My condolences to you🙏 Her Paternal Grandfather (Swedish) passed away March 2018, and her Maternal grandfather (Japanese) passed in 2019. She wrote this when she was 14. It's a great departure from the crap that is out there today that all sounds the same and disappears a month later. As you said it is real music with real storytelling and it is a gift. Angelina wrote and first recorded the song at age 14. It was the first song she recorded under Republic Records contract. It's a tribute to her maternal grandfather who had passed about a year before. In this video, I believe she is still 14 here, maybe 15. You should react to her doing it live this past summer during her concert in Norway at age 16! It's phenomenal! I am so very sorry for your loss of your loved ones. Angelina dedicates this song to everyone who goes through the grief and pain of loss.

My condolences to you🙏 Her Paternal Grandfather (Swedish) passed away March 2018, and her Maternal grandfather (Japanese) passed in 2019. She wrote this when she was 14. In this video that’s her sister Juliette playing the part. She is 5 1/2 years younger than Angelina. Angelina has had numerous close adult professional friends which have passed away, impacting her psyche.🌺

Angelina was 14 when she did this. It is dedicated to the loss of her grandfather whom she was very close to. She also dedicated it to any of us who have lost a loved one. It's a great departure from the crap that is out there today that all sounds the same and disappears a month later. As you said it is real music with real storytelling and it is a gift. It is melancholy but it is really a song of hope! I can't tell you how many angels, reactors, and new viewers have witnessed this song for the first time and broken out in tears. The emotion that it brings out in those that have lost loved ones cannot be measured. You are not alone and can take comfort.

The only line of the song that I think you need to know a bit of background to understand is "I'll never regret what I do...." - I am fairly sure this is a reference to something her Grandfather said to her when she was a younger girl... what I read is that her Grandfather would take her on walks around Oslo helping homeless people and he said to her "If you are true to yourself, you will never regret what you do... "
