- Crazy timing, trying to rebuild my Tamiya Sand Scorcher. Instlaling the cool looking but terrible fitting ebay baja bug cage and painting.

Oh how many times poorly made and miss fitting parts took build in a totally different direction to what was originally planned! Interested to see how it turns out in the end buddy! 😁👌
Drop the other body in some brake fluid and it’ll take the paint right off to the plastic with no damage ..
♥️🇬🇧🇺🇸❤️👍👍
Oven cleaner works great, too. Let it set overnight in a sealed plastic bag, then hit it with 000 steel wool. Turns out well without losing detail.
Sweet 😊
Lightly rub the painted budy with the scotchbrite and then a layer of matte finish to make ot look like someone did a bad job painting it, that's my contribution. If you added a door that was a dofferent color that would be cool too.
Castrol Super Clean will strip it clean, especially if its enamels. I like using Dupli-Color for everything
Have you checked the kamtec bodies from the UK? If don't know them I say you're missing out and some really cool bodies for your rat rods and tamiyas and soooo cheap
Ive seen some, actually have an entire kamtec banger chassis and old jag body a viewer sent me.
It would be fun to see a mashup and made in USA Jag custom lo-lo rod then! 🤣
As an extra question and because I nerd about those things... Would you send a kit to Europe?
So far I’ve shipped to Germany, England, Scotland and Norway and Italy. Ranges between $60-$90usd. Germany was the most expensive. I only ship international priority with tracking and insurance 6-10 business days (which is accurate about half the time)
when i get back in the lab.... this will be my next build..... in 15 years of building never did a Tamiya
Hi

They still kind of work, I removed the torsion bar on the rear and put internal springs in them on its past life. Fronts still work very well in stock form.
The fit of that cage looks terrible, though I wonder if the body would sit a little better with the nerf bars mounted under the chassis. I know I have seen a cage on this chassis, but maybe it was a 3D print and not a metal one.
it wont, the body is already sitting on the cage and still not touching the rails
