That synth/horn melody is by far the most powerful emotive line in contemporary music I've heard in a long time. Song of the year hands down (personally anyway).
first album was called jaevla jazzist grate spitz (i have no clue what it means because I'm english...and 15). it was in 1996. its really interesting to hear their roots...they were basically my age when they made it.....incredible really. the whole album is kinda them messing about almost like a circus or something...Then in 1998, they released Magazine, an EP, which is when they really started developing their fantastic, complex sound. after that, a living room hush which is like a jazz Apex twin album, then The six, which is much more electronic. In 2005, they released what we must (my favourite) and then one armed bandit, which is supposedly their masterpiece, produce by john centre (from tortoise!). Which brings us up to date with Starfire (not including live album with Britten sinfonia). They are working on a new album now....im really excited
"jaevla jazzist grate spitz (i have no clue what it means because I'm english...and 15)" It was Jaevla Jazzist Grete Stitz, and it was a pun. "Grete Stitz" sounds like "Greatest Hits". The idea of their first album being their Greatest Hits was purely a joke.
it really is the music of truly epic proportions, one of my fav compostitions from them, and the live version is even more meat-y. fantastic. superb. a masterpiece

I enjoy this live version better than the original recording
Wonder how many effect pedals they have! Amazing piece, love their innovation on their new album! Saw them live with britten sinfonia in 2012, hands down the best concert I've ever been too. It's going to be remember just as Queens concert at Wembely in 86 or U2s at Red Rocks in 83.. Piece of history.
that section beginning at 8:30, holy shit. jaga are the one. the ultimate band....so happy to see so many awed comments!! this band has been my favorite for around a decade now and it's a thrill seeing so many jump on board. flying lotus tried to tell the world like 5 years ago!

this universe does not justice to this music - absolute masterpiece
That melody and Line's voice. So divine.
Steve Reich would be proud :)
This synthesizers profusion makes me wanna weep with emotion!
Probably the best thing that happened in music world in last 10 years

Такие Вы молодцы ребята.Успехов Вам в вашем творчестве.
His trombone slide action/tone is so smooth it doesn't really sound like a trombone in the upper register.
I love this crazy band a lot. They deserve worldwide success.
This is amazing, everything, composition, melody, sound, everything is as should be.
Another great performance... really look forward to seeing the band in France!
My god. All other bands cease immediately. There's no point trying anymore. They finally did it. Let's go home people.

This was fantastic to hear live this past Tuesday.
Jaja Jazzist kicked the night off followed by Todd Terje and the Olsens, headlining was Tycho.

Seems Ninja Tune wants people to use adblock on their youtube videos since you otherwise get ads in the middle of songs :(
