Hope management isnt forgetting Hughes was targeted in the playoffs and was poorly protected until Zadorov was put on his line. That doesn’t show up on the stats sheet.
Friedman running his mouth of to get people talking about Friedman running his mouth off is what Friedman gets paid for. I'll believe it when Zadorov signs for another team, and I'll pass it off as Friedman running his mouth off to get people talking about Friedman running his mouth off if Zadorov resigns with the Canucks. He's not even available for other teams to start talking deals with him until after June 30 has come and gone, and there's a lot of time for The Canucks and Big Z to come to a deal between now and then. Same goes for Lindholm, Joshua, Hronek (seems unlikely as greed may have blinded him) and so on.

Big mistake not keeping Zadorov. For the most recent playoffs, their lack of scoring cost them the series. If they make the playoffs again they’ll be crushed, beat up, and run out of the playoffs.
It depends who they can get in the offseason. Love Z but if they can use the extra cap space to get other big guys for cheaper (Dillon, hakanpaa) than I think that’s better. Zadorov isn’t a proven top 4 guy so he has a chance to just be another overpay
Playoff performance is much, much more telling and beneficial then regular season performance. Zadorov is the type of player who shows hus worth in the playoffs. Valuable. Tbh canucks should have traded petterson to carolina. This team is destined for mediocrity.

If the retention is half of his salary, and the team has to give up other assets to move him, I almost feel the team may as well bite the bullet and keep Mikeyhev as a third line and penalty killer for two more years. The guy can’t score but he is also not a defensive liability. Let him play third line or 4th and score ten goals (if even that). I am surprised if Zadorov is close that the team would not just close the gap. I get you don’twant to overload the LHD position, but I remember when Soucy was signed they said he could also play RD. Zadorov’s size and mean streak in the playoffs are needed, esp if the team will almost certainly lose Joshua…
My thoughts? Don’t know who has a more useless role in the NHL Being on PP Unit #2 in Edmonton since McJesus and Co are on ice the full 2:00 Or being an amateur scout in Vancouver with management trading away early round picks to move out overpaid assets…
well said I cannot stand the over pay EVERY TIME they Allvine and Rutherford set a target and they go get him no matter the cost to the future. This is deja vu Jim benning

Athletes do not get paid too much. look at how good you have to be just to make it to the nhl. lots of hardwork. One could say more hard work then getting an education. How much they get paid is directly correlated to how much money they bring in as a whole. lets say they pay every player in the nhl $500,000. Well who makes all the other money? the owners. So someone gets paid regardless. its a business. same thing with actors. they get paid worth how much money they bring in. If we want to lessen how much they get paid then we literally have to collectively stop going to the games and stop tuning into the hockey games. Then pay will come down and there would be way less incentive to become a hockey player. Or you wouldnt have talents like mcdavid or a bedard. its not like i personally can say, oh these players get paid to much, maybe i should become a hockey player too...good luck lol. sorry not a shot at you. im sure you just said it casually. ACL is a long way from the hands. We wasted a season with below average return.. Should have left him in the minors till his knee is better... Petey deserved a better linemate than him. No creativity, or anticipation... We lose Zadorov we will be back to the mushy middle.. A poor mans Chara.. His toughness saved us so many games. Him and Cole are the only two players who could fight if they had to. And it looks like both will walk.. You win with defense. Bring Meyers back without those two and the Chaos Giraffe returns full force. And Joshua leaving. There is not enough cap space to get us close to the playoffs. We were still one two players from making the finals and losing so many top players we won't be able to compete. To many glaring holes to fill.
That’s fine, let’s move on and sign Joshua!
