That baked potato looked just perfect, everything looked good. Sad that so many have closed. Everything looked fresh and clean. ( Bobbi must tell the secret to no frizz hair in this heat, im in Florida and my long hair can't stand to be outdoors. ) Bobbi's hair always beautiful.
The baked potato and fried chicken were my favorite. Thank you for the nice compliment. I appreciate it. I have very straight hair. So I don't know if that's why I don't get frizzy hair. But in the winner, I get a lot of static in my hair.🤣 Thanks for watching. 😎😎
Hi John and Bobbie! I miss Shoney's here. Closed them down in the 2000's. Love it when it changed to the buffett here. BOBBIE: Fried Chicken was always my favorite. Carrots fried green beans, of course salad anyway. Vegetable soup looked homeade. Try the baked potato. Oh the desserts! JOHN: breaded Catfish, cod, shrimp boil so good!!! Riveye steak wonderful! Love the seafood salads you had. WOW for the price you can't go wrong with SHONEY'S! Really miss it here!
About the only buffets around my house are Chinese buffets & Golden Corral. All Golden Corral has is Ice Milk not even real Ice Cream. And Chinese restaurants have hard frozen Ice Cream in small bowls or containers like CONCRETE. I miss soft serve. But thankfully I can still get it at other places like Twist E Treat or Dairy Queen.
Loved this video. Didn't know Shoney's was still around. I never got to eat in one but my dad would go to car races down south and always go there and bring back my sister and I a bunch of goodies from their shop. Like a stuffed Shoney's bear, tshirts, candy, small games ect. This video put a huge smile on my face bringing back those memories especially now that my dad unfortunately has advanced dementia and doesn't even remember my name. Wonderful video. I would love to try that seafood buffet. And Bobbie I love your butterfly earrings! John I love your Styx shirt. Saw them this past May and was blown away by Tommy Shaw. Still amazing.
@@jbinthehills the last one I went to was on bald hill road in Warwick RI. Some 25 years later I have two Littles and want them to experience this restaurant it's good to know that the food is good.
Im so glad to have seen this video. My first job as a teenager was at Shoneys in Memphis around 1969. I remember making those fudge cakes, slicing the cake, opening the ice cream bar, pumping the fudge, whipped cream and cherry on top, slicing strawberry pies and adding whipped cream, $.99! My favorite to eat was a large plate of onion rings for .99 and the Big Boy hamburger was better than a Big Mac.The buffet looked good and I had wanted to eat the breakfast buffet at that very one yall were at when I was there in March but regrettably didn't but for sure next time. Sure wish we still had Shoneys in every town again, Thanks Guys, loved it!
My fondest memories of Shoney’s is as a child/teenager going after church on Sunday night and getting that delicious strawberry pie or hot fudge cake. I wonder if that’s still on their menu. The buffet looked good !
Gm J&B how I miss Shoney's. When we lived in North Carolina we ate their a lot. Loved their breakfast buffet especially their grits I love just cheese and salt and pepper in mine yummy. Always had fresh food out and a nice variety of food choices. All looks so yummy. And the price was very reasonable. Safe travels guys😎😎❤❤

I can't believe they still have Shoney's left! The last time I went to a Shoney's it was in Danville, IL & that was back in 1995! I remember it being such a great place back in the day! I used to love their buffets. They had a couple in Knoxville when I lived there, but I never got to go. There were so many places to eat in Knox back then! Those 2 are still open actually so TN has more than 4, I think, in the Smokies. Their selection is much smaller than I remember, for sure! The ribeyes looked like they were old shoes. LOL But the salad bar and the rest of the food looked pretty good. I would go to town on the creamed corn, hush puppies, mac & cheese, popcorn shrimp, and this is a place I would have a salad! The carrots and baked potato looked great! I think the shrimp boil is such a great and unique idea to have! My family used to make "fish" boils together - we threw all kinds of fishies in there and tons of corn cobs and other veggies. It was fun to peel shrimps together and have scallops, mussels, crab, and all kinds of stuff in there.

I used to work at Shoney’s in Virginia Beach back in 2001. It was fun working there, and I never got bored with the food whenever I’d eat on my lunch break. God I miss those days. ❤
I only been once to a Shoney’s but it was good. I was wondering if you both are going to hit the new Buc-ee’s in Seiverville? That would be great to see. I hear it’s the largest 😊

This is the first time in years that John and I have eaten at a Shoney's. This location kept the buffet full, and everything was hot. The fried chicken and baked potato were my favorite. 😎😎
Love Shoneys. Sadly there isn't one near us. Haven't been in one since the 90's but if we had dinner there, I ordered the sirloin steak, med. rare off the menu and it was good. We always ordered salad bar with our dinners. They had good potato soup with bits of ham in it. My mom would have the fried shrimp dinner or a Big Boy Burger. Dad would have a Big Boy Burger and strawberry pie. We loved the breakfast bar too. When I was little in the 70's and family summer traveling with all my brothers, we often stopped at Big Boy/Shoneys to eat.
Sad that a lot of these restaurants have closed. We thought it was a reasonable price . They had a good variety to choose from. The fried chicken and baked potato were my favorite. 😎😎
Another great video and love the Styx T-shirt. Styx, Boston, and the Cars were my early favorites groups to listen to when I was in elementary school. More on-topic, I'm glad they offer gloves as I commented on the lack of gloves on your CiCis video. I'm not OCD, but I got sick (a really nasty cold and not food poisoning) after eating at a Fried Tomatoes (or whatever they're called now) last year without using gloves. Obviously I can't prove that was the source of my cold, but the timing can't be disputed. Also, every place you eat at looks so clean! Don't see that kind of cleanliness here in metro-Atlanta unfortunately. You guys are making me want to relocate to TN!
I did not realize so few were left. we have one 15 minutes from us. got next to a bob evans. they’ve both been there as long as i can remember and i’m 37.
Excellent coverage of entire buffet line. Are the beverages included? Any senior or Military discounts? I wish the Shoneeys would come to Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Ed. 🇺🇸😎🚜
Used to be part of the Big Boy franchises, along with frishes, and Elbys big boy. Great food big boy hamburger, brawny lads, slim Jim’s, fish and chips. Great bean soup and Grecian bread, and the biggest slices of tomato’s and onions you ever saw. Great quality food.
The breakfast buffet was pretty good. For dinner I would always order "The Half Pound Ground Round " Unfortunately all locations nearby closed during the pandemic.
@@jbinthehillsGlad to hear that You Two enjoyed it. Way back in the day, I lived in North Carolina from 1979-1983. When I was pregnant in 1983. She had the same beautiful color of hair, as Bobbie. Bobbie reminds me of her. Love Your Fun and Interesting Channel.💯
In Pennsylvania they still have roy Roger's but they only way you can get to roy Roger's in Pennsylvania is you have to get on the pa turnpike and stop by the travel plazas on the turnpike

I think anytime there is a buffet, they should offer gloves. I have always thought that even before covid. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
I did not realize so few were left. we have one 15 minutes from us. got next to a bob evans. they’ve both been there as long as i can remember and i’m 37.
We did a review on Bob Evans Christmas menu, I think a year ago. We need to go back and see if they have anything new.😎😎
Wow!¡ that price for what I saw is amazing!!!❤
Very reasonable price for the variety of food to choose from. 😎😎
Golden Corral used to be under $10 for Lunch if you drink water. Now it's over $13 for lunch & close to $20 for dinner!
I love going to Golden Corral at 3:45pm so I can enjoy Dinner food at Lunch prices! But don't tell anyone else that secret. LOL
Sounds delicious

Used to be part of the Big Boy franchises, along with frishes, and Elbys big boy. Great food big boy hamburger, brawny lads, slim Jim’s, fish and chips. Great bean soup and Grecian bread, and the biggest slices of tomato’s and onions you ever saw. Great quality food.

@@jbinthehillsGlad to hear that You Two
enjoyed it.
Way back in the day,
I lived in North Carolina from 1979-1983.
When I was pregnant in 1983.
My best friend and I went to Shoney's
a couple of times a week.
I had to get the cheeseburger, fries and
hot fudge cake everytime.
My friend passed away a few years ago.
She had the same beautiful color of hair,
as Bobbie.
Bobbie reminds me of her.
Love Your Fun and Interesting Channel.💯
@@regina805 So for your loss. Thank you for the nice compliment. We appreciate you watching. 😎😎
You ever been to Huck Finns? All you can eat Catfish buffet in Pigeon Forge. I think its still there, been years since i was in Pigeon Forge though.
We have a review on Huck Finns. We didn't know they had a buffet. 😎😎
I used to waitress for Shoney's when they were in Ga. Made a lot of tips. Made a lot of strawberry pies and fudge pies! Too bad they closed here.
I think there's still one in Cartersville and another maybe near Peachtree City?
It is sad so many have closed. I always loved the strawberry pie.😎😎
That looked excellent for the price.
They had a nice variety to choose from on the buffet. The fried chicken and baked potato were my favorite. We thought it was very reasonable. 😎😎
It all looked good
It was very good. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
In Pennsylvania they still have roy Roger's but they only way you can get to roy Roger's in Pennsylvania is you have to get on the pa turnpike and stop by the travel plazas on the turnpike

Most of the ones down here in Georgia are few and far in between. Such a good breakfast.
We would like to go back and try their breakfast buffet.😎😎
I didn't know they will still around. I live in Nebraska. There was one in Lincoln. I don't think so anymore.
I know a lot of the Shoney's restaurants have closed. 😎😎
I remember the Shoney's in Hagerstown Md. Closed down years ago.
The Shoney's where we live closed this summer. Thanks for watching.😎😎
This was always a good place to go. We don’t have one, but we do have a big Golden Corral which we like.
Do they still have the Big Boy on the menu? I would go there. Thanks.
I don't think the big boy is still on the menu. They did a good job keeping everything full and hot.😎😎
Used to love their breakfast bar but Shoney closed down in our area😢
We want to go back and try their breakfast buffet. 😎😎
I was so glad we went to shoneys when we were up there. I’m from Jacksonville Florida and they no longer exist in northern Florida. The breakfast bar is still elite!
