Yeah, that's what I get for shooting from the hip. My brain said 'id which is now a part of Bethesda' and since I wasn't scripting I just said 'Bethesda'. Thanks for calling this out - proper credit to the development team is important, and I messed that up.
Awesome list of games, Jay! I actually HATED Sunset Overdrive when I first played it. I made it about an hour in and put it down. Something called me back to it like a year later, though, and it completely clicked. Such a fantastic game. I actually beat it, which is rare for me, haha! But just a great time once it clicked with me. Love the list, man!
Perfect timing, looking to get an Xbox one (I’m mostly Sony, I have PS1-PS4, and PSP&Vita). Have the OG Xbox, and a 360, so this is a fantastic list to get my collection started! Thank you!
I got a Series X last year and I love collecting for the Xbox gens. Tony hawk was one of the first games I picked up it's amazing!! Great vids, keep up the great work 🍻
Just found this channel/video - just re-bought a One -S. I mainly bought it because I couldn't afford a Series X and I wanted a disc drive - and it was cheap. Playing Witcher 3, Hogwarts Legacy, Mortal Kombat - and much more on it.
*EDIT* Thanks to @plb3sy, turns out I DIDN'T screw up! It is on Xbox One - I just got bamboozled by Microsoft and their perplexing packaging choices. *END EDIT* I fucked up - GotG was a Series X game, not an Xbox one title. You should still play it, though. :D
@@pl3bsy Shoot, you're right. I completely second guessed myself after looking at the case. Since it only says Xbox on it, I convinced myself it was for Series X.
Some of my recommendations to pick up now. Nier Replicant Scarlet Nexus Zombie Army Trilogy (3) & 4 Sniper elite 3 & 4 Killer Instinct definitive edition Darksiders 1 & 2 Judgement Lost Judgement Dark souls 1-3 (all complete on disc) Prey Observer Okami HD Onimusha The sinking city
I was lucky enough to find an xbox one last year for about 25-30 bucks at a thrift store! Its been fun finding inexpensive games for the console. Jedi Fallen Order was so much fun! I played it with my son, taking turns before ultimately just watching him play it as he is a much better gamer than me, lol! Any games I can experience with my family is a win in my book!
We should definitely be collecting more for the Xbox One and Xbox series X but we've been so disappointed with the backwards compatibility that I thought we were going to get..... I don't know. We seem jaded on the Xbox since the series x release and maybe will be the stupid ones that miss out on some great games while they're still affordable. We should definitely take this advice
I hold a decent collection of about 135 games for xbox one. One thing that always prevents me from getting many games on xbox is whether they are full on disc vs requiring a sizeable download. Not interested in games that are not complete on disc
I completely understand where you're coming from, truly. I also think you're doing yourself a disservice by not engaging with great games that have a download. It's just a fact of life in todays modern society. We don't blink an eye when our Smart TVs have updates or our phones or watches or computers, but for some reason with video games we draw the line. And yeah, you could point to it and say 'but a game is entertainment' - but so are books, comics, and movies. We get VHS and Laser Disc and DVD and Bluray and 4K rereleases with new cuts or new bonus features, we get Hardback and Paperback and Annotated novels, we get single issue comics and trade paperbacks and absolute editions - it's all the same thing, just with different gravies on top.
Many of the games are complete on disc granted they may have downloadable updates. From what I have seen so far, there are some cross gen games where the series X version requires download but the xb1 version is complete on disc. Overall, xb1 is pretty collectible right now. I have probably around 1000+ xb1/series x physical games
Yeah, I'm having fun collecting for the Xbox One/Series X and PS4 right now due to the availability of so many games at great prices. The Tomb Raider games immediately came to mind when I saw the title but you also had some bangers on your list. You could probably do a few of these for both the Xbox and the PlayStation currently if you wanted to. Take care! 🟧
Some games got a price hike like TMNT for the one now it costs used 50 bucks but yeah it is not wrong to collect for the one especially for delisted games which are still playable! :) Also one question: Would u consider to buy the games physical or digital? Because both can be handle good and especially if everything goes more digital (Sony and Nintendo included), it is not wrong especially if u don't have much space! But if u get a game physical cheaper get it :)
Absolutely love ReCore. I've got the Definitive Edition which unfortunately has seen it's price skyrocket over the last year. I bought it in 2020 for - I think - $10, and it currently books at over $60.
I already did 10 months ago and have tons deals on them of course I same game I have on switch and PS4 cheaper I e fighter and platforms /mascot and collection ,rare replay's
You just persuaded me to sell my Crash trilogy collection! I haven't played it yet and didn't know it was so janky and controller breaking frustrating. That gameplay looks pretty terrible! I bought the xbox one just for rare replay it's so good. Physical games on xbox one are cheap and most are going down in price. Personally I think xbox one physical game prices will just keep on falling over the next 5 years at least. The achievement system is online only and unreliable which is a massive negative for the platform. But xbox is great value for money. In the UK Fallen order is just £3 or 5 USD for example. The other main downside of the xbox one is the range of genres/experiences available as physical games. It is really poor compared to the PS4 or switch. If you only play the big sports & AAA mass produced games then the xbox is a great choice.
I would like to point out that I am goddamn atrocious at Crash, so don't put down the gameplay to the software - that's 100% on me. 😂 And from my recollection, it plays pretty similarly to the original releases, which could be goddamn trainwrecks of frustration. It's just prettier.
Tbh. Why collect for any new console when 90% of the games will be unplayable when the servers go down? I'll keep to my retros psone. Xbox 360 and ps2-3
The Xbox 1 and the ps4 and any consul beyond are not worth collecting games for. Most of the information on those games are missing. So don’t full yourself. The 7th gen and below are on the consoles worth collecting games for. If that’s what you’re into. The Nintendo switch gets a pass though.
I respect your opinion, but I personally find it to be misguided. Every industry sees updates and downloads in todays society. Shit, my fucking car had an update after we bought it. And why does the Switch get a pass? I'm a Nintendo apologist and they're as guilty if not MORE guilty and Sony and Microsoft of not having all the data present when you buy a game.
Yeah ...NO. The reason Xbox 1 games are so cheap is because almost BO ONE WANTS it. Great for collecting in the long run possibly most don't seem to like the games
I see by your channel that you're a bit of an Xbox detractor, so I'm assuming this is where this comment stems from. Which is fine! Hate or love what you want - I personally don't give a fuck either way. If that's what you want to dedicate mental capacity to, go for it - but console wars are imaginary, and frankly a foolhardy waste of time for anyone that plays video games. But to your comment...yes, it is great for collecting right now because games are at an all-time low price, like I said. You're 10+ years post launch where - historically for every console generation - games crater the most in value because it's not old enough to have nostalgia attached to it, and not new enough to still have people clamoring to buy it. The generation that grew up with that console doesn't have the disposable income yet to start buying back their childhood. It's basic economics when it comes to entertainment and collectibles and is seen in video games, toys, comic books, movies, books - until said time that the generation that the thing debuted with becomes adults with a steady income, values remain low. Same can be said of the PS4 - in fact, if you actually look at game values, you'll see there's basically a $1-$2 delta between consoles for multiplatform games in both directions.
@@SquarePegs Well said Jay. I don't understand the negativity of some people. They could of just said "I'm not really a fan of Xbox, but thanks for the list." but instead had to interject with "BO (sp) ONE WANTS it" and "most don't seem to like the games". Most likely they got to that conclusion from their extensive research of their own opinions.

Sounds insane but that happened to me with Witcher 3, played it again 1 year later and now it's my favorite game of all-time lol

I absolutely LOVE my series X, the Xbox one library is one of the best values out there. 👍🏻
Sunset Overdrive is really fun. It's like an extreme sports game fell in love with Left 4 Dead and had a baby.

Honorable mention: Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse (if you can find it).

The only downside of owning Rare Replay physically is the fact that they didn't include GoldenEye - you only get it if you buy RR digitally. 😕
