The Su30s were russia's response to america's F15 and F14, stolen tech and spying were obviously used too design the Flankers fast enough. The double tail is also now very common on jets today. They are used to have a large wing surface on big planes (F15, F22, Flankers, J20s...)

Im pretty sure the eagle is based off of the MiG-31 because of its speed, I heard that somewhere on the military channel. about a defective MiG-31 pilot who landed in japan and gave the jet to the japanese who turned it in to the americans, and apparently the U.S. made a similar version to combat it, and it was the F-15
