This is why I wish Aegon wasn't taken off the board in the earlier parts of the war. Don't get me wrong, the message he sent was strong by just being there bleeding with his men. Despite this, Cole and Sunfyre would have done so much damage if they worked together. It's akin to Daeron and Tessarion but Cole's tactics would have made much more impact. Cole and Aemond working together would work well on paper but the moment Aegon was out of commission and Aemond seized power, he shafted Cole's plans. Aemond floundered trying to play the real power of Westeros and made the Riverlanders hate him in his campaign.
Imagine your a regular foot solider for a few years then become kingsgaurd and eventually lord commader of the kingsgaurd. You sleep with the princess heir to the throne and the widow queen. You then become hand of the king leading armies to battle and sacking castles. What a story the kingmaker has
Its pretty insane. This is kind of why I wish the show had more episodes per season because I never really thought deeper into his journey than what was shown.
@@TheRealHerbaSchmurbaI wish for a 25 episode season but I guess shareholders don’t wanna invest 500 million in one season. Hopefully in the future big production series become longer instead of shorter.
So if i'm not mistaken he's technically always been nobility. I think house Coal are "Landed Knights" which to be fair is the lowest form of nobility in this world.
I really liked the scene where Aegon showed up, ruined the whole plan and Cole still adapted and used it to his advantage, rallying the army. Gotta hand it to him, he's a brilliant tactician and leader
Brilliant tactician leader? Aegon ruinning the plan hahaahaha. It was stupidity not having him in the plan, it was stupidity to have attacked him and let him cripple, it was stupidity to not have attacked Melys 2v1, it was full of stupidity to have tried to kill his dragon. In general Cole didnt have much in this, just the big idiot of Aemond.
For those wondering. Their Armour is clearly inspired by Italian Renaissance Armatura Eroica by Master Armourers like Filippo Negroli, see Lion Armor or the Armor of Henry the Vth of France for clearer reference. He was awkward at court, downright clumsy at times... but this is his where he shines: War.
He should've been the Protector of the realm not Hand of the King.
@@ucnguyenanh9414 really? My dog would be a better protector of the realm. He has no sense of morality, a wicked and crooked man.
In the books he’s popular at court
Idk about all of that with the court stuff lol. He was saying some good 💩
Clumsy at court? Idk about all of that now ..💯
My favorite thing about Criston Cole is that he’s just some guy, surrounded by dragon people and somehow does more damage than any of them
From zero to hero, most inspiring characters💚

All the internet hating on him beyond madness and even the fact that the actor got bullied online made me appreciate this underdog character

The coat of arms of Criston Cole. Loras Tyrell did not know his emblem and that is why Jaime began to talk about it.
And he was talking about those who get remembered in the white book. “The best and the worst. And a few who were a bit of both. Like him.”

Best character. True underdog of the shoe
"It is not for you to plead for support from your lords, like a beggar pleading for alms. You are the lawful king of Westeros, and those who deny it are traitors. It is past time they learned the price of treason” Criston Cole
He gets deserving hate as a human being but have to admit, he really excels as a general.
He's overhated & misunderstood still by most blackcels. Literally a better person than the grooming p*do r*pist daemon that most people like 💯💯
Besides almost sending his troops in the complete opposite direction 💀
He's a dog, not a knight. No dogs deserve hate - and you can't say he didn't have a good owner (Alicent).
Criston Cole is a character who had both light and dark inside, and that makes him so interesting. And Fabien does a fantastic job portraying him.
lets go, more of this Cole less alicent/rhaenyra butthurt
He's so much better away from Alicent and Rhaenyra. I wish they'd just free him and let him do his thing and shine in his campaign.
As a member of team black i can tell he is a worthy opponent
Got to give the man the respect he deserves
“Is there no honor in this world anymore, Cole?”
Man, even the way he dies, betrayal. One of the best that GRRM created.
The kingmaker❤

He sacked them for his KING.
The one who fights with his army on dragonback against stronger dragons.
Vaemond Velaryon asks the same.
The queen did not even come to save him,
The KING came to save Cole despite being ignored by him
The dornish wolf
probably my favorite theme from this season. only too short, unfortunately 😢
My other favorite is " the strange victory". That one is great too.
"The worst... the worst were those who played the game of thrones." Ser Barristan Selmy talking about the Kingsguard in A Dance with Dragons
