  • Million dollar NRHA rider Casey Deary and Professional Barrel Horse Trainer Dena Kirkpatrick discuss how a bit's mouthpiece effects a horse's innate instinct to go to or push against pressure. They discuss why Jim's mouthpieces have become irreplaceable tools in their programs, and the philosophy behind them. Here they focus on NON-PALATE pressure & correction style JEBits.

After seeing this video I wish that I could go back in time and do over some of the horses I know that would have benifited from this information. Great video, thank you both so much!

Dena I would love to see you explain some barrel racing bits that you use. I love Racer's Edge videos.

I do not agree with this at all. You cannot tell me a ported bit is less severe than a regular snaffle, especially when you've got a CURB CHAIN with METAL BEADS attached to the shanks. And if your horse is a finished horse, why would you NEED to put a freaking port in their mouth in the first place? That just does not make sense.
