Not at all, the F-15 pilots will be cool and confident because the F-15 has already shot down over 100 Russian jets for no air-to-air losses in return, while the Russian pilots will be panicking because all that the entire Flanker family has ever shot down is... a couple of Migs #LOL
@@yusufn7467 On Feb. 25, 1999, in a pair of engagements, Ethiopian Su-27s would shoot down two MiG-29s. The next day, Eritrean MiG-29s shot down a pair of Ethiopian MiG-21s. Ethiopia would claim that a “Capt. Asther Tolossa” would shoot down a MiG-29, but the existence of Capt. Tolossa is disputed. In March, Ethiopian Flankers claimed two more Eritrean Fulcrums. The last encounters in that war between Fulcrum and Flanker would take place in May 2000. On May 16, Ethiopia claimed that one of their Flankers shot down an Eritrean Fulcrum. Two days later, another Eritrean Fulcrum was shot out of the sky by a Flanker. The war ended in June 2000 with Ethiopia re-claiming the seized territory, and holding on to it despite an international court ruling favoring Eritrea.
U have to account for thrust vectoring in close combat, 35 has a distinct advantage or the 22 would not have added thrust vectoring. It is a key component of 5g jets. Think SH-AWD VS front/rear wheel drive but in 3D.
I have always loved the F-15 Eagle. However, one must give credit where credit is due. Russian fighters, such as the Su-35, are phenomenal in their agility, and their ability to get to the fight quickly. Russian fighters are also very tough. With use of thrust vectoring and the immense power their engines produce, they are definitely formidable machines of war. I guess it really comes down to pilot skill and capabilities of the aircraft.
I would have to agree. I would not like to be the US (or Israeli) F-15E pilot who has to go up against an SU-35 flow by a Russian pilot. It's not real clear to me who'd win.
Back before the gulf war all we heard was how superior russian aircraft were to US fighters, that it would be a slaughter, they had the homefield advantage, many years experience and the fact that Saddam had purchased all the latest and greatest russian tech to use against the US.. from advanced radar to missiles etc.. well we found out very quickly that was all propaganda...looking back through time we can see that this is normal for their military to boast and make wild claims to bridge the huge dollar gap between military spending.. If they were so good then why does their only aircraft carrier need a couple tugboats to follow it around...how many times has it broken down and/or caught fire , if they cant operate a boat I doubt they can maintain their air fleets properly.
As many of my fellow commentators mentioned, Pilot experience is very key when it comes to combat. A plane can have all kinds of bells and whistles but if the pilots training and experience isn't up to par than it doesn't matter how well all the gadgets work.
Put both pilots are probably going to be awesome. It's not like they are gonna throw rookies up against such formidable opponents. At some point the bells and whistles will come in handy. I'm not sure how accurate dcs is but going up against a jet with thrust vectoring in a jet without is pretty tough.
After the collapse of Soviet Russia, US and former Soviet pilots held a friendly event in Russia where they showcased each others skill and aircraft that involved F-15's and Su-27's. From the sound of it, the Sukhoi's more than held their own. Eagle pilots looked surprised, startled, even embarrassed. No one claimed victory but you just got the feeling from their reactions and what was said that the Russian jets at least fared better than expected.
@@tgtg7182Yes then after that the us fighter jets got back and learn more training which now they fix or do more better, as at the sametime the su27 was so damn light compared to the f15 it was like a 2800lbs Porsche vs a 4500lbs hellcat XD.
Russian pilots when they first flew the SU27 where surprised by how agile it is one commented that he thought he was going to fall out of his seat by how agile it is. American pilots and Air Force higher ups who had a chance to go for a ride in one where surprised how well it handled compared to the American planes.
@@mitchjames9350 For comparison go and watch the reaction of Israeli pilots who first flew the F15 into combat. They were throughly amazed at a jet that they say practically flew itself. And American higher ups were impressed that the SU27 handled so well considering the fact that they were basic mechanical controls all over, not compared to American planes. Thats your addition. The F15 has an unmatched record consisting mostly of Russian planes. That tells the story of superiority right there.
On the aesthetics side, I’m very biased towards the SU-35: amazing lines, looks more organic, like a natural killing machine. But Americans had been notoriously better at taking care of their airplanes. You’ll never see an f-15 flying alone without AWACS, f-16’s and electronic warfare planes around him. Su-35 it’s more like a stand-alone warrior that has to pay attention to every detail in the battle field, while F-15 it’s like pack hunter. Both excels at their roles
Well yeah, but we are saying 1 to 1, now russian training is crap but when they were in syria the precision probability of hitting a target with a dumb bomb was 90% . But now it is not as good.
A lot of comments from folks talking about how the SU-35 would be killed by the F-15 at multiple tens of miles range with AMRAAMs. People don't seem to understand that modern BVR missiles aren't really designed for killing fighters at long range - they are designed to kill large (relatively) slow and unmanoeverable planes like AWACS, ELINT, Tankers and slower Bombers at those distances and fighters at medium to short ranges (typically well under 40km) as these missiles burn their boosters rapidly (
This is what most Americans can't understand. They still are voicing out "F35 will kill you without you knowing it because you will be detected first and it is stealth." Crazy marketing idea.
You can talk about all the scenarios, variables, and simulated dog fights in the world. But at the end of the day, the F-15 has 104 wins and 0 loses in real combat. Clearly the Americans are on to something with BVR combat. There’s a reason European countries, Russia and others are investing in developing stealth 5th gen fighters.

The cost to build in the USA is far greater as it’s just it’s Military equipment that is made in the USA but most of your industries are in China helping it’s economy, hell the USA even allows them to steal any technology they want that includes Russia gee the USA loves saving China & Russia on development costs. Aerodynamically speaking: The SU-35 is literally a giant lifting airfoil with extra lifting wings added in as well as a very small blended wing central fuselage and air intakes with engines. This allows Sukhoi and Mikoyan aircraft to generate massive amounts of lift in a turn while having very little drag in return which translates to tight and fast turns. Basically: A giant surfboard with a couple bulges.
The F-15 also uses a lifting body design, and that's why it's the only fighter jet to land with a completely missing wing. The F-35 also revolves around it's lifting body design and is why it's so much more maneuverable than even an F-16.
@@weasle2904 No, F-16 is by far more maneuverable than Su-27. F-16's quad flight computer allows its optimal flight characteristics. If you are talking about AoA, its different than maneuverability of aircraft.

@@CaesarCassius Some publicists judge the comparative combat capabilities of the F-15 and Su-27 based on the results of a visit to the United States at Langley airbase in August 1992 by pilots from the Lipetsk Air Force Combat Use Center and Air Force Flight Personnel Retraining and a return visit of American pilots to Lipetsk in September of the same year, and also to the Savaslake Airbase in 1996. “Joint maneuvers” of the F-15D and Su-27UB were organized (according to Russian pilots, the F-15 is inferior in maneuverability at subsonic speeds to the Su-27). It was repeatedly announced about the victory for the Su-27 with a dry score.😝
All fighter jets have their advantages and their disadvantages, but yes it really depends on the avionics, manuverability and the skills and experience of the fighter pilots. Honestly I love both the F-15E Strike Eagle and the SU-35 Flanker because there both AWSOME fighters in my opinion. Much Respect and love from Malaysia 💂🇲🇾.
@Robert LaPointe I know bro and it's sad for the Royal Malaysian Air Force. Hopefully we'll get some spare parts soon for our SU-30MKMs but however maybe we are going to buy the Dassault Rafael, SU-35 or the MIG-35 hopefully.
There is no denying that the SU 35 has some of the most beautiful lines ever created when it comes to airplanes, but so does the F 15! Basically, it comes down to pilot skills, and abilities! Training plays a big factor, and if you can make your plane dance to your tune, you will most likely come out with a win, but if you’re incapable of flying your craft, nice knowing you
I always loved the sexy profile of the Sukois.,.. however it all boils down to efficacy of the respective jets BVR missiles. Noone be will need to merge. Merge is exciting but we have High Alpha control and the upgraded AIM 9X and off boresite helmet aiming. The missiles can go off boresite and can shoot backwards!
Vijay Ghunowa ... it’s even more then pilot skills, a modern military just doesn’t just send in pilots to square off one on one to see who’s the better pilot or plane. There’s AWACS, radar and electronic suppression and Wild weasels attack planes in a strike package but even before that there would be cruise missile attacks to degrade the enemy’s air bases and missile defenses. So it really come down to which Air Force has enough assets left over to detect and direct their fighter planes against their enemy before they are detected!
You guy's think they're gonna be dogfighting..., why do you think the F-35 is slow and doesn't manoeuvre? Cause you can't detect it and no amount of Chaff will get one of those missles of you.

The F-15 Strike Eagle has been optimized for ground support missions. It has a second crewman who helps find, identify, and attack ground targets. Air to air combat is not it's Forte, but it is still an F-15, I would never completely count it out!
No... there are different versions of the F-15 was designed specifically for air to air, especially the F-15C... you'd have to be insane to think otherwise. The F-15E is a more medium range fighter-bomber, and used for air-to-ground. But the F-15 was designed with the mantra "not a pound for air-to-ground" for a reason. They didn't want a single bit of its design to even consider air-to-ground whatsoever.

I love this channel because it actually makes you like both fighters being compared. Unlike other channels who are purely biased and makes you hate the other one.
You know I think People like this should have more subscribers and support. They put a lot of effort in Learning about these aircraft and making videos about them.
Some maybe but not so much this one. Saying the SU35 can sustain supersonic speed without using afterburners is completely false. That would mean it has engines capable of supercruise which the Russians and Chinese can not develope successfully yet. Where as the prototype of the F-22 was capable of doing in it's first flight way back in 1991. Almost 30 years ago and the Russians and Chinese still can't do it. hhahahahaha makes you think, Wow doesn't it? Also trying to compare a strike aircraft that is 25 years older to a air superiority fighter in a air superiority role is not a very good comparison to try. They are not the same type of fighter. If you are going to do that, they you should also compare the two aircrafts strike capabilities. Since the F-15E is a dual role fighter then compare both of it's roles with the SU35. Which again the F-15E is 25 years older. If you think about it, wouldn't that be the same as comparing the F-15A with the Mig 15? They are close to being 25 years apart. Of course there would be no comparison between those two. The F-15A would completely destroy the Mig 15 every time. So based on just a couple things I mentioned, there doesn't seem to be a lot of effort in learning about these two aircraft. Or at least a lot of effort learning the correct things about them. Could this by why they don't have as many subscribers as you think they should. Cause most people see this?
Based on comparison here, i'd have to say the Su35 seems to have most of the advantages. The difference has to be Pilot/Training and or, some little surprises the F15s have, that would warrant the confidence of flying them in hostile environments. It amazes me that the 2 planes have faced off, i'm sure with the Israelis and the Syrians, yet no engagements have been reported. The Israeli success with the F15 is amazing, and a big part of its perfect undefeated score. With all these documented advantages, i don't understand why the Su35 hasn't gotten its "feet wet" in combat. Both airplanes are beautiful and kudos to the Russian and American engineers who designed such powerful and beautiful machines. As an American, lets say this, I wouldn't mind having Su35's on our side too!
F15 has that record vs the fighters that were so old and outdated that it basically doesn't matter , f15 have never entered combat with a fighter of its own class . F15 is highly overrated . When it comes against a flanker its true potential will be shown .
If the USAF continued with the F-15CX along with the -EX, the single-seat one would be more comparable to the Su-35; the F-15EX, as a multirole, is more comparable to the Su-30
Ehhh the F-15A would be better because SU-35 and F-15A are both single seats. Anyways, the F-15A has better thrust to mass ratio because it’s smaller than the SU-35 but the SU-35 has better turn rates because of better aerodynamic properties.
Not saying the F15 isn't a awesome plane but do you know most of the jets that the F15 has shot down are the old Mig 21's and I think Mig 25 Foxbat and a couple other planes s that are no where near advancement and capabilities of a su35 flanker. SU35 is a totally different animal , I think the only thing that could beat this in a dog fight is the F22 .
@@uriahbleue1947....in this case, it would come down to the pilots. F-15 crews are combat tested. I would think for them, the combat experience would be more of an advantage over any of the technology either aircraft possesses. I remember "Turkey Feathers" on a couple of the F-15s at Holloman AFB in the early 80's, They were just removing the last of them when I got there in '82. They looked cool, but yes, they did fall of.
The fact that the new F-15EX can carry 12 or more Missiles and shoot from maybe over 200 miles away with the right speed and altitude makes me think the new F-15 would win. But I don’t know if the F-15E could beat the Su-35
F 15E IS THE BEST EVER . ITS WAR TESTED. IT HAS 103 KILL WITH 0 LOSS.THIS IS THE ONLY WORLD RECORD OF ANY FIGHTER IN THE AIR FORCE HISTORY OF THE WORLD., SU 35 STILL HAS NO SUCH WAR PROVEN RECORD. SU 35 SHOULD BE COMPARED WITH new F 15EX .
A straight truth, don't give up on dog fighting! During Vietnam war, they depended on missiles, and the kill ratio dropped, 1 to 2, as oppose to the 1 to 15 ratio of the Korean war. I hope they are still running "Red Flag" at Nellis, to keep the dog fighting edge. I think they changed the name but, the same idea.
Win index? WTF is that? Some kind of simulations or something? Which of course doesn't mean shit. Only actual combat means anything. The F-15E is a dual role fighter not an air superiority fighter. Compare it with a similar Russian aircraft if they have one that is similar. hahhahaahhaah win index hahahhahaah now that is funny and very, very naive.

@Odyssey The F-35 has a lot of problems, it can't even fly supersonic because it causes damage to the frame and stealth coating, it can't use it's active radar systems without revealing it's position and to top it off it can't even fire it's cannon without causing frame damage. On the other hand the SU-35 was created from the extremely successful SU-27 and has been able to sneak in close enough to give the F-35 pilots a good scare a few times.

Except in this case the M16 is the lighter more maneuverable one while the AK is the heavier one. But it doesn’t matter since a human can point their arms and their guns in any direction they want and a lot faster than fighter aircraft.
You’re comparing a Mudhen with an air superiority fighter. The F-15C or 2040C or the F-22 are more fitting comparisons, not a bomber with air to air capability.
How do you compare anything with the F-22? Answer, you can't. So not a good choice. See how the Eurofighter Typhoon stacks up against the SU35. That would be a bit more comparable I think? What do you say?
This guy is correct. F-15E is a tactical bomber, F-15C is the correct comparison for the Su-35. F-15E comparison would be the Su-34. There are too many fueltanks and pods hanging off the F-15E to compare here, and the airframe is beefed up to carry massive bombs like the GBU-28 and B61. Source: Myself, former member of 493rd, F-15C.
Well the F-22 is a super weapon. Not many would disagree about that. I never said it was untouchable. Every aircraft can be shot down. Some are just much, much, much harder to shot down than others. I highly doubt the F-22 lost multiple times in any excercises. I am sure they have lost a few which of course will happen. But I am just as sure that in every excercise, including the few when one was lost, that the F-22 inflicted much, much more damage on them. So there is little point in bringing up that they have been defeated because like I said, that is bound to happen once in a while. Also how do we know that those few defeats weren't against newer F-22 pilots flying in these excercises for the first time. Who knows what happened. With many planes zooming around the sky together, sooner or later one is bound to find himself on the tail of an F-22. Talking about the SU supermaneuverability, you are aware that what it does in air shows is not what combat is like. All those fancy tricks you see in air shows are all done at low speeds. Combat happens at much higer speeds. Attempting to do any of those things at high speed would most likely end up with a wingless aircraft. Or at least a blacked out pilot. Either way you have a russian aircraft going down. Besides I have seen the F-22 do the same things I have seen the SU35 do without 360 thrust vectoring. That shows what an amazing aircraft the F-22 really is. But since these two aircraft are combat aircraft, and in combat, with a well trained pilot flying it there is a much, much better chance of the SU35 pilot dying. At combat speed, the Russian aircraft lose their super maneuverability advantage. Also let's not forget that lets say ok the fight slows down. In order for these fancy flying tricks to work, the US pilot has to be stupid enough to be right on the Russian tail. It would be very careless for a US pilot to but himself in that kind of situation. Being the best trained pilots in the world, I am sure they know to keep their distance so that when a Russian pilot tries one of his little fancy air show tricks. All he has done was make himself a very slow or could even say a sitting duck of a target.. So your saying the F-16 can out dogfight the F-22, F-35 and F-18? I mean cause you said the F-16 is the only aircraft that could stand a chance against Russian fighters. Well showing again your lack of knowledge here. First of all in the hands of equal pilots, the F-22 would destroy the F-16 and has so many times over an over again in excercises. Now that F-35 pilots have learned to fly their aircraft, they have been unbeatable. An F-18 is a extreme dogfighter and can take out the F-16. But in your opinion, the F-16 is the only american fighter that has a chance to win against russian fighters. hahahhahaha hear that noise. It is the alarm clock going off and time for you to wake up and join the rest of us in the reality of this world. Not the fantasy world in which you obviously spend much time in. Your forgetting the most important aspect to any fight between aircraft. Yes the pilot. You see American pilots are the very best trained pilots in the world. They not only have the most realistic kind of training available anywhere in the world. But they also get to train over and over and over and over again. They get to see why they may have lost a fight to someone and learn how to not let what happened, happen again. They learn and go over what they should have done and do it over and over and over again. No other pilots spend as much time actually flying and fighting and learning as american pilots do. They are also trained to fight every aircraft out there. They learn to win against it even if it is more maneuverable. Like back in Vietnam. The Mig 21 was much more maneuveralbe than the F-4. At the beginning of the conflict, american pilots were not taught how to fight the enemy. They only knew how to use their missiles at large, slow moving bombers. So in the beginning, the US air force and navy fighters could only get a 3 to 1 kill ratio. Once the Navy opened Top Gun and taught their pilots how to dogfight, even against more maneuverable aircraft, the graduates of that school started kicking the North Vietnamese asses getting the kill ratio up to 12 to 1. 'Anyway more maneuverable aircraft can be beaten and beaten regularly when a pilot has fought this same time of enemy already over and over and over again in training. Every american fighter is capable of defeating any russian fighter because of the pilot training. In the F-22 and F-35 cases, the combination of the best trained pilots flying the best available aircraft in the world, it is just about as close to being unbeatable as it gets,. As far as the F-22 being tracked goes, another thing I highly doubt. Maybe at very close range but highly unlikely at distance. Your sources seem to be more like wishful thinkers and daydreamers. Regardless of any of this the fact is the F-22 can be touched, but when touching back, many more of them feel it than the F-22 does. Oh and let's not forget that the F-22 is 30 years old. If other countries want to think their new to 10 year old fighters are just as good as a 30 year old aircraft, that is fine cause what is in the hangers at Area 51 and many other unheard of places, make the F-22 look like a biplane from WW1.

Sometimes spending to much time here and commenting and replying many times, one or two may get forgotten or lost. Either way I wasn't confused with what you said because you are correct.
@Confederate Nationalist I think the f-35 will surprise you. It can't be detected or locked on to such a degree that it could be under the enemies wing without them even knowing it. By then it is too late as one of its missles blows them out of the sky. That's it's purpose and the 35 does it very well like no other. It also is one of 2 aircraft that can go where it wants with impunity. We know the other. As a ground strikes aircraft the 22 is no match for the 35. And is no match in air to air against superior stealth and sensors of the 35. In other words the 35 even kills F-22's.
They're all great planes, however, that all depends on the pilot's number of training hours of who has the longer training hours between Russia and America.

The F-15E is a impressive aircraft but the Sukhoi flankers are superior in terms of maneuverability and maintenance cost. I say this as a former F-15 weapons technician.
If we compare JETS, then I think that Su-35 is better, because it has longer range missiles and it much more maneuverable then F-15E. Of course everything depends on pilot skills, but this is a different story.
Much more maneuverable in your dreams... SU-35 js slightly more maneuverable with absolutely 0 advantage in combat. Not to mention he is not comparing it to F-15X which is the newest version and the pentagon just purchased several of them

This isn’t really a fair comparison. The Su-35 was primarily designed as an air-to-air fighter, whereas the F-15E variant was designed primarily as a close air support aircraft with dogfighting capabilities secondary.
The f15 is a heavy fighter same as SU-35 the US light fighter the F-16 is better for close support along with the A-10 that's why the F-15 has better range than an F-16. Close support isn't what the F-15 is about. F-16 much better for close support. The facts are the F-22 was built as the air superiority fighter
Davy Ro The F-15E is a completely different animal to all other variants. I crewed F-16’s for many years and we worked closely with them at Red Flag. We always kicked the crap out of them in air-to-air. You have to understand that the F-16 wasn’t heavily modified for the air-to-ground role. The F-15E was. Think of the F-15E as a CAS/Strike aircraft that can fight air-to-air if it has to. But it’s not very good at it. That’s what the F-15A’s and C’s were designed for.
Seems better? hahhahahahahah great way to choose something. Especially something that could mean the difference between life and death. Always making the wrong choice. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!
In a high speed engagement the Su-35 would not be able to leverage their thrust vector acrobatics. It's definitely a badass fighter built for the dogfight. The F15 has superior electronics, missile tech and a higher top speed and ceiling to fight from. F15 wins except for low speed dog fight. Assuming equal pilots of course.
The biggest factor in a dogfight is, how skillfull the pilot is. If you have two pilots on the exactl same level, for sure the flanker will outperform the eagle. It is proven in the past, even some propeller driven aircraft had shot down jets just because some pilots have the sensitivity to "feel exactly" their plane capabilities.
1. This forces them to give up energy and makes them an easy target for the F15's wing-man. 2. There are plenty of tactics available to counter highly maneuverable aircraft. It's not the first time the Air Force has had to fight more maneuverable frames. The Navy had to learn the hard way fighting those nasty Zeroes. In reality no pilot will ever fight 1 on 1. I think American pilots will maintain authority over the skies except for when they are outnumbered. Plus. Odds are on some of those missions that F22 support is just a radio call away or are already part of the flight group. a. No denying Russians make some amazing equipment though.
Totally agree with you
That’s true
It's simple....the better radar wins.

After the collapse of Soviet Russia, US and former Soviet pilots held a friendly event in Russia where they showcased each others skill and aircraft that involved F-15's and Su-27's. A lot of comments from folks talking about how the SU-35 would be killed by the F-15 at multiple tens of miles range with AMRAAMs. People don't seem to understand that modern BVR missiles aren't really designed for killing fighters at long range - they are designed to kill large (relatively) slow and unmanoeverable planes like AWACS, ELINT, Tankers and slower Bombers at those distances and fighters at medium to short ranges (typically well under 40km) as these missiles burn their boosters rapidly (
ultimately, it will depend on who is defending and who is attacking...
Great comment. Excellent points. Long live the dog fight!
This is what most Americans can't understand. They still are voicing out "F35 will kill you without you knowing it because you will be detected first and it is stealth." Crazy marketing idea.

As an American, lets say this, I wouldn't mind having Su35's on our side too!
the two aircraft are pretty much evenly matched, and it would be really up to the skills of the pilots to prevail. nice video.
When the Flanker accomplishes the same combat record air to air and air to ground as the Eagle, I'll acknowledge it as a good aircraft.

All about tradeoffs.
Or in this case... F-15E vs SU-35 is closer to: M4 vs AK74
M16A3 Vs AK-74M
Except in this case the M16 is the lighter more maneuverable one while the AK is the heavier one. But it doesn’t matter since a human can point their arms and their guns in any direction they want and a lot faster than fighter aircraft.
104 F-15 Confirmed kills with 0 losses is insane
Against outdated opponents... If you put him VS Typhoon, Rafale or Gripen, we will see his true potential.
@Confederate Nationalist My apologies but I am confused. My comment above was a reply to Gary's comment. I agree with what you said in your comment below mine. Maybe I am missing a comment or two.
I'll pick F-15 Strike Eagle.. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
They're all great planes, however, that all depends on the pilot's number of training hours of who has the longer training hours between Russia and America.

Just so u know they now have F15x in production as air to air combat only
Davy Ro The F-15E is a completely different animal to all other variants. I crewed F-16’s for many years and we worked closely with them at Red Flag. We always kicked the crap out of them in air-to-air. You have to understand that the F-16 wasn’t heavily modified for the air-to-ground role. The F-15E was.
There is no such thing as equal pilots. Even the same pilot can have a better or a not-so-good day.
Two best looking and powerful machines !
SU-35 HAS 360 DEGREE THRUST VECTORING,ALLOWING TO REDIRECT THRUST IN ANY DIRECTION, 14 HARDPOINTS.
