great work and good luck.
Love security camera as I’m sheltering still and when hubby working feel vulnerable . Knowing what’s happening outside will real help
Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year to you and your husband! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
hi guys its a shame you dont now someone with a tractor and see if they have a strimmer on the back that would make a big diffance you must have farmers around where you are its worth asking around cannot wait to see your dream home being built keep up the good work wish you all the best
Would love to put a camera in the barn to try to catch a film of the barn owl living in there.
Great show guys.
I have a double garage well away from the house. I’d put my camera right at the apex of the roof so I could see who comes and goes
It would be a great addition to the house
Just watched all of your videos john has lost about a stone from episode 1 till now well done mate all that work double bonus 👍
Thanks Jim! Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
