if it has leverage, its not a snaffle. its a curb or gag

I think the more bits you have the more confused you get but yes right fit very important

I find the presentation confusing. at the 30 second mark of the vid the horse is actually collected as defined by level neck, verticle from ear to bit and there is only about 3inch space between the front and hind hoof (meaing the horse is reaching under its self with the hind end. Then as soon as pressure is put on the bit the space to to 18" meaning the horse is reaching less under itself with the hind end. The horse also is stiffer and is over flexed.

@@lukethedrifter4622 Collection is actually the degree of flexion in the free joints of the hock (shifting their weight to the hind end) which is achieved through years of strengthening work. Collection is not shortening the stride. Definitely misusing the term.

snaffle absolutely does work for collection. The horse gives in to your bits because it is extremely painful when pressure is applied

Snaffle bits DO NOT have shanks, and do NOT involve leverage. Please don't confuse people. A broken mouthpiece does not, in any way, denote a snaffle!

First of all, why is there a curb strap on these snaffle bits? Makes no sense. Secondly, the bit is in the bridle backwards at 4:55. Third-Leverage bits are not snaffles. the word you are looking for is jointed. Such as the jointed GAG bit. And WHY are you promoting harsh bits?

Colleen, a curb strap is used to prevent the snaffle bit from sliding through the horse's mouth when pulled on with a direct rein. Any bit has the potential of being harsh in HARSH HANDS.
