      You missed the point my friend. In terms of the dark side Mace Windu is exceptional enough to stand outside in the rain but not get wet. All of that is rooted his will power and self mastery. He can benefit from it, reflect it back to the attacker, and stay immune to it. Anakin despite his natural talent and skill was walking a fine line and at times outright gave into the dark side. With all the trauma he went through Vaapad under Anakin’s use would just turn into the wild and aggressive Juyo fighting style. Anakin can conquer almost any enemy but he never conquered himself….but Mace Windu did. Mace Windu is what Anakin would have been times 3 if he overcame his inner demons and never became Vader. Jedi like Plo Koon and Qui Gonn embody the Jedi fully enveloped in the light and Jedi like Mace Windu and Anya Kuro embody Jedi that exercised overcoming their own darkness while remaining fully rooted in the light. Both fully showcasing what a true Jedi is and through walking that path reaching a state of immense skill, rare abilities, and in some cases even enlightenment. Sidious said the dark side is a pathway to many abilities some even considered unnatural. While that it’s true it is the quick and easy path. For that Jedi the reverse is also true. Those that exercise the patience and discipline to fully commit to the light they gain a level of skill and unique abilities natural to the living force gifted to few that commit to it. Making that beacons of hope , prosperity, and nearly insurmountable power

Those were supposed to be echoes of the past that had no light side force connections as they were a manipulation of the dark side. However, even in the Star Wars fantasy drama there are no such things unless they are indeed a force ghost like Qui Gon Jins lvl at the end of season 6. Or if you were near a force wound. Very impressive. I do have some complementary points to this analysis, though. WIndu himself does have parallels with Anakin, but the Master of the Order's strongest differences are in preparation, self-reflection and wider-scope views.
    Mace Windu often worked alongside a partner, somebody whom in battles would take the overall command position, on Ryloth that roll was shared between Commander Ponds and Cham Sendulla, or Lorz Geptun on Haruun Kal. Clearly, this was a lesson WIndu learned between Geonosis and another battle on Dantooine, where he wound-up in his own individual actions, and most under his command died (Jedi on Geonosis until Yoda arrived, and Clone Troopers on Dantooine). Additionally, WIndu would devise battle-plans for the rest of his soldiers to follow while positioning himself at the key point which could decide victory or defeat. INclude his mission against the CRIMSON NOVA (a bounty-hunters guild sponsored to go against Jedi), where Mace put a plan together, walked in the front door, and kept the hunter focused on him while Fisto, Saesee Tiin and Agen Kolar sabotaged the guild.
    WIndu's own Shatterpoint talents were reflected in this sense. And he would apply another principle to battle strategy, and deplomacy: "the only solution to a problem is cut through the heart with the knife, and leave others to put the pieces together." Prior to the Clone War, a comic story had Windu intervene to stop a decades-long blood bath between Warring clans over a great statue; particularly different sacred components of the statue, and when a stray blaster damaged that artefact the clans dropped their weapons to repair it.
    So, Windu cut the statue to pieces "and left them with a thousand choices to occupy their time." IN diplomacy, Windu would probe to find the heart of the matter between different parties, cut right to the centre and compel those involved to cooperate, or discover deceptions behind the matter: on Ryloth between CHam Sendula and Onn-Free-Taa. However, this oculd lead him into dangerous traps, and tunnel-vision prone, which Cad Bane and Darth Sidious infamously exploited.

    As much as I love Mace Windu, from his portrayal by Sam Jackson to his overall story and just how capable he was, I'm still of the belief that had he been able to follow thru with striking down Sidious that would've led to him falling to the dark side. Only from, in my opinion, that I think Sidious would've had a contingency with a possibility of that scenario in mind.

      You do remember that he's the one that decapitated Jango Fett right? Just like how he went with Jango Fett, what he was about to do to Palpatine was just business, nothing personal. He perceived a need to do such a thing, not the emotion. If he indeed ended up cutting Palpatine down, that'd just been another day for in the war, rather than some heavy, monumental moment weighing in his conscience & consciousness. If he eluded the taunt & temptation of the dark side for so long & came out just fine & sane, cutting down Palpatine would be far from enough to turn him to the dark side.

Yoda was Far More Precise at 900 than a few centuries before, but was less powerful at the time by his own admission, as seen in "The Jedi Path."

    Mace is so interesting to me. His presence in ep 9 suggests he is one with the cosmic force now. So he must have seen or at least heard about Anakin eventually bringing piece and balance and fulfilling of the prophacy. I really wonder how mace felt about this, and if he knew that anakanin would eventually do such a thing. Since he said that the prophacy could have been misread I don't think windu would have ever expected this outcome.

    Also I don’t think he ever would’ve fallen to the Dark Side, sure he dabbled with it but not for his own desire for the Sith but for power needed for the good of the Republic(string pulling aside).

    The way you describe Vapaad makes me wonder why more Jedi weren’t taught it. It seems like a useful tool to channel dangerous emotions rather than repress them.
    It seems to me that fewer Jedi would fall to the dark side if this philosophy was more wide spread in the order

    • @EndlessDreamer448
      @EndlessDreamer448 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Vapaad is a bit weird in that respect it requires true discipline and an incredibly strong will to resist the dark side in order to master it which is why those who did use it such as Quinlan Vos could only use an incomplete version of it. It's a punishing style that you either overcome with great benefits and power or your weakness would drive you to the darkside. There is no middle ground with this technique which is why most Jedi were forbidden to attempt it and why Mace was usually very reluctant to teach it or take on an apprentice.
