    The two biggest quotes that hit home for me
    "You've been fighting a losing game since the first day you got high"
    "The hardest part of having the disease of addiction, aside from having the disease, is that no one in the world sees it as a disease. They see you as selfish. They see you as weak. They seen you as cruel. They see you as destructive. They think, why should I give a fuck about her if she doesn't give a fuck about herself or anybody else?"
    This whole episode was so real and intimate and vulnerable, I felt like I was invading their privacy by watching them have this conversation. That's how you know it's good 👏

Yesterday while we were hugging I had a Seizure, probably from the sudden stop of drinking. I know this helped a lot of people. Me included. I have watched this ep like 10-15 times. Everything they both say hit me hard and really got me thinking about my own mental health. Her anxiety and depression breaks my heart. I have suffered with this shit for over 20 years and I feel everything she says. There is something fundamentally wrong with this country when young kids not even out of high school yet feel like they are useless and their life is meaningless. Mine started when I was 14 and 20 years later I am finally starting to open up about it with friends and family. This show and Bojack Horseman really gave me that wake up moment.

    Rues interpretation of God is like most people which is why most people either hate God or choose to not to believe in him but here's my thought process. I feel like when God takes someone off this earth it is done because they have fulfilled his purpose for what he intended for them. To me its like watching a show for majority of the time most people are killed off the show because they have no more story line. We are all here for God's purpose whether we want to believe it or not and no matter how quick or long it might be. I don't understand God but to disbelieve in his existence is foolish

    This is a good scene, good dialogue. I live on Vancouver's downtown eastside, our skid row, and see lots of addicts. It's not that they're addicts or that they seem all screwed up that really bothers me: It's that they don't exercise the sense to do what works for them and makes them happy... or even try. It's like this guy says: Why should anyone give a fuck about them if they don't give a fuck about themselves?
    I think we should do damage control but give them every reasonable opportunity for happiness. We should just make sure that we don't enable anyone to cause problems.
    Next to the DTES is Chinatown. I went to the Chinese Cultural Centre looking for a craft shop but couldn't find one so asked someone working at a hair salon if she knew where it was. She didn't. I ended up telling her I'm sorry she was surrounded by ugly people, which was actually a somewhat understated way of describing the four drug addicts on the steps of the cultural centre who had littered many orange plastic wrappings for the free needles this city supplies. One of them moments later whipped out his big, hard cock and I said something to the effect of "Come on! Put that away!" Right there in front of her hair salon. Such people shouldn't be allowed to act this way, and not merely because of some laws.
    Then again, I've gone to soup kitchens for free food many times and maybe half of the people that go there seem like decent people who are just going through a bit of a hard time.
    I don't hate people because they're addicts but I think in many cases they're addicts because they're pieces of shit, not just pieces of shit because they're addicts. I can appreciate that it's easy to get off track and make mistakes that make everything so much worse, but nature has a way of taking care of those who don't help themselves: Nature kills them off. I don't think society should try too hard to work against nature, especially if it's a lot of work only to be punished by the people they're trying to help.
    While it might be dignified and peaceful to help the poor, we should do such a good job of it that it improves society and fixes problems instead of enabling irresponsible actors and merely keeping problems alive. The very least the poor or troubled can do is try not to make nuisances of themselves. They don't have to disappear, but they should make some sort of effort not to be unpleasant, never mind downright contemptuous of those paying taxes so they can stay self-absorbed in their problems.

    • @tsbiscaro
      @tsbiscaro 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I'm an addict. Clean and serene for 11 months, and I am speaking for myself and based on my experience. Addicts do get clean, but only if they have the desire to get clean. Some of them do not have this desire, they don't want any help and they will continue to behave as animals. I tend to think that some people are bad, with or without drugs. Some people are bad, period. Bad people on drugs are even worse. Drugs bring every flaw and everything bad one has to the surface. If one is willing to kill for drugs one would kill for any other reason anyway. Some addicts use drugs as a scapegoat for their bad behavior but a lot of them continue with the same behaviors when they get clean.
