However, the Jogger did score 70% for the structural protection it offers adult occupants, which is equivalent to a four-star rating. So, does this put you off the Jogger or not? Let us know below!
I would get 1 if I was there. But in India you get real petrol powered cars new for the price of a Citroen Ami. I guess that's the name of that tiny electric Citroen
I.m reading the coments and can.t belive the good reviews on this. You can.t imagine the amount of hard work we put into what we do in our plant. I've been working for Dacia since 2004, and I must say, it.s the fist time I get to see what other people think about our work. Thank you all 🙏
More brands should do what Renault did and is doing with Dacia. Smart and sensible no frills cars for people that are very sensible to how much a new car costs today. Skoda was a brand like that in the '90s and '00s but then "evolved" into the ultimate upper middle class family brand. Fiat could do it but they're more interested into the profitable 500 brand and with the exception of the Panda, have abandoned the "sensible price" segment.
Fiat still makes quite a bit of budget cars for markets outside the EU, and they tried to make the Tipo, but because of new environmental norms it became more expensive and couldn't really compete with other cars. Plus no-one knew or wanted it
he means the new tipo i think, we own a 1.4 petrol one in turkey and it's just a basic car like they used to be, unfortunately still tough to get under 7L/100km so not really suitable for a family car with European petrol prices
@@23Shadowfox23 yeah i understand the point of view. But here in Italy there are lots of pandas, tipos... Like 30/40% of the cars are fiat. And that's the main difference with other european big brands. Fiat just make cars for italians (aside the brasilian market ones), so their market is restricted... which is kinda sad if you think all the historic brands they own
People love the Dacia brand because for its price you expect it to do nothing and it does everything you need it to. The fact that it's not fancy, not techy, not pretentious makes it cool. It's just like that simple black filter coffe. It's a throwback to simple times.
Dacias under promise and over deliver! My father in law had a few and they just feel like rugged simple cars, couldn't put it better, they are a throwback.

@@nelutu6506 honestly, those things are not what I consider safety in a car, and I would not even pay a single penny for any of them. Having a good, strong chassis, passive collision resistance, good safety belts, decent handling in emergency maneuvers, , good brakes, a good ABS on the breaks, fire resistance, ability to get out in emergency, safety windows - those are stuff I would pay for. Other electronic gimmicks - I could not care less.
THeir strap-line is 'Everyhting you need, nothing you don't' - says it all - just like the Citroen Berlingo when it was first released @ £7k. Now it does everything but costs £40k+ Citroen missed the point of what people need so don't mind paying for. Plus the Berlingo is now only electric with a usable range of 150 miles - which totally fails its design brief.
Dacia showing how cheap the premium manufacturers are by putting HVAC controls in the correct spot: away from the touchscreen and on a set of physical controls.
They always say that they do that to reduce costs...while bumping the price up more and more. But hey, look shiny screens all over the place. They are so complicated and multiplied, that it gives you a headache just to look towards them, let alone use easily.

I recently got a used duster for 9k. After years of expensive car ownership, cayman, multiple M4’s, X5 40i, I don’t think I’ll ever go back. Sounds silly but I love the cheapness of the duster. It has everything I need, cameras, Bluetooth etc and I’ve grown to love it. Granted it goes backwards in 3rd gear but driving along listening to fleetwood Mac I don’t care, I’m never in a rush.
My parents have a 2013 Duster. Great efficiency, decent ride, great reliability so far, no gimmick features and low maintenance costs. It's the one car that started the SUV craze in India. I just love it. Sad to see Renault killing its sales over here.
Yes, it's funny but when you stop thinking "how much can I afford to spend on a car?" and start asking "how many do I need to spend on a car?" the savings rapidly mount up and you realise how fractional the improvement on more expensive cars actually are
@@ijustfelldown We too had the duster 85hp for the 2014 model year. Excellent car, great suspension, decent power and decent space. Dad has since replaced it for the seltos in 2020, so while the seltos is all comfy with great pickup and top speed, it feels more like an i20 on steroids than an SUV like the duster
They definitely should make more cars like this. Personally im not bothered about lots of electronic gadgets, just a good engine and a nice looking, reliable car.
@@dozegamin8604 That's the point though, you can't compare it with other cars, because other cars are much more expensive. Dacia is in a league of its own really, and that's what makes its strength, and the reason why they actually have good sale numbers.
Lemme whisper in yo ear, but I know you can get a sandero with factory lpg conversion. The bottle goes in the spare wheel place and it has 40 liters lpg plus the 50 liters petrol. All that for £500 extra. Abd they throw in an extra 10 hp when you're on gas.

"doesn’t have lane-keep assistance or seatbelt reminders for the third row of seats, and the auto-braking system detects other vehicles but not pedestrians" I think there's something seriously wrong with the NCAP rating system if not having those features marks the Jogger down so much. In fact after reading the NCAP report there is more to it than that, but not enough to explain such a dramatically low mark. It feels like NCAP is so focussed on opportunities for manufacturer bragging rights and the safety industry's own project fear "let's churn and sell more" mindset, there's no appreciation left for cost / benefit and affordability, never mind sustainability, in the real world money situtations most people have to live with. If you're so well off you can swap out your Skoda/VW/Merc/Rover etc every year to match these ever tougher and more complex standards, NCAP might be great for you. For everyone else we get higher running costs and insurance as our cheaper used motors are seen to be a bigger risk. Summary - yeah, I'd buy this on spec based on the Car Wow review. Not considering the Jogger because it misses some safety features while being very affordable and still remaing pretty safe (compared to a bog standard mainstream 10yo car) shows a very 1st world and entitled mindset.

I work at the Dacia factory, I don't want to advertise, I'm not paid for such a thing, but I gladly recommend the new Dacia range, as we say in Romania, cheap and good. Good review Matt, keep up the good work.
Another winner from Dacia the company that never knowingly over prices it’s cars. The best value on the road thank you Renault for being in touch with the real world.
The load cover(from the boot) is stored in the boot at the lip by removing the cover at the lower left corner of the boot. You slide one end of the rolled cover in that hole and then you lower it nicely on the other end. It lines up with the boot lip, it eats up a bit from the boot bottom area.
Absurdly cheap for the space and versatility. I used to have 2008 VW Caddy we paid £10k for back in 2013. The fact you can pay only 7k more for a new car 10 years down the line for a better specced vehicle (albeit a tad smaller) is astonishing. Go Dacia!
I test drove (and ordered) the 100hp bi-fuel version (petrol+LPG) and it actually felt really quick around town. Felt quicker than my old Golf IV TDI 115hp, and so much more refined and comfortable. When I went for the test drive, I wasn't expecting it would be so good, especially for the price.
Cant compare 90s diesel engineering to this 2020 tech.. I drove a clio 3 1.4 98 hp.. it felt like a lil pocket rocket. Used alot of fuel, but it had good performance. These are good cheap cars to do your job with..
I've been waiting years for an equivalent to my old Vauxhall Zafira to arrive, and here it is. It's so good that you'll be lucky to be able to buy one - my local dealer just laughed and said they were booked out until the end of 2023.
They should have called it the Dacia Dogging. I would have bought it then just for the brand snobbery down Riverhead Tesco car park on a Friday night. It's not called Riverhead for nowt. Next to a river ....
Dacia is underrated, you get it when you are troubled in finance, first time owning, super value for money. I hope it will come to my market, interesting brand
I'm so glad they still have the controls for media UNDER the steering wheel. You start to really appreciate it if you keep using it for a couple of weeks. Because yeah - you don't have to look at the buttons while you drive, provided they are tactile. I'm surprised no one else does media controls like that.
If we are being honest, we dont need more than this in our lives when it comes to having a vehicle that takes you from A to B. This car is made for people that cant afford expensive vehicles and it delivers pretty good. Impressed by it, especially at that price range.
Even if you can afford something more expensive why waste the money? This works. Got the wireless phone connectivity and it's not offensive any other way. Plus the parts are cheap. Heaps of room and not expensive to run maintenance and parts wise.
Totally agree with you, we need a vehicle that can carry our hobby equipment, transport our disabled MiL, commute to work, do the shopping run etc at a reasonable price. Having a financial windfall soon means we can buy a brand new car at this price with all the benefits this brings MOT, warranty etc... When on a reasonable but not extensive budget these things count.
For the euro crash notation. It's important to say that the new review system includes electronic passive security as standards. So in a older notation it could be a secure car if you don't rely on electronics
I drive a Dacia Logan MCV Diesel first generation Lauréate version. 264000 km. There were some problems (injection broke, gearbox broke) but in the end one of the best cars I ever had. Room without end....
I have one of those stalks behing the steering wheel, and I just love it. It's so easy to use, it's tactile so you know what you press without looking, it stays in place when you turn the wheel... It's just amazing, I wish all cars had it
Aftera couple of Renault with those radio butons behind the stear, btw I love them, for 5 years with Audi and Passat every time when I drive them I regret the Renault/Dacia voljme controls buttons
@@automation7295 I've got a Nissan van at work with those controls. You get used to it really fast and you don't accidentally press buttons when parallel parking.
I know Renault have been sticking with this design for nearly 20 years, but I'm not convinced it is better than steering wheel controls. The Renault style is ok once you are used to it I guess, but I don't see it as being superior. The way Renault insist on spreading the buttons for cruise control randomly around the cabin and on both sides of the steering wheel doesn't make sense IMO, other brands get by fine with cruise control on one half of the steering wheel and audio controls on the other half. :)
Kudos to Dacia, they specialise in making cheap, reliable, no-nonsense cars. For non car enthusiastic people, that are the majority of the population. In Spain I see them everywhere.
@Susio Dox Incheon You do realise that this is a sub brand of Renault, aquired specifically to manufacture and sell cheap affordable cars. It is sold with great success even in the richest countries in EU. Also in South America. It will sell like crazy in North America, also. But they probably had enough profit not to bother with usa, not because they would not sell, but because it's a place where u can be sued if u fart on the street. And they spared himselves of this pain in the ass. Kia is there and sells alot of cheap cars. China is a premium market? Please let me sit down before i laugh. You probably have no idea what cars chinese drive, outside of their few rich cities.
@Susio Dox Incheon It won't go in North America sense Renault doesn't sell their either. Renault make pretty small engines and small cars that wouldn't fit the American population... One of the main reasosn that I know is because generally speaking, the American cars are built to long highway drives and they are quite more reliable than European cars. Also most European cars lack the rich equipment American cars get as standard. 1.0L engines simply won't fit in North America because of how uncomfortable they are in longer drives and they aren't considered reliable by American standards. Dacia sounds like a company that would sell to 3rd world countries but actually its selling quite good in all of Europe. They are sensible cars which mostly fit to the big cities, with great fuel economy and not many senseless quirks that simply would cost more to install. Its basically a block on 4 wheels that takes you from point A to point B the cheapest way possible, it won't fit NA market but doesn't have to.
@@dan_6915 I agree except for "it will sell like crazy in North America", that's not so sure. The culture is quite different, North American economy car buyers prefer Japanese and Korean cars. I'm not sure North American economy car buyers are completely comfortable with Renault products (obviously Renault's tie-up with AMC went really badly). Asian cars dominate the economy car sector in North America. Where Clio and Golf may be the best selling compact cars in Europe, Civic and Corolla are the best selling compact cars in North America. The Asian brands are really the only ones left in the economy car segment in North America, with the American brands having withdrawn from selling cars, and most European brands not selling economy cars in NA (only VW, with FIAT having withdrawn, and obviously no Renault, Dacia, Skoda, Seat etc). It doesn't necessarily make sense but it is just how it is: conversely, European buyers don't seem completely comfortable with Toyota or Honda products and prefer their domestic brands, Toyota are only 5th place by volume in Europe compared to first place nearly everywhere else. Part of this is the EU diesel push from the late 90's that protected the domestic auto industry in Europe, whereas Toyota obviously focussed on petrol hybrids instead which was the preferred emissions reduction policy of California.

No excess, nothing fancy, just a comfortable, easy to drive car. It's like buying a T Shirt from Asda and wearing it proudly every day. You don't care about brand names, just wanted a well made, comfortable T Shirt and a good price.
This is the first car ever on which i have seen a properly designed middle back seat for Humans, all others from bmw to KIA have done as if the designers were on coke.
Ive been driving cars over 45 years none of which have had all these electronic gizmos to keep me in lane or brake the car in case of collision ,i can manage this all by myself. If however i bought a new care with these features i would treat it as a bonus or extra feature and don't see why a car without these features should be down graded after all anybody can have a crash in a car and whats important is how the car stands up to the impact and protects the occupants.
Today I picked up my new dacia sandero stepway based entirely off you tube videos..I've only driven 67 miles so far but feel it's way better than all the reviews I've seen even though they were positive...
I rented the previous version a couple of months ago to carry seven people around Tenerife (all the taxis in Tenerife are Joggers). I was really impressed with it. Everybody had enough space and when we put the rear seats down there was space in the boot for five people's luggage. The 1.6 petrol engine was fairly sluggish and there was more vibration from the engine and the road compared with my Renault Captur but you have to make some sacrifices for the price (almost the same as renting a Polo)
My family owns an old logan from 2008. besides a blown bulb, a broken spring, and a valve for the propane installation there were little issues. it is easy to repair, and the slightly larger room in the wheel arces, are ideal for bad roads. much cheaper than most cars and by far less issues. my poor former neighbour and his luxury beemer, he kept poring money into it. well the dacia offers no luxury but an aircon, but not needing new parts every year is a luxury to ;-)

It's a brilliant car, I've just bought one! There's a 6-9 month wait at present so I won't get mine til estimated some time in November. I usually spend around £30k on cars but what £30k gets you nowadays for a family car is just not worth it. The absence of those electronic safely aids wouldn't put me off. The Dacia brand is really offering AMAZING value across the range. Well done Dacia. It will be very interesting to get a review of the 1.6 hybrid. I suppose the 1.00 in this review was the biggest negative, but if you really want a cheap school run, local drive then absolutely fine. Unbelievable price. Brilliant . A
Matt, if you want to better understand Dacia's overall reasons for the great ground clearance just take a drive through rural Romania. :)) That being said, there are places I have taken a Dacia Logan that regular SUVs were afraid to go.
Nothing against Romania (having ancestors from my father's side from Romania), but sometimes roads there definitely look cheap and broken at parts lol. Hence why Dacia as a Romanian company knows exactly what they are doing with their cars. Rugged vehicles with plastics instead of coloured panels that easily get scratched every bump. In the future im thinking of getting a used 4x4 Duster when prices drop even more.
The radio controls on the right rear of the steering wheel are perfect, much better than those on the steering wheel itself.I have a long experience with both of them.
agree, my dad has a Dacia Sandero stepway with controls on the right behind the steering wheel and it's way better than on my Opel Astra J where the controls are on the steering wheel itself
My Renault has them as well. I think Renault created them to reduce producing costs. Basically, its much cheaper to put all the buttons on a different stock than extra buttons on the steering wheel where they need to fit even more wires into to it than before. Also potentially more reliable the way it is like that. Haven't really had any problems with these buttons and once you get used to them you realize its even better than the standard steering wheel buttons other manufacturers do.

Maybe the reason Jogger does not have a more potent powertrain is canibalising Renault's lineup. With a 1.5dci under the bonnet and 1000k premium for that, it might be a best seller and great all-rounder.

This is so refreshing, a simple, well executed car. What a concept. Without knowing it, we as customers have been fooled into the modern car and really to a larger extent, all customer goods orgy of features and technology. The amount of our time/labor spent by us to pay the banks for the loans on all of this is staggering. The other thing very seldom mentioned in reviews is the reliability and costs of fixing all these wonders of technology, again it's amazing to me that so many unreliable cars are purchased by people. The reliability question for this Dacia is the only real question now. It's funny, but I was really pulling for this little car while watching the review. Before I am labeled a snowflake, I own a Yaris GR........with the track pack to boot.
More cars need to be built like this. Purposeful and simple, but just modern in all the important ways to be relevant. Did I mention value? If I lived in Europe a Dacia would be my go-to second car that I never need to worry about. Need a run-around? Sandero. Need an offroader? Duster. Need a family car? Jogger. Never has a manufacturer had their share of the market so down-pat.
I live in Israel and I am seeing more and more Dacias on the road over here. I was at first skeptical of Romanian manufactured car, but after seeing this video it's starting to make sense. I may have to try one!
This year, Dacia is celebrating the production of its 10 millionth vehicle since the brand was born. Ford reached a production of one million cars at the plant in Romania. Tell as, why hasn't Israel developed its automobile industry?
I am sitting in the one now. To start with, the 17K EUR price is for basic version where you get nothing , but four wheels. The price for decently equipped car is not less than 20K EUR. Minuses so far: pedals are very close to each other, space between gear shift pedal and the panels below is very small, I am wearing winter boots now and my left foot can hardly fit between plastic panels below and the gear pedal. I am 183cm tall, and in order to feel comfortable behind the wheel I need to move front seat backwards so far that there is almost no space left between front and back seat, if I make minimum space for me behind the wheel the person of my size can fit behind me only having front seat between his knees/spread legs, so your legs will be stuck in that position without chance to move, and the foldable table in this case will open in-between your knees. Back seat is fixed and cannot be moved backwards to make extra space. I mean if you are a small skinny woman then it might be ok, but not for a man. So, the idea to have this car for long nice trips with family is not the best. At least somebody will suffer, driver or the person behind him.
My 2017 Logan Stepway has just turned 60k on the clock but it still feels brand new. Can’t recommend Dacia highly enough, they give you what you need not what you want.

The new generation of Dacia looks very well and in fact is... was a must for Dacia to level up their cars. I have the new Duster 1.33 tce 150 hp and is really a nice car, have a lot of things which I will never use them in my entire life 🤔😂. My wife enjoy it how Duster looks and moves, is perfect fit for a family use. Also the new Sandero Stepway looks very good 😍😍😍. Very good statement about Jogger, it shows the level up from Dacia - at least. Cheers
07:49 The Jogger was given a one-star Euro NCAP score for its lack of electronic safety aids. It doesn’t have lane-keep assistance or seatbelt reminders for the third row of seats, and the auto-braking system detects other vehicles but not pedestrians.
However, the Jogger did score 70% for the structural protection it offers adult occupants, which is equivalent to a four-star rating.

Plus no-one knew or wanted it
@@23Shadowfox23 Tipo was also pretty horrible reliability. You want a cheap car to be at least reliable.
he means the new tipo i think, we own a 1.4 petrol one in turkey and it's just a basic car like they used to be, unfortunately still tough to get under 7L/100km so not really suitable for a family car with European petrol prices
Even the panda was not that cheap and I think it's been discontinued anyway now. The 4x4 one was £19k to much for a panda in my opinion.
@@23Shadowfox23 yeah i understand the point of view. But here in Italy there are lots of pandas, tipos... Like 30/40% of the cars are fiat. And that's the main difference with other european big brands. Fiat just make cars for italians (aside the brasilian market ones), so their market is restricted... which is kinda sad if you think all the historic brands they own
Dacia is my brand of choice for now simple for the price/value ratio. It is just unbeatable. I bought Duster at 2020 and i love it.

Now it does everything but costs £40k+
Citroen missed the point of what people need so don't mind paying for. Plus the Berlingo is now only electric with a usable range of 150 miles - which totally fails its design brief.
Does exactly what it says on the tin.
Dacia showing how cheap the premium manufacturers are by putting HVAC controls in the correct spot: away from the touchscreen and on a set of physical controls.

They are so complicated and multiplied, that it gives you a headache just to look towards them, let alone use easily.

My parents have a 2013 Duster. Great efficiency, decent ride, great reliability so far, no gimmick features and low maintenance costs. It's the one car that started the SUV craze in India. I just love it.

You do realise that this is a sub brand of Renault, aquired specifically to manufacture and sell cheap affordable cars.

Cheap, practical, no non-sense car !
Absolutely huge cargo space in 2 seater mode, it's a van without the whole being boxy and gas guzzling part of it
I rented the previous version a couple of months ago to carry seven people around Tenerife (all the taxis in Tenerife are Joggers).
Loving that ur doing more normal car reviews recently
My family owns an old logan from 2008. besides a blown bulb, a broken spring, and a valve for the propane installation there were little issues. it is easy to repair, and the slightly larger room in the wheel arces, are ideal for bad roads.
much cheaper than most cars and by far less issues.
my poor former neighbour and his luxury beemer, he kept poring money into it.
well the dacia offers no luxury but an aircon, but not needing new parts every year is a luxury to ;-)
Nice review. Someone who finally reviewed the actual inside of a seven seater and sat in the back. Well done. Ta.
2:58 Now we finally learned what Matt does inside the car when cameras are off
I have a soft side for Dacia's. They're pretty good-looking, durable, and most importantly, practical.
Good looking is relative, considering previous models. The Jogger looks really good though.
@@KapZlock I don't see considerable difference between this model & the previous ones. Ever since Sandero (or whichever the first one) came out, after Communism - the deisgn has been looking good. Remember it's not a high-end, luxury car.
Thank Matt I have ordered one at the Weekend top of the range, can't wait for mine to arrive
My god, a pair of these would be absolutely perfect as company cars for my father. One to haul people, the other with the seats out to fit their equipment
I have seen one yesterday, and they're really big cars, nice to know they're so efficient
It's a brilliant car, I've just bought one! There's a 6-9 month wait at present so I won't get mine til estimated some time in November. I usually spend around £30k on cars but what £30k gets you nowadays for a family car is just not worth it. My car is nearly half the price and I returned 45mpg on my 12 mile test drive which I'm more than happy with. If you're skeptical about a budget brand like I was, I urge you to go check one out at the dealership, you'd be pleasantly surprised!
did you get a good deal?
Have a Dacia Lodgy since 2014, my best car from 7 cars since 1978.
I've got three high performance cars but I've always admired the DACIA brand - cheap, no thrills, reliable and good value for money.
Perhaps I'll buy one and stick an AMG badge on it (stop false badging)!
You can tell for all the videos of dacia you've made, that you love them. And they are loveable, simplistic, afordable and unbrakeable.
Be safer if it was 'unbrEAkable' surely!
@@davidomara893 they are unbreakable, very reliable and cheap to repair
The absence of those electronic safely aids wouldn't put me off. The Dacia brand is really offering AMAZING value across the range. Well done Dacia. It will be very interesting to get a review of the 1.6 hybrid. I suppose the 1.00 in this review was the biggest negative, but if you really want a cheap school run, local drive then absolutely fine. Unbelievable price. Brilliant . A
Matt, if you want to better understand Dacia's overall reasons for the great ground clearance just take a drive through rural Romania. :))
That being said, there are places I have taken a Dacia Logan that regular SUVs were afraid to go.
Corect!
@@royliber3824 Man, I'm romanian and I can say: the roads here look cheap and broken because they are.
@@severbogdan4699 Hence why the Dacia are so rugged where they need to be. Love it
Rural Romania? The roads are shit in the middle of the big cities. Major national roads are shit. Highways are shit. All of our roads are shit...
Hey matt, wheel that isn't litteted with crapton of buttons is a huge plus!
It reminds me a bit of the Skoda Yeti, which was a cool little all-rounder too. For the price, its crazy good value
My father has a yeti, had the 1.8 TSI engine upgraded to 200 hp. Very impressive car that is :)
@@lyubotopa what? Was Skoda Yeti any good?
@@purwantiallan5089 it's very comfortable, and pretty good off road (not a land cruiser off course). It also has clever rear seats that can slide, tilt, fold individually, or be taken completely out.
If you like SUVs, it's definitely worth checking out.
@@lyubotopa My friend has a 4x4 150hp diesel Yeti, and it is a really cool, swifty, versatile car with boxy, practical boot. I was really surprised and I really wanted to buy one, however here, they often came very poorly equipped, which threw me off.
Oh yeah, I still have it, petrol version with many engine problems. I've been looking for a replacement, and that Jogger is exactly what I've been looking for!
I confess that you literally convinced me to buy one of these , Actually impressed 👌👌

We just got ours. Did we need 7 seats? Nope. We needed 5 seats and a massive space in the back, we have three Saint Bernard's, who needed height and stretch room. So the 6&7 seats came out, dog guard between boot and the back seat and I fashioned a waterproof memory foam panel to cover the undulations in the floor. Perfect. Perfect A to B family car for anyone with two adults, two kids and giant breed dogs to lug about!
I wish This car was available in the United States I would totally buy one! Imagine the reaction that people would get when I tell them that I drive A manual transmission Turbo charged station wagon

Only Extreme SE models get tray tables
Shame really, because people who have kids would love that.
Nice car, cleverly designed and well thought out by Dacia for not a lot of money, in fact it shames it's competitors on Price and quality. Perfect for most families and businesses. Having owned the previous model Stepway I would have no qualms about buying this brand again, looking forward to the 'Bigster'!!
Better than expected :D ! Greetings from Romania and also thank you so much for expplaining the Euro NCAP safety rating... it is deceiving to say the least :)
Here in Bulgaria every Taxi is a Dacia - they doo 400,000km and the gearbox brakes and they throw them away - thats 250,000 miles - thats pretty good for a dirt cheap car.
They buy a new car instead of changing the gearbox? Idk, depends on the *model* too - I don't think it's feasible or sensible, or "dirt cheap" to do such a thing with newer models.
@@dyawr - Yeah cos they know it signals the beginning of the end - they are Dacia Sandero or Logan. Maybe the newer models will be different - but they are not yet getting old - maybe they will do 800k km ?
@@piccalillipit9211 Look mate, u obviously have no idea what ur talking about, sry. 😄 Idk if you're jealous of Romania cause it has a car-brand or smth, but these sound like cheap-shots to me. Dacia is known for its sturdiness & affordable repair - so no taxi driver is gonna throw away a car, when a replaceable part breaks down. *Especially in Bulgaria,* lol.
Logan & (first generation) Sandero came out many years ago, when I was still in school. Since *then* several other models were resealed, that are *not* mainly seen as taxis - like 2-3 generations of Duster, or Dokker, Lodgy, newer Sandero (& Logan) models, Spring & now this Jogger. And I think you'd more likely see Logan & *Solenza* as taxis there. (which came out right before Logan)
@@dyawr - dude what a pathetic POS you are. Grow the f-uk up. My best friend is a taxi driver, my next-door neighbour is a taxi driver our car park is 30% taxies - I KNOW what Bulgarian taxi drivers do.

I genuinely wish we could get one of these in the States, I'd buy one!
Come to Romania, buy one, and have it sent to your address. Boom, problem solved. Probably loads cheaper, too.
@@MrAlpinab7 this thing runs and runs and runs forever
1.0 turbo would be unbearable in the states with wider faster roads compared to cramped European roads.
I think one day the will come to the States
@@mohammedsalimahmed5230 Wider doesn't mean you have faster highways :)) what is the top speed in most US states? 110 km/h (130 km/h in EU and on some highways in Germany NO SPEED RESTRICTION yolo :) )... this engine is enough. If you would've driven at different speeds on each lane on your highways (like in EU) and not on all lanes at the same speed, the engine would be more than enough to stay safely on the first lane and at your maximum speed allowed... 110 km/h. Problem with driving in US is that you don't have the same highway education like in the EU, hence the need for a bigger engine to pass old ladies in 2,5 tonnes cars and more overall safety because of higher car density on your highways. If you plan to drive it more "locally" the car does what it should do and even more, for the money... With a cc you would pay it in like 12 months top without sweating :)) You won't see this car being sold in US because of under the table deals...
Maybe the reason Jogger does not have a more potent powertrain is canibalising Renault's lineup. With a 1.5dci under the bonnet and 1000k premium for that, it might be a best seller and great all-rounder.
with that engine and rear disk brakes it would be the answer to most young families' motoring needs.
They discontinued that engine for the UK years ago even commercial vans have not had one in a couple of years 1.5 or 1.6 dci are the options .
@@callumcurtis15 thanks, I was thinking at 1.5dci also 😁
Renault group has discontinued diesels in all new models (in Europe).
I'm afraid to buy a car with 1l engine.
A hava a 2016 Dacia Logan 1.5 dci and it's a beast 200k no problems at all. Cheap parts and very reliable . Not the most luxurious car but do what I need and when it goes to the garage it's cheap and 70+ mpg .
Just like James May, I love Dacia! Despite me being from the U.S.A.
I love how you do 0-60 timing for every car! (And 60-0)

The Bigster is the one to watch for… looks absolutely stunning. This one is very impressive for the price though.
The Bigster is pretty much a concept and will not look like that when it goes into production.
@@Dranzell they say it will be 90% looking like the concept one, so we actually are looking forward for BIGSTER !
Different cars for different purposes. Your GR is a tiny little beast, this is a gentle giant.
I really like the pace of your reviews, loads of information in a short time, including spoken links. Wow!
Nice very good looking estate vehicle good for family vacations nice interior love the USB imports and seat removal for extra space
