    Luckily, for the Munnlist 10 they were very skilled, being caught in between buildings with sniper Droids in all of them firing from all sides with only a down damaged Gunship for cover, most units would have been slaughtered or taken heavy losses, but with Fordo's leadership and their skills, the team only lost one member, the only casualty, besides the piolet, of the operation. And that is why the Munnlist 10 is one of the best infiltration units.

      However, as the years went by, I expect them to be slowly but surely declining in numbers, up to the possible point that Fordo might be the only survivor come the Clone Wars' end.

    So, Stalingrad but on a planetary scale.
    Sounds like absolute hell; no wonder the Outer Rim sieges were so infamous-even if you win, the meat grinder of urban warfare would have chewed through a few armies’ worth of men by the time it’s over. And unlike Stalingrad you can’t strike at the flanks and encircle the enemy army within the city.

    • @laisphinto6372
      @laisphinto6372 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thats why thanks to more military power going to the Fleet commanders and not jedi they rather orbital bombarded the planets back to the stone age rather than dealing with this meatgrinder. you can see why every republic soldier hated jedi with their morality that will produces more casualties on the republic rather than biting the bullet and be ruthless to win

    • @thechroniclegamer4285
      @thechroniclegamer4285 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had come up with a sci-fi where a government forces towns to be built around Planetary Defense Guns, and you aren’t allowed to bombard military bases in civilian areas due to inaccuracy of shells
      Thus it restricts orbital bombarding and forces urban combat and dropship deployments

    • @warlordofbritannia
      @warlordofbritannia 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is why Russia hasn’t been able to conquer Ukraine-all their tanks and heavy artillery is useless when you have to clear the enemy out, street by street and house by house.
      Ironically, same thing entrapped the Germans at Stalingrad-the Sixth Army was committed to taking the city and the Soviets smashed the flanking armies to encircle it.

Even pretty small scale an handfuls of fighters for both sides often tends to lead to quite a mess and brutal, bloody fighting.

    Considering how I have lived in Urban cities, I am more familiar, I can protect myself from enemy combats and my chances to escape is much higher compared to open field combat . However, the chances of me dying is still high in Urban quarters because you never know who is the enemy because there is to many civilians around for you to pinpoint exactly who it is so you are constantly having to be in high alert but at the same time, it would be a nightmare for any attacker. I would prefer being the defender in a Urban field, not the attacker lol.
