@@feenrob Susan Jacks was a talented Canadian singer, primarily known for being the lead vocalist of the psychedelic rock band The Poppy Family. Her sweet and distinctive voice, coupled with the band's ability to create catchy melodies and evocative lyrics, propelled them to international fame in the late 1960´s and early 1970´s. Her voice and The Poppy Family's music continue to be remembered and appreciated by us whom love classic rock and pop music. Greetings from Venezuela.
Just look into the comment section only to realize that she had since passed on. I remember this music on the radio years ago as a toddler 😊❤❤❤❤. My belated condolences to family and close relatives and associates. ❤❤
Brings me back to growing up and life was just so great,no cell phones,no social media everyone just being themselves and real artist who really sang with their own voices no background sound straight acoustic, she will be remembered for her true talents, thank you Susan jacks
Had a crush on her at 13 when this came out. This performance is superb. Love the way the backup singer smiles and does that hand thing ... very endearing. Great band. I love watching the emotion on Susan's face. So sad that she has passed. RIP angel voice.
I agree, I was a senior in high school it was a sad year knowing most of the people you grew up with all through school years from K-1 through 12 th you wouldn't see them again. I am 70 yrs old and I still think of all my class mates. living was so easy then. p
Remember when you was young and the best time of your life and fell for your love and the memory of music was so beautiful and soft to remain in your life
So glad drummer Shawn uploaded this video. There’s at least one other Susan performance on this TH-cam channel. It’s a way to keep ensure her legacy survives. Sadly, Susan succumbed to kidney failure on April 25/2022. To my ears, she was one of Canada’s greatest pop music singers.
Just coming to this song after years forgotten....Susan sang so sweetly on this song. A big shout out to the drummer on this video who played all the fills just right. Excellent...
I always remembered this song on the radio station WLS 89.0 AM in Chicago at the age of 10 years old. This song it timeless and always seems to capture the best memories of my childhood as it was always on the radio stations.
The band is VERY tight and did an excellent job backing her up. Yes, she delivered the performance, no question about that but the band is probably the tightest and best sounding band I've heard backing up these artists so "great job" to whoever they are, especially the drummer for delivering an outstanding performance. Well done.
most of the people at her age, (at the time of the video ) 65, is lying in a couch watching soaps on tv and feeding their dogs, I grew up listening to this song. is outstanding what she does. I admire her..
I just about wore out the 45 record of this song. But as much as I adored this song, I loved "That's Where I Went Wrong" even more. She had such a beautiful voice.
I happened on this great song tonight purely by accident and it brought back memories I will cherish forever it was like a warm blanket wrapped around me from this era and stayed there. thank you Susan for giving me this
I feel so sad to watch this. I remember it so well. Susan is still on top of her game, and a lovely singer. But the world seems to have left-behind such beautiful heart-felt music. Is there any way back.....?
I know the poppy family never new her as susan jacks and i never got in to the poppy family she is great never new she married terry jacks i bought seasons in the sun when i was a kid im now 61 RIP susan great talent july 2022
This song brings back memories when I was a little girl, walking to school by myself. I can still hear the women hand-washing in the back yards as a passed by. It's a beautiful song.
Shawn, I can imagine what a great honor it would be for you to share the stage with Susan. You are an excellent drummer, thank you for uploading this video since I can't get a Poppy Family concert online. I hope it exists to acquire it. Greetings from Venezuela.
Great voice, great music., so glad we have these videos. Terry was a great producer and Susan a very talented and wonderful singer., gives me goose bumps. There are no songs of hers that are not great., and looking like she did in 1974. Ageless.

I absolutely love this song, Susan certainly had the voice of an angel. May she rest in peace, within the arms of angels.
This song reminds me of the early 1970s and how much nicer and simpler life was. Like a spring day green grass and a little breeze.
ssan3257 Allways a sunny day, no fear of terrorism or school shootings etc...
Released in 1969 >>> yeah music was kind and strong ~~not hateful filth of today of that some sing if you can call it that i don't

The back up singer is actually a recording artist in her own right
The back up singer is Mary Saxton, who also had a record deal in the 80s, i think.
What a voice. Susan will always be in a league of her own.

Love the words to this song. I could listen to it over and over..... But hope to never hear this sung by anyone else.
She sounds as good, if not better than when she first recorded this awesome song.
